Well, what if you ban heat and bs cards too? Will be more balanced right?
backstage cards? allow?
However, I think some superstars will also be quite dominating

see: Home Team, HHH, Evolution, BOD, BFM, Batista... Even Hogan is gonna be bloody disgusing

On the other side, the Rock and all his incarnations can go F themselves.

I want to play some RD. i wanna organize the long awaited Raw Deal tournament in Singapore

your idea i find quite good, so I suggest the basics raw Deal for the first one.

no backlash deck apart from superstar specifics, no promos, no revo, no andre, no heat, no blindside, no chain format.

any comments?

we should look into a superstar ban list, though ATM only andre is on it

i dont really see BFM being a problem, 2 cards and its done

Blindside wise, despite the apparent OP ness of BS Beal Toss its either that or one guy has no F:0 or gets the only 1 or 2 he has reversed and therefore loses

Sounds like you guys should revisit the "Velocity" format.

(It needs updating anyway.)

Piper without his manager/ backlash deck makes him weaker. But he wrecks entire decktypes. Maybe, and Maybe he should be copnsidered, but not too keen on it as without a BL deck, blindside or heat he is just a 8shs character. BFM, Evolution etc could probaby take him easily

Kennedy sucks in a format where Backlash cards allowed are superstar specifics...

Well, to comment on the actual title of this post (at least for here in the USA!  Grin) ...

RD is still played here in So-Cal. The numbers have dropped a bit, but we still have monthly tournaments that draw around 8 players each time.

I'm hoping REV5 sparks interest in those who have recently stopped playing (and those who have been out of it for some time) and the new prize support adds incentive to play in events.

We released the brand new Backstage card at yesterday's 2010 ACMT (only had 8 players, but we raised some good money for the City of Hope Cancer Research Center) and everyone was excited about it (even though only 1 was offered. It will be a VERY hard card to come by, trust me).

Powers that be can decide if, when and where this new card can be shown. I've already scanned and watermarked all 14 different versions of the card (See MediumSexy for the scans I sent him.)

Results and winning deck info coming soon.

So  [good]?

Should we set a date and get people for some nostalgia? I think I can put up some free prize support. I also think I can get some people to donate some stuff out.

Inform your friends. Sound them out. lmk.

As a nod to the store, I also suggest a symbolic entry fee of a dollar. S$1. The money will be accumulated and eventually used to purchase the old raw deal cards at Comics Mart (thank them for their support, and not let them get stuck with dusty packs and starters) and we can have a big and free RD Draft eventually.

Current prize support I can donate:

Looking for more donations by anyone (Random rares are good)

Backstage appearance- Snitsky
Backstage Appearance- QFA?
Raw Deal 5th Anniversary
Divine Intervention
Raw Deal 5th Anniversary
Divine Intervention
Spinner belt
Managed by the Divas
Managed by the Divas
Managed by the Divas
Livin the Good Life
Hardcore Holly GRA
Old School Manager
Through All these years
Revo intercon belt
revo ecw world title belt
ECW ONS
ECW ONS
Doink
Doink
Random rares, promos, So much larger, bigger than life etc etc.

Now I can safely say the above crap are not really wanted by anyone, as we veteran players have it in our collections collecting dust. AND IN MULITPLE copies. Some of these are burnt on a bonfire when Raw deal was announced dead, ashes to ashes etc.

We are all here to play and renew our friendships.

So I plan this for prize structure

All will be randomized

If you show up. pay your S$1, play till the end. you will get your chance to randomly take 1 card. It can be a crap rare. it can be a BSA, belt or stuff (Prolly roll a dice for fairness as foilness of card improves with age)... In the end, we get a long awaited chance to kick some ass via RD again.

Are you with me?

edit: added couple more cards

I think we should just stick with AA first before we come up with anything funny.

I believe a lot of us have difficulties to even remember how to play now, so we should just play normally to let all of us get the touch back.

Are we following the rules RDPC set and using their cards? Or are we playing with what Barron(RIP) left behind?

I think to play easy mode is best, so easy mode = as above.

