Since there's not much NRD strategy discussion going on I thought I'd try to spark some. How would you build the Samoan Bulldozer?

I thought playing Technical Grappler Umaga would be a good idea but I've found he draws out his deck too fast. And even though an Umaga deck that runs out of steam is funnily appropriate, I'd like more of a fighting chance to win. Stick him in a cell, especially, and he is in huge trouble.

I've found that with the threat of When You Thought, the only reliable way of pulling off the Spike would be to play it after Show No Mercy. DDTs would really help to set up into that. I haven't managed to pull that one off yet, though Sad.

The good thing about the spike getting When You Thought'd is that it still ends up back in your Backlash shortly after via When You Thought's text.  Make sure you're packing at least one 'Change in Programming Lineup' too, because it'll help you keep alive against stall deck.

Consider playing Showman as well.  You can get a lot of extra damage out of hitting Turn the Tide -> Samoan Spike.  Submissionist can be pretty useful too, as it helps you better set-up for a buzzsaw turn (Rest Hold and Triangle Choke).

I say use things that shuffle into your deck. Like Roll out of the Way, or Catch My Breath. I dont remember the timing, if you will draw for ability before or after the shuffle in. But those are either Shuffle in draw 2, or draw, shuffle, draw. but they will fill your hand really fast. and your opponent will double think reversing those, as they dont have a powerful effect that is effecting them like GM rules and so forth which would prevent their ability to reverse your maneuvers.

You would draw before you shuffle. Outside effects before card text.

Should I lay down on the lawn and let them run over me with lawnmowers? Should I let them trample me with RAGING ELEPHANTS?!
