I'm not so loyal to any seller that I would 33% more :/
$45 to $66 is a huge difference for one card.

Things to note:
- How much is shipping? If another item is being combined, so shipping is free, that can be huge. Especially when you're international.
- Yes in past I've paid 33% more with a seller because of a combination if shipping/ familiarity.

33% more on a $3 card I can see, but not on a $45 card. The highest shipping I've ever seen on a single card is $4.95. Most Raw Deal players I have met are certainly looking to buy as cheap as possible. It feels like this seller is trying to artificially inflate the overall value of Raw Deal and not just his auctions. Most people will use eBay as a price barometer and the seller knows this.  That would explain why he is buying cards from other auctions and likely reselling them after he establishes a false market.

This is EXACTLY what I feel, too.

I've been selling RAW Deal along with other collectibles as a whole online for, coming up on 15 years now (RD only since Vengeance). Clearly what piperspitt has outlined is what's going on. Having a small group of people pushing your bids up is not an uncommon (although illegal) thing. When the vast majority of buyers of collectibles in the online world base their prices on e-Bay sales, it forces me to have to be competitive while not cheapening the value of the product. However, I also want to make sure that I'm treating my customer's fairly.

It's all supply and demand. When every email I receive is asking for practically the same list of cards (AIUU, PLM, IYWTPYGTP, Unleashed Bomb, FTTOM - TB, etc. etc.), there's only so much you can offer buyers.

RAW Deal is getting harder and harder to find, and any smart player/collector knows this. I expect prices to go up over time, but when I'm quoting certain prices based on online sales history (e-Bay) and getting told that's too high, I share direct links to this seller's auctions to say "Look why I'm at this price."

I've got a bunch of RAW Deal listed right now (link is in the Buy/Sell section) and I don't expect to get a lot for most of them, but some are cards that this other seller has listed and I can assure you, I won't get his prices.

I'm not upset, just more curious than anything.

I'm done ...  Grin

::sigh:: Fine... Make me go and look at the two different sellers and break it down.

Vela Cards doesn't have the international shipping prices outlined. He says "contact me for international shipping prices."
That usually indicates an unwillingness or unfamiliarity with international shipping. (Not saying that Tony is unfamiliar, just saying what is normally assumed)

It looks like all of Vela's stuff is up for bid. Which means the person has to contact Vela, find out shipping prices, and then bid, and wait for the auction to end. If the person is impulse purchasing (which I suspect is the case, since the other dude has card and cost fully indicated, and with buy it now there's no waiting) I totally understand why they're grabbing the other cards. They're available, and they KNOW with BiN that they're going to get the card, as opposed to waiting, and having no idea when it will return to ebay in the future.

I'm not doing this to slam Tony, because there is nothing wrong with what he's doing. However if he's frustrated over the discrepancy - from my experiences with Ebay that would be the difference.

Also - I know this for a fact - I've put stuff up buy it now at an inflated price, and because it's been desired, people have bought it.

Please note folks - that where most users are expected to place their ebay auctions in their signatures, because of what Tony does for the Raw Deal community (distributing prize support among other things), he gets a free pass/perk/TY.

Sorry.  Sad That's why I didn't provide a link and tried to direct them to that section of the boards.

No apologies needed. But when I delete other auctions and get people ranting about double standards, experience has taught me that being proactive keeps the drama lama at bay.

I generally leave that blank and will almost always get an email asking for prices (for 1 card or most often 5 or more). Typically, it's the same price I'm offering for here in the States for first class mail international. It only goes up (slightly and generally no more than $2.50 for total S/H) depending on the amount they are buying.

Also - I know this for a fact - I've put stuff up buy it now at an inflated price, and because it's been desired, people have bought it.

Also, I guess because I don't have quantity on the items that he is getting these amazing prices on, so I don't list those kinds of cards. So there is that to consider, I suppose.

.... Just for the record ...

Ebay is basically the only other way to go other than this site, and people (myself included) are probably trying to bring Raw Deal back to their area..which means getting the "flashy" cards and pretty much just having a few friends that remember how awesome it was...which translates into all of them jumping onto ebay and spending $$ for cards that are probably worth half that much lol and to "stadiumike" (ebay name) I have a bid on like 4 or 5 of your items  Tongue haha

I just sold 7 cards on eBay. Made $7.29! Then Ebay took some money and Paypal took some money...don't think I'll be using that route again.
