Umaga
Starting Hand Size: 0
Superstar Value: 3
Superstar Ability:
During your draw phase, instead of drawing, randomly discard 1 card.
During the match, after either player successfully plays a card, draw 1 card.

1. For Umaga's ability does playing a reversal count as playing a card?

Dirty Low Blow
Strike / Reversal
As a maneuver, this card is +8D and an additional +2D for each other maneuver in your Ring with Target: GROIN.
As a reversal, when played from your Hand, reverse any maneuver of 11D or greater.
Draw 2 cards.
F: 14   D: 2

2. Does the "Draw 2 cards" line from Dirty Low Blow only happen when you play it as a reversal or when you play it as either a maneuver or reversal?

3. Is there going to be an "Ask Bryson" type thread for these types of questions?

Sorry if these were answered elsewhere, I skimmed through and didn't see anything.

Thanks in advance.

Randy Orton
Starting Hand Size: 7
Superstar Value: 4
Superstar Ability:
If a card or effect you control would have you discard any number of cards, you may then remove one card in your Ringside from the game.  If you do, shuffle one card from your Ringside into your Arsenal and your opponent chooses one card in your Ringside that you did not discard for this effect and adds it to your hand.

4. When choosing a card to return to Randy Orton's hand, can you choose another copy of the card that was discarded?

It's a card, ain't it?  Smiley  Yes, any player playing any card (except Pre-match, as in NRD abilities are not active in Pre-match, but his Manager covers that rather well) triggers Umaga's ability.

It is outside of the 'as a reversal' or 'as a maneuver' specifications, so it happens either way.

There's an FAQ thread, but this works too.  As one of the people who helped Bryson with the rules structure for New Raw Deal, and the previous Rules Manager for classic Raw Deal, I'm quite sure I can help out.  Smiley

Hmm.  I don't see why not.  It doesn't say anything about 'no card with the same title', so if he has 2 Body Slams in his Ringside, you can give him back the one he hadn't tossed aside.

Awesome! Thanks very much.

I noticed however that on Umaga's ability it reads, "During the match..." so Pre-match cards would not be counted with this wording anyway. Is this incorrect?

Nope, that's correct, but it's essentially there for redundancy and ease of play since his ability isn't on during the PM anyway.

5. When playing this week I noticed that the new text on Over Sell Maneuver makes it so that you can't use a Sustained Damage already in play as you don't "take damage" anymore. Am I missing something, or are they not supposed to work together now?

Sustained Damage
Mid-match Reversal
Can only be played after a successfully played maneuver.
When this card is in your Ring, whenever you are applying damage you may discard any number of cards and the damage is reduced by 2 for each card discarded.
F: 0   D: 0

Over Sell Maneuver
Reversal
Can only be played after a successfully played maneuver.
Blank that maneuver's text until the end of turn and end your opponent's turn.  Instead of taking damage, overturn cards equal to the maneuver's damage and draw up to 2 cards.

Correct.

It doesn't make any sense to Sustain something you're overselling, in any event.  It's an OVER sell.
