Wow. Both of these teams definitely have their strengths, but wow. I am very much looking forward to building Money Inc, now. They're definitely my first build.

If I'm not mistaken, most venues are universally active, not universally unique.  Million Dollar Man Always Gets His Way won't touch them.  He's pretty much guaranteed to get Jimmy, but I'd like to see what goes through people's heads in a Money Inc. vs. Ted matchup.

It can but it doesn't do anything, since you didn't move any cards.  You use your Ability, choose to save your cards, and get a whopping -0F.  Wink

can it be used when playing volley this? or just volleying in general? or is it meant more for cards that remove from game as a side effect, or something the opponent does? and how many cards cause the player to remove as an effect and not a requirement?

Well, there's no restriction on how the Ability is used, so there's no reason Volley This/Volley trait wouldn't work as well, right?  Smiley

It just says 'When YOU would remove cards from the game', so it just has to be something you are doing.  Whether its a side effect of something else, etc, that's fine.  But if your opponent is removing your card from the game, it doesn't work.

so if i want to reverse a card with volley 4, and i use money incs ability and put 4 random cards in my backstage area, is the card still reversed even though nothing was removed?

Yes, just like if you used I'm Gonna Break You to save one of the cards. You fulfilled the condition, the fact that the cards were rerouted doesn't matter for Volley since it doesn't give a benefit "per card moved" or anything like that.

i'm still not clear. i volley 4, they go to backstage instead, never being removed from game. how is the condition fulfilled?  the condition being 4 cards being removed from the game.

i'm not trying to argue, i just want to understand the ruling.

Step 1. You play card with volley 4
Step 2. I decide to  remove 4 cards from ringside to reverse
Step 3. On the way to out of play my ability allows me to place the removed card to backstage insted.
the contion that needs to be met to reverse volley is met I just don't have to place the cards out of play as money inc.

Using a replacement effect doesn't nullify the fact that you fulfilled the condition, except where specific wording comes into play (like Money Inc's remove-from-Backstage effect or Tear You Down Like a Minnesota Wrecking Crew). You removed 4 cards from the game with the Volley trait and generated the reversal. What happens to the cards when they are en route to the removed from game zone is none of the Volley trait's concern.

If it DID matter that the four cards were removed, you wouldn't be able to replace one with I'm Gonna Break You because that wouldn't be removing 4 cards in your Ringside from the game, it'd be removing 3 cards in your Ringside and 1 card in your Ring from the game. Make sense?

Just to point out, this isn't a 'new ruling' that we're making up here, but an extension of the 'Break You' replacement ruling used in a different manner.

But in principle, its not that different from Edge & Christian.  Nowhere Fast says 'discard 2 cards' but they draw instead.  They met the condition because card text told them they could alter the condition.  Same applies here.

It just doesn't work on their own Ability because the Ability says 'How many cards were actually moved?' when calculating the Fortitude discount, and the amount is 0.

Alright just wanting a clarification due to not being able to find non-throwback copies of double axe handle cards.  When Demolition blanks the card would that also remove the throwback aspect of the card from it...or just the "can only be played after" part of the card?

Uh, it gives your opponent a free shot and it only blocks one reversal card that sees little play.  It's fine as is.

We aren't in the business of changing cards around every time someone runs into a bad situation in a game, heh.  Wink
