2-3 days ago, there was a report from Stephen A. Smith that AI is planning for to retire. A day later, he's considering a comeback.

Okay, no teams in NBA really want AI since he would demand to be a starter and basically destroy any teams' chemistry in a heart beat. But he sure still can play, and still want to play. He could play for any contending teams such as Lakers or Celtics (see Stephon Marbury) for the last race for his first ring. The problem is it would be tough for him to make up his mind to be a veteran bench player.

Until he swallows his pride, no teams will seriously want to bring him in.

Wow, I can't believe my thread was the last one before TCO went down. I had nothing to do with it!

BTW, Iverson got back to his house, 76ers, has played pretty much below par, and is somehow in East All-star starters. It seems to work pretty well like Favre.......

Pulling a Brett Favre?Huh?

That is pitiful.

Let them do what they want. Second guessing is human nature, they just are doing it publically. Hard to give up what they have been passionately doing for majority of their lives.

This is nothing like Favre. Iverson "retired" because nobody wanted him. He still wanted to play. Then the 76ers called him so he came back.

And Garnett starting is just as bad as iverson.

I thought he retired because he didn't want to play for the team he was on. He didn't want to play for them, retired, came back (what a week latter?) and signed with the 76ers. Sounds like he pulled a Favre to me.

He wanted to start. That's completely different. Iverson didn't originally start, retire, then want to come back to the grizzlies.

After he got released from the grizzlies, he retired because no team wanted him period. It had nothing to do with him not wanting to play with the grizzlies.

Stop being a bitter Packers fan and being mad at everyone who changes their mind.  Smiley Even though Iverson never changed his mind.

"I would like to announce my plans to retire from the National Basketball Association. I always thought that when I left the game, it would be because I couldn’t help my team the way that I was accustomed to. However, that is not the case.

I still have tremendous love for the game, the desire to play, and a whole lot left in my tank. I feel strongly that I can still compete at the highest level."