No chain, no backlash to worry about, no Cow On Ice. Just back to the basics Kick/ Superkick/ Austin Elbow Smash/ Get Crowd Support/ Austin patented kick/ Stone Cold Stunner. No headstrong. Back to the old days of actually crunching your brain for the numbers to come up correctly

DLB/ Roll under the ring/ clutch apply, sit on an MI, then throw opponent out of the ring etc into those many cards we have not seen for so long.

Basically, if you want me to play AA now, I also a bit lost, Look under the Ring, clutch/ clutch, Apply/ Double the Value/ Trademark/ Trademark/ Trademark/ Trademark finisher/ game. I don't want to see another 9D core assult coming at me under FOA. I'll have to reform Benoit for that crap

Just an excuse to play some Raw deal. Bring both decks. I'll take on your AA, you take on my challenge

Doesn't have that much resource though.

Anyway, as I was asking, going by RDPC rulings?

no backlash deck apart from superstar specifics, no promos, no revo, no andre, no heat, no blindside, no chain format.

So is this format called Singapore Velocity (SGV)Huh?

Velocity was made to be an evolving format. With "Virtual" filling most of the loopholes, how about taking SGV and running with it, Frankie? I'll keep it updated on RawDealPlanet.com if you like!

Neuromancer
RDPC: No problem.

No resources? A deck with no no backlash deck apart from superstar specifics, no promos, no revo, no andre, no heat, no blindside, no chain format just builds itself. I'm digging out my Kicks and Superkicks. Play DX and my 1/2 my deck deck is done.

Medium sexy: Let us try it out before we commit. We may like it, we may hate it. It'll be a shame to put it up on your site and have nobody play it after... No matter what, credits to LordFa9 as he came up with the base first.

edit: F#$k... no promos= no DX... Guess 2MPT then, if only I can remember where is my 2mpt...
edit 2: Cannot find 2mpt too...
I need to find some bigass superstar with more than 30 foils so I can just slot in Step aside/ Escape moves and call it a day

no backlash deck apart from superstar specifics, no promos, no revo, no andre, no heat, no blindside, no chain format.

Definition of Promo: Cards given out by CI for prize support or tourny participations.

Holiday sets are not considered promos. They are holiday SETs. Does anyone have any objections?

Would appreciate if a rules lawyer can give a good one here. Which is an easy way to determine promo or none promo?

Easiest way is to go to the Comic Images website: Link

Then all the cards under Promotional and Tournament Prize are banned. It separates the holiday sets from them so you've got an easy list to access.

However, some of those cards are released under survivor series etc.

First thing to agree is that these cards cannot be played
http://www.comicimages.com/rawdeal/product/prizes.htm

Cards here cannot be played unless released in an official set
http://www.comicimages.com/rawdeal/product/promos.htm
Eg: Hulk Hogan has been released in an official set- Ok to use

Again, the question: To allow or not to allow
http://www.comicimages.com/rawdeal/product/holiday.htm

Is there anything here that will break the format? I'm inclined to allow since it allows more options in deckbuilding

gonna be pretty stoned, coming off a night shift

anyway whats the stance on superstar specific chain and heat cards? My vote is to allow them but to ignore the chain and heat trait

aw what the hell, try that for all chain and heat cards might have some fun stuff come up

I was actually thinking about that.

no backlash deck, no heat, no blindside, no chain apart from superstar specifics.

no promos, no revo, no Andre.

Definition of Promo: Cards given out by CI for prize support or tourny participations.

Holiday sets are not considered promos. They are holiday SETs. Does anyone have any objections?

So ok, lets do the above. Superstar specifics heat/ chain/ blindside are allowed. Or else, lets keep it simple. In case it turns out to be boring, we'll do mods slowly, and bring a AA deck just in case (AA means anything goes, except virtual sets. I doubt anyone has virtual cards here in SG))

Please tell the rest of the people.

2pm at Serene Centre this Sunday. Any objections?

Lucky my AA deck has survived, collecting dust. Need to relearn how to play AA Raw deal (Looks at UFS life counters)
