It's official.  It is on the books.  And it's happening.  The 2012 Raw Deal World Championships will be held at Gen Con from August 16-19.  Here is all the information needed:


Location: ICC :: Hall F : Green :: 12--15
ALL EVENTS (sans World Championship) will have a entry fee of $2.  This is Gen Con policy, not ours.


THURSDAY AUGUST 16
11 AM: Introduction to Raw Deal
12 PM: Virtual Revolution
4 PM: Tornado Tag
8 PM: Royal Rumble (NON-QUALIFIER)

FRIDAY AUGUST 17
11 AM: Introduction to Raw Deal
12 PM: All Axxess
4 PM: Virtual All Axxess
8 PM: Tag Team (NON-QUALIFIER)

SATURDAY AUGUST 18
12 PM: Classic
4 PM: Virtual Classic
8 PM: Survival Of The Fittest (LAST CHANCE QUALIFIER)

SUNDAY AUGUST 19
9AM: 2012 Raw Deal World Championship


For the World Championship itself, bring decks for the following formats:

All Axxess
Raw Deal Classic
Virtual Revolution
Virtual All Axxess
Virtual Classic

And as with last year, there WILL NOT be a round voted out.  If you want to call yourself the Raw Deal World Champion, you'll have to prove it with a deck to support all 5 OFFICIAL formats.

Currently, we have only two people qualified for the World Championship, the 2011 World Champion Drew Marquez, and the (Charleston, WV) CharCon Qualifier winner Taylor Swanson.  I'm sure MANY more will be announced the closer we get to GenCon.  If you're interested in running Regional Qualifiers, the information to do so is posted...um...somew here in the RDPC section.

I plan on submitting the information within the next week.  And allow me to say this:  There will be three events added to the schedule (at least).  One Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  This is primarily for bookkeeping issues, to make sure we have the necessary number of event hours to provide us with at least two GM badges so events run smoothly.  One event is going to be one that I planned on us having last year, the "Survival Of The Fittest" Battle Royal.  Full details will be released soon.

I'm trying to remember how long we went on Sunday's event... There is a nonstop 7:15 PM flight out of IND on Sunday night, would that be feasible to try and make even if I were to stay to the end of all the festivities?

Its about 15 miles give or take and depending on traffic you could make it in 30 mins

Not yet.  I've been on quite the road trip for the last week, and I'm still trying to figure out how to correctly submit the information.  Should be submitted by the end of the week.

INFORMATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED!!!

Now, since we're going to be ON THE BOOKS for GenCon and GUARANTEED space, each event (sans the Championships) IS going to have a $2 cover.  Con rules, not ours.  Meaning, if you could register for the actual event instead of using generics, it would show them that we rule and need to be a mainstay there.  Anyway, here's what the schedule looks like as of right now, barring any changes from the Con or other scheduling conflicts:

As it looks now, I've only added one additional qualifier, the Last Chance "Survival Of The Fittest" to Saturday, an event that will not only have a slot in the Championship up for grabs, but something very special as well.  All the rules for that will be explained later.  Also, the World Championship has been moved up an hour to try and make sure we can get in as much actual playtime in the hall as possible.  Questions?  Comments?  Concerns?  Post em here.

Two more events have been added to the (proposed) schedule, mainly for bookkeeping and GM badge issues:

Yes, this is the same Rumble format that our good friend Neil Swint has developed and runs from time to time.  This time, we're doing it on the big state!!  NOTE:  This is NOT a World Qualifier, but there will be prize support.

FRIDAY
Tag Team (8pm)

Tag tournaments have all but been killed.  Until now.  It's time to crown the NEW World Tag Team Champions!  NOTE:  This is NOT a World Qualifier, but there will be prize support.

Worry not, the Tag Team format is going to be strictly Classic.  None of this broken hot garbage of Virtual.  None of the mess that is Revolution.  Straight up Classic.  Like the good old days.

I also updated the (PROPOSED) schedule above.  Some times were changed around.
