I know there's a similar topic to this in other forums, but an NRD-specific one seems beneficial to me.

Just curious for those who play:

1. Do you play with physical cards? If so, where at? And how many players are in your area?
2. Do you play online on Lackey? Please provide your online contact info if you'd like to play.

If you don't play NRD, or used to and don't anymore, any reason why? What would it take to get you playing?

I play Raw Deal at my local card Store. Alternate Universes at Holmes, PA. We have around 5-7 people that play. I don;t play NRD cause I don't have time anymore to jump on my computer to play with school and work

I still play physically.  I got my wife-to-be (3 weeks!) into the game, and we drill against each other.
Also, I'd like to get Lackey running on a regular basis again.  Once I do, I'll likely be around to do the J-O-B to anyone at anytime. Tongue

What would it take to get your area to try playing with the physical cards, as opposed to on a computer?

I don't think anyone in my area will cause they seemed to not like the cards. they didn't give me a reason so it looks like i am the only one that would play with them

You're not the only one who'd play. My big issue is we need a larger pool of players. If we could get 5 or 6, it's a different story than if there's just two. (Also, I'm cheap.)

A full playset costs ~$50 to print & cut, less if you plan to split the Superstar cards amongst yourselves. This is WAY less than I'm sure anyone has spent on a set of Raw Deal.

Anyways, once you start playing and maybe get others to try them out I'm sure you can grow the number of players. Worth a shot, I'd say.

If you're interested in trying it without the financial cost, just print out a deck worth of cards in b/w on a regular printer, and sleeve them overtop of other cards.

That way you can get a feel for how the game plays in your community without buying the cards straight-up.

What is it this company is requesting?

I would like to give it a try and see how it plays.  However; I thought there were some differences in the way this version is played.  Is there a location for the NRD rules that I could check out?

The site is: http://www.fileprint.org

You're meant to be able to upload PDFs to the site and then order prints of them. Unfortunately, when I try to upload stuff, it just won't work.

The differences are functionally minor, so if you've played Raw Deal Classic you're already 95% of the way there.

Check out this thread for most other questions:  http://www.teamcanadaonline.net/index.php/topic,5206.0.html

If you have any further, I'd be happy to answer.

i was very skeptical about the online sets, but oh my god, they look so freakin awesome,

and it looks like the people who took over online have got their crap together.

i may consider a return and tell the former raw dealers of melbourne, australia about how good a job you guys have done.

I'm a pro wrestler here, ive always wanted a fantasy raw deal cards made up of my persona.

can anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't play NRD simply because none of the old Raw Deal players are really interested in the game anymore and I don't really talk to any of them anymore. After my store closed we started going to another store in town, most of the players kind of stopped gaming all together and the others stopped coming around when UFS died. A few of them still go in there but not when I'm around and I doubt they would be interested in playing RD ever again. As for why I don't play online, I just hate playing any card game online. I don't really know why but I've always hated it.

The NRD stuff looks good (although I've only really skimmed through some of it, reading them makes me want to play the game then I realize there isn't anyone to play the game with  Cry ) I'd love to play but I don't see it ever happening. It's been like 2 1/2-3 years since I last played a game of Raw Deal.
