Ladies and Gentlemen,

At the behest of my local group, the next set of NRD cards released will be six superstars w/ cards and no non-superstar specifics.

The problem is, they've requested that I make Bret Hart.

...

I've got a confession to make.

I don't like Bret Hart.  I've never liked Bret Hart.  Neither his wrestling nor his promo work ever enthused me whatsoever.

I'm so unenthusiastic that I can't even conjure a reasonable superstar ability or cardset for Bret.

Not to use this as my personal dev blog, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd much appreciate it.

For what its worth, he's never 'done it' for me either.  But you're Canadian, isn't that like treason for you or something?  Wink

Just a quick thought.. what if he gets a 3rd Style but it has to be Technician?

For his moves, that's easy.  Sharpshooter TMF... and you can either use The Best There Is, Was, Will Be as 3 separate cards, or use them as one.  That leaves The Hitman, Excellence of Execution, and maybe a move/reversal as one of his 'moves of doom'.

Another thought (I can't recall what is and isn't in NRD for moves) but to name his 5 moves (Russian Leg Sweep, Elbow Drop, Vertical Suplex, Backbreaker, Sharpshooter) and either perk them, he can search for them, etc.

Superstar Ability:
Your cards cannot be modified by non superstar specific, non style cards.
Once per turn, when you successfully play a grapple or submission, you may search for a non unique reversal reveal it and put it on top of your arsenal
You may pack 1 additional Style card but it must be "Grappler" , "Submissionist" , or "Technitian"



Of course this is a REALLY rough draft and not at all balanced, Just thought I would throw a ballpark ability

Ability: When you successfully play a maneuver without text draw a card, discard a card, and shuffle a card from your ringside pile into your arsenal. Your cards titled Inverted Atomic Drop, Russian Legsweep, Backbreaker, Elbow Drop, and Sharpshooter are considered Multis and when you successfully play one search your arsenal for one of the named maneuvers with equal or greater fortitude.

Oh, and for the record, I have just the distain for him that you do. Pile of poo.

People hating Bret Hart is something I've had to deal with my entire life as a fan. Weird.
