This Funkasaurus version of Clay is a blast! It's about time we had another "fun" character in the WWE. Kind of reminds me of the Godfather days. And I love his two dancers. Those girls really know how to "shake it". I truly hope they develop his character a little and he sticks around for a while, especially long enough to warrant consideration as a Raw Deal Superstar,  Wink What do you guys think?

I second this he is very entertaining, wish he would have some matches that aren't squash matches, that is all I have seen Sad

As fun as he is there are 2 major flaws
1. He needs more than squash matches to flush out his character
2. His gimmick will get old sooner as oppose to later I can't think of one person who had a dancing gimmick as a solo wrestler that had any kind of longevity in that gimmick

I am surprised to read this. His gimmick already bores me. And that hat really brings out the ape looking mouth. I can't really judge his wrestling yet, just the gimmick. It sounds like I may be in the minority though.

While I'm not a huge fan of the Funkasaurus gimmick, I'd like to see more from him as a wrestler. I think he's got potential. But he is held back by one thing...

I like King Hippo....... Undecided

I think he's got a shot to succeed, but he definatley needs to get past the squash matches at some point. Id imagine he will, i mean, characters have come in like this in the past and eventually gone on to have a real wrestling run. Chris Masters had WEEKS of Master Lock victories before he finally got into true matches. And i feel like somebody else came in and just dominated for a couple months against jobbers until the green light to actually wrestle. Im thinking it may have been Sheamus but i dont remember.

Either way, he's got a love it or hate it gimmick. Me, i love it. And i think theres enough of the crowd to continue it, as long as he starts to actually wrestle. I would say, a majority fo the time. this kinda character doesnt catch on, but there are exceptions. The god Father, as was mentioned, and i feel like characters like The Hurricane and Gold Dust eventually got by on their intro and characters. I think theres hope, but the 1 minutes matches cant go on much longer.

Hey, I like King Hippo too, it's just hard to take Funkasaurus seriously when you expect someone to punch him until his pants fall down, thwack him in the gut, and score a TKO.

Or when your nickname is "Funkasaurus."

And that gimmick's not just a Masters/Sheamus kind of thing. I'm blanking on the number of people they've given that schtick to, but it's as much of a staple as the heel turn. Clay, Masters, Sheamus, Batista, Lesnar, going back further Goldberg, hell, they even gave that gimmick to Ludvig Borga and Giant Gonzalez.

Anytime someone plays the "Somebody call my Momma" music, it's a good time, and I can get behind them.

The gimmick is getting old fast IMO. He should start doing something else other than squash matches by now.

Remember that 3 weeks of TV shows is not even 1/3 of the country in house shows.  They want to make sure everyone's aware of him and that he's getting a good reception (and not just a flash reaction in certain areas) before moving forward with him.  It's business as usual for the WWE.

He reminds me of Jumbo Flapjack from Saturday Night Slam Masters. If he teamed with Sin Cara, he could easily be Scorp.

Ahh the first week i was confused..then caught myself humming his theme (I also miss Ernest Miller) so I enjoyed it..smackdown arrives..same thing..raw again..same thing (heck they even have him squashing the same jobbers from time to time, poor heath slater) royal rumble ppv hits..same thing..but against DREW MCINTYRE?!? Ugh..so now personally with me he has x-pac heat or if anyone remembers his heel run in wwe...marc mero heat. Drew is a good talent and if positioned right can be a championship quality heel on the other hand Brodus is already stuck in limbo with this character, i know it's only been like..a month but still a lot of wrestling fans are fickle. We could take R-Truth for example when he was a face for the first time sure he got a loud reaction for his entrance because it almost made the audience play along, that's almost like judging a heel's ability as a  character when the crowd says "What?" So yes the crowd still gets their little kicks out of Brodus' entrance but once that pyro goes off I'm just waiting for him to walk to the back. That's just my opinion, sorry for the wall of text.
