Finally, the WCW has come back to.. wait, that doesn't really fit.  Smiley  But at last, the promised revision is here!

STING:
It's Showtime! - Throwback
Pre-Match Event
Your Starting Hand Size is +3, and your opponent’s Starting Hand Size is -2.
His It's Showtime is blank.
When he has a maneuver card in his Ring, your Sting-specific maneuvers are -10F; when he does not, your Ability is blank.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent

DDP:
DDP
Starting Hand Size: 6     Superstar Value: 3     WCW logo
Superstar Ability:  At the end of the Pre-match phase, search your Arsenal for Give & Take or Hide & Seek, put it in your Ring, and shuffle your Arsenal; cards with those titles are Permanent and cannot be blanked.
When you have any number of Fan Favorite cards in your Ring, your 360-Degree Clothesline maneuvers are -8F and can only be reversed by Unique reversals.

Your The Diamond Cutter is -10F for every DDP-specific card in your Ring

Accompanied by Kimberly
Backstage Card
Non-unique cards in your Ringside are considered Cheater and Fan Favorite.
When you play a non-Pre-match card that is Cheater or Fan Favorite, draw 1 card.
During your opponent’s turn, you may put this card into your Ring to reverse a non-Unique non-maneuver card.
Unique     (RMS logo)

Self-High Five!
Pre-Match Event
Your first Cheater Action or Fan Favorite Action of printed 3F or less played each turn is an Antic instead and can be reversed as if it was a Multi.  Your opponent cannot play The Road to Victory when you play a Cheater or Fan Favorite card.
Your maneuvers can only receive a maximum of +4D and/or +2 Stun Value increase from other cards.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     (RMS logo)

It's Me... It's Me... It's D-D-P
Mid-Match Action
Your opponent cannot respond to this card.
Shuffle up to # cards from your Ringside into your Arsenal and your maneuvers are +#D and -#F for the rest of this turn, where # is equal to double the number of Cheater or Fan Favorite cards in your Ring.
F: 0     D: 0     Unique

STEINERS:
THE STEINER BROTHERS
Starting Hand Size: 7     Superstar Value: 4     WCW logo
Tag Team Superstar Ability:  Your Backstage Area may contain up to 2 copies of Arm Bar Takedown, Arm Drag, Atomic Drop, Belly To Back Suplex, Belly To Belly Suplex, Body Slam, Drop Toe Hold, Hip Toss, Press Slam, Russian Leg Sweep, Snap Mare, and/or Vertical Suplex.  You may play non-Backstage cards from your Backstage Area as if played from hand or Backlash.
Your Arsenal may only contain 45 cards that are not maneuvers, and you may not pack any Title Belts except the Tag Team Title Belts.
Your Ability cannot be blanked.

University of Michigan
Pre-Match Venue
You may play this card first in the Venue phase, regardless of Superstar Value, Ability, or card effect.  Your opponent cannot play Dallas, Texas or Denville, New Jersey.
When you play a non-Superstar-Specific maneuver, your opponent may discard 3 cards; when he does not, that maneuver is now Multi.  Your maneuvers are -1F for each maneuver in your Ringside, and cannot be reversed by non-Unique reversals of 5D or greater.

F: 0     D: 0     Unique     Permanent     (RMS logo)

Also, that horrible picture on Lex Luger's Running Forearm has been replaced, thanks to WWE.com putting up a Lex section, heh.  Now here's the links to download the updated files, either alone or as a full set:

WOW! These cards are just beautiful.  Grin

Amazing work by all those involved.

Also, the files seem to repeat each other. The WCWInvasion2.doc repeats DDP, Saturn, Steiner Brothers & Harlem Heat. Is this intended? Looks like everything is all within WCWInvasion1.doc.

Dang you'll have to explain the DDP stuff. Now don't get me wrong, I like the less wordy and mathy ability. But I have no idea how you arrived at those changes to his cards.

Few things:

1.) I guess I should actually be glad that Lackey failed to save when I attempted to make my first deck using DDP. I was getting confused about how to utilize his ability in the first place, and this seems to make things a lot simpler (which is good for those of us trying to re-start our interest in the game).

2.) I realize this is extra work, and everyone on this project has done a lot already to make it such a success. However, has anyone considered posting "starter decks' with the releases like CI did with new sets in order to educate the gaming public on potential issues with the superstars and suggested ideas? I know it sounds lazy, but some of my decks just started with the premises established by the starter decks and reinforced the strengths and shored up the weaknesses. I realize that I will have to learn the cards and how they interact at some point in order to make my own decks, but it would be nice to have a deck to jump on Lackey with and try before I dedicate an hour or more to deck construction for a superstar(s) that I may have issues playing with.

As much as I like the "starter" idea, in a lot of ways it wouldn't work for some people.  DDP, for example, has both Cheater and Fan Favorite mechanics, yet can only pack one or the other.  Releasing a Cheater deck hinders part of his ability, while a Fan Favorite one suggests it's the stronger build.

But it's something to think about.  Maybe (this is a HUGE maybe) it will be implemented in the future.

The biggest issue I see with that is a lack of basic reversals.  I don't believe, even with the Throwbacks we make, that we could make a deck with only the Unique maneuvers from R4/WCW/R5.  It would require cards already printed in the game (I'd be recommending Shoot Forearm for a Cheater DDP, for example) and we run into potential legal issues... I've NO desired to open the door to lawsuits from Comic Images, WWE, or both.  Smiley

Just by producing these cards aren't you theoretically infringing on their copyrights?

I wouldn't say so, it's your interoperation of there template nothing more. That’s like saying that you can’t use a logo even if you change it… well then it’s not that companies logo anymore it’s your version of it.

But I always recall Barron and Mike talking about how they owned the Raw Deal engine, so wouldn't it at least be infringing on THEIR/his copyright?

I'm quite sure, legal issues or not, I'm not getting sued by a deceased person.  Wink

Mike is aware, we talked about the cards the other day, and he's fine with it too... but he also knows I'm going forward, not infringing on the old stuff they've already made (Throwbacks aside).

Anyway, the question of 'can we make starter decks' is answered with 'highly unlikely, sorry'.

Thanks for taking care of finalizing the WCW Revision. I will admit, though, that I'm quite disappointed I didn't get the chance to test out DDP a bit more - I thought I had found a way to make his old ability work quite nicely. On the other hand, it wasn't anything near a "top tier" deck; the Pre-match was kind of lacking a little thing called "defense."

His revised cards still keep him as an "interesting" Superstar, so I can't complain about that.
