That will easily be able to do what you're asking.

Considering I can do everything you're asking on my POS (Piece of...) Laptop that's a decade old.

With where computers are at today, it's not so much the power as the know how.

Editing film will be easier with even more ram, so the question is - is your motherboard maxed out at 4 gigs of ram, or can you expand it up to 8 later?

If the price is right, you're solid. (I didn't do the conversion in $$ to compare)

For browsing the web and most of your typical activities you don't need a ton of power, but the 1.6GHz AMD E-350 has me slightly worried along with the integrated graphics card since you mentioned photo/video editing. If you plan to do any kind of serious video editing I'd recommend a desktop with a separate GPU (Video Card) or the equivalent onboard GPU power in a laptop. Its easier to get GPU power in a desktop vs laptop, but usually cost more in a laptop and you're severely limited in you upgrading capabilities with the laptop.

Last thing you want to do is buy a computer for a specific task and find out you can't because of hardware limitations.

I'd check out the software you plan to use for editing pictures, sound, and video and see what their recommended specs are before you buy.

Hope this helps.

For $269 its a nice laptop, something better will run like a AMD A4-A6 processor the A6 is amazing for the cost, like this one for instance:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246302

Since the processor benchmarks much higher and has a better gpu it will last you longer but it does run a bit more, but 429.99 isn't bad at all considering the performance the a6 has to offer which is higher than a i3 or an intel i5 processor, and lenovo is most likely a much better brand as well and uses better components.

Hey Mitch, That 269 is pounds. Which is roughly 425 in USD.

I agree that you should look over the requirements for the software you want to use and go off that as a guide for what you are going to get. I do like that laptop and I think it could do everything you want pretty easily aside from any weird brand conflicts that might occur with said software. As for Zslash's concern about the graphics card, you should be fine, after all it has the Radeon 6300 series and the recommended to run Star Wars the Old Republic is only a 5800 series Radeon.

Yeah this is true, my main concern was the video editing aspect...I know trying to get a smooth RAM preview in after effects or premiere with HD video can depend more on the gpu, but if its more of a hobby scenario you should be fine.

every single laptop I've seen that is in this market is much high price then this one (in this country at least). In honest it ticks all the boxes I want for a laptop, it will be better then the one i have now, it's in my price range and available.

I don't really want to make anything on par with Monsters right now in regard to film, just to play with an enter some composition nothing more, more a hobby then a carrier.

Anyway, thanks for the help guys, it was truly helpful...

Mind I haven't bough it yet and if anyone can find me better in the uk, then I'll take it without question

If you can look for a amd A4 or A6 processor or Intel i3-i5, just amd tends to run cheaper.
