Moved back to Ohio when I retired from the Army in November. Was one heck of a road trip with a 3-month old. Haha.

are the footstomps really that rare these days? ive seen cooler cards go for less (aiuu, paid laid made, etc). these are $71 and $91 with 3-5 days left on each, seems crazy

Yes, It and First to Tab (TB) are the two rarest UR's in the game because of the distribution and print run of SS3.

All the stuff that you mentioned are multi-logo, but they're regular UR rarity, and only their multi-logo pushes them up in value. Otherwise they'd be a regular UR released in a regular set.

I sold Footstomp TB for $100 when it was in print. I'm really not surprised at this.

@Brian. I thought SS3 had the highest print run of any set? Am I mistaken? I realize that there were less duplicate URs per print sheet, but thought the sheer number of boxes printed still brought the numbers up.

I don't have hard numbers, but I'd be inclined to believe that SS3 had 3x the print run, but something like 10x the URs of a normal set. The sheer number of ultra-rares in the set was soul-crushing. Trying to get one or two specific ones is equivalent to trying to get ten Gentlemen's Establishments, to pick a random one-set UR.

10x is 250 URs, I think it's a lot less than that, but don't have the cards in front of me. I can count 'em after work though.

The actual Survivor Series 3 Ultra Rare count is 133 according to Comic Images' website.

So it's slightly over 5x and if the print run was only 3x more they certainly are less common than the other end of run set URs.

Also, factor in that while other URs were basically the same as what was already there, Tap Out TB and Footstomp TB were remarkably better than the originals, and available for multiple Superstars.

I have no idea how the print run for SS3 actually worked.

The reason why I say that is typically sets had 100 cards to a sheet.
1 Sheet for UR's
1 Sheet for Rares
1 Sheet for Uncommons
1 Sheet for commons.

Starter decks were printed over a couple of sheets. The foil sheet typically had the starter deck foils, and the foil prize cards for the set.
Then there was then usually another sheet (or two? depending on the set) where the non-foil starter deck cards were printed.

Typically on the UR sheets for the booster sets, there was 4 copies of every UR.

I remember when they were producing SS3 there were delays because they (the printer) had a hard time collating SS3. Has anyone seen an Uncut sheet of SS3 UR's?

Because I'm thinking there was the Rumble Pack Sheets, there was the one UR sheet, or was there two UR sheets?
Either way, as we've already determined, there is numerically fewer SS3 UR's against the regular set UR's.

And the TB's which had never been seen else where obviously had a higher demand.

I think it's certainly the demand for the cards that makes them seem more rare than the actual print run. I know I collected 4 Footstomps and 5 Tap Out Matches for my collection alone. Other suitcasers probably did similar.

It was actually SS3 that made me decide not to collect 'remakes' separately anymore, so I just have 2 Tap Outs and 2 Footstomps (1 for Eugene's set).  So, there, extras for everyone else.. Tongue

And once again, the same seller getting high, high prices.

I've been testing the waters with certain UR cards over the past month now. It's still a hit and miss (Taker's Tombstone SS3 first sold for me at $31 and then the next one a couple weeks later sold for $15). I also sold a Dirty Taker for over $30 and then another for only $15.

But this seller seems to get top dollar every time. I took into consideration that my listings didn't clearly state that I would ship internationally (which I always have), so I corrected that and it didn't make a difference in sales.

Very confusing.

I was just grabbing numbers for illustrative purposes, even at 5x the effect that I was describing is still apparent.

It's probably a few people out there in bidding wars over hard to get cards (well for them at least). First one goes up they go back and forth and in your case a Takers Tombstone goes for $31, a few weeks later with one less person looking for the same card it only sells for $15. Not very surprising.

As far as this seller goes I haven't been paying attention to them or anything but for this First to Tap TB look at the recent completed listings:

http://www.ebay.com/csc/i.html?rt=nc&LH_Complete=1&_nkw=raw%20deal%20first%20to%20tap%20out%20match&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283

Only 1 TB version. Search for ones that are on sale now, only two are up on ebay right now and none of them are the TB version. It's not very surprising to me that it sold for $91.

Yes! Most of the high bidders on my auctions were outside the US. So offering international shipping really helps.
