I love the fact you're using "live" pics for the superstar cards, too, I always really liked the promo Evolution because it had that style of "art"

I really liked the SS3 version of YFH, where he was in a suit.

Today, a spoiler and an update.  First, the spoiler:

As for the update, as of this moment all 300 NRD1 cards are print ready.  I am now transferring them to PDF format, so you should be able to download and print them at your leisure.  Stay tuned for the final product, and with any luck I'll be able to sucker Brian into putting a news post on the main page about it.

I don't think you need to sucker anyone. You've put quite a bit of effort into this. Good job.

Brian agrees and has already pointed at the Submit an Article link, so Bryson can have what he would like posted on the front page.

I dont know about that one. The Rock SS1 Face card IMO is one of the best photos for a SS. Then again it is MY opinion but most people that have seen it have agreed with me too.

Bryson, good job on this! I like the stuff you have modified from the old sets and the cards that you made better or just went a different way. I like the fact you aren't trying to re-invent the wheel, just give it a rubber tire for traction and a shiny spinning rim....  Grin

Yep, good catch to both of you that noticed.  I've fixed it up for the final release, so as soon as I can get somewhere that lets me have a reasonable upload speed, I should have a lot of downloads for everyone ^_^

All of The Rock's face cards barring the original People's Champ were pretty badass looking.

I guess I would be in the minority, but I've always hated the face cards that, for the lack of a better word (and I liked the way superradjoe put it), had the "live" pictures instead of the posed ones. Same would go for pretty much my entire play group, though it'd still be on the opposite side of the majority, it would seem, of the TCO community. The posed face cards just seemed more appropriate for presenting a superstar. I dunno, it's one of those things that can't be explained; just a matter of taste. I also absolutely hate the way the SS3 face cards were made. The close-ups, the way the SSV/SHS box had those angles instead of the curve. To me, the best face card template started in Velocity, where instead of having a boxed off area for the Superstar Ability, it faded into into the pic, pretty much the same way Backlas cards have their pictures fade into the borders. Now those were cool.

Don't get me wrong, the quality of your work is awesome for what you're trying to achieve, I just don't like the style, if that makes sense.

I understand, and I appreciate your honesty.  For the record, though, the style of these face cards was not a matter of choice so much as a matter of practicality.

As I don't have the ability, nor the resources, to find a suitable posed shot, cut it out, and make it look as crisp as the Velocity+ cards, we decided to go with the non-posed shots.  Even though I recognize some may prefer the posed look, it was never really an option for NRD.

Hopefully the way the superstar cards look won't affect your enjoyment of the game itself.

Do you mean you need to find a good host for the files, or a decent internet connection? Because if it's the former, megaupload or something similar could be a good solution in the meantime.

How big are the files anyways, if you don't mind my asking?

The latter.  I'm living in a...complex of sort at the moment, that allows me minimal access to the outside world.  My internet comes from an aircard, which is understandably spotty.  This sunday I'm going to try to hit up an internet cafe and upload all the files, though.

How big are the files anyways, if you don't mind my asking?

Each printable PDF is about 10 megs, and there's about 34 pages, so about 340ish megs total.

About how many cards will be on each page, and will I be able to remove cards from the page so I can get just the ones I want?
Curious since money is tight and ink cartridges hurt my wallet.

As it stands, there's 9 cards per page.

Moving the cards is up in the air at the moment.  Because it's a PDF, you'd need some kind of PDF editor if you wanted to, but from there it would be up to you.

I personally love the Tazz superstar card in Fully Loaded. He looked like a Bad A$$.

And I don't have that one! Sad

I'm stuck with SS2 Taz, which my friend loves to call "Member's Only Tazz", as it appears to us that Red Hook's premier announcer loves Member's Only Jackets.
