Jim Ross answered a series of fan questions Saturday on Twitter including whether he'd ever consider joining TNA Wrestling, why Chris Benoit and Owen Hart have not been enshrined in the WWE Hall of Fame, why SmackDown isn't live, and more.

Matt Hardy returning to WWE: "Matt Hardy should get clean and sober & not worry about wrestling until his life isn't an embarrassment & being put at risk."

Why SmackDown isn't live on a weekly basis: "Smackdown isn't live because of exorbitant, increased tv production costs of keeping production crew on road all week."

If reports of him penning an autobiography are true: "Not true..more Internet dirt. I'm not in process of writing a book. 'maybe' some day."

If he'd ever join TNA Wrestling: "I'm a WWE guy plus TNA has excellent announcers & they don't need my services."

Why Owen Hart is not in the WWE Hall of Fame: "Owen Hart has not been inducted because of potential legal issues w/ his estate, etc."

Why Chris Benoit is not in the WWE Hall of Fame: "Why #ChrisBenoit not yet inducted to #HOF?.... You can't be serious."

The fan replied, "Benoit was a GREAT wrestler, you've got to give him credit for that."

Ross responded, "No one ever said Benoit wasn't a great wrestler did they? The last few days of his life precludes his HOF status."

Interesting and a shame about Owen. At least we can't blame the WWE every year when he isn't one of the inductees. Hopefully someday.

I'm curious what legal issues Owen's estate would have with WWE honouring Owen? Maybe concern they are profiting from his name?

I think TNA could definitely use JR's services. It's this kind of warped dedication to WWE that allows Vince to bring back JR just to humiliate him it seems.

As far as I have always heard his widow wants nothing to do with wrestling.

Three weeks after Owen's death, Hart launched a wrongful death lawsuit against the WWF, she included her children and Owen's parents on the lawsuit, which was settled out of court for approximately $18 million on November 2, 2000.[2] She set aside millions of the settlement to establish the Owen Hart Foundation.[3] She has managed the foundation since 1999.[1] Some of the money also went into trust funds for her children, until they are 21.[4] After the lawsuit, Martha separated herself from the majority of the Hart family.[4] She criticized those family members who worked against her with the WWF.[4] There is real-life tension between Martha and her sister-in-law Diana Hart-Smith.[1] Martha sued Diana and claims that Diana's book, Under the Mat: Inside Wrestling's Greatest Family, is both slanderous and libelous, and had it removed from markets; Martha was issued a public apology by the publishers, who were also required to give an undisclosed amount as a donation to the Owen Hart Foundation as stated in the settlement agreement. On June 22nd, 2010, Martha filed another lawsuit against Vince and Linda McMahon, this time for wrongfully using Owen's name and likeness in numerous DVDs under the WWE name, as well as for deceptive business practices, and not paying royalty payments to Owen's estate and his children.

That is probably the main reason that they aren't doing Owen Hart for the HoF. And yes, his widow doesn't want anything to do with wrestling to the point of distancing/cutting contact with most of the Hart family for not being with her in the wrongful death suit.
