Morgan eventually gets the pin on Hernandez for the pin. Hernandez doesn't seem too happy as he leaves. Pope vs. Morgan is set for the semi-finals. The other side of the tournament is still left.

8-Card Stud Match:
-Mr. Anderson vs. Kurt Angle

Anderson comes out first. He goes to the ring and reaches for the mic. He fumbles is as it comes down. His first words: "that was intentional." Then he does his regular routine. Angle makes his way to the ring and our 8-card stud bout is underway. Angle out-wrestling Anderson on the mat early. Anderson uses the chain Angle wore to the ring on Angle and cuts him open with it. Angle is bleeding from the forehead now and Anderson is finally getting some offense in. Angle hits a suplex out of nowhere on Anderson. He hangs on and hits two more suplexes in a row. Both guys are down now and Angle is wiping some of the blood out of his face. Angle is up and waiting for Anderson. He tries the Angle slam but Anderson counters into a slam of his own. Anderson is untieing the turnbuckle in one of the ring corners. The ref stops him and tries retieing it. As he reties it, Anderson goes to the opposite end of the ring and pulls the turnbuckle off that side instead. He tries to slam Angle face-first into the unprotected corner but Angle blocks it. Angle hits an Angle Slam and pins Anderson but Anderson kicks out at two. Angle is up and he pulls the straps down. He slaps on the ankle lock. Anderson fights his way out of the hold. He gets up and he is limping. Angle misses a dive into the corner. Anderson hits the Mic Check on Angle and tries a pin. Anderson gets the 1-2-3 for the clean pinfall victory.

Winner: Mr. Anderson

After The Match: Anderson Kicks Angle While He's Down

Angle is still laid out in the ring and Mr. Anderson grabs Angle's chain from ringside. The same chain he used to open Angle up. He lays it across Angle's chest and spits on it. He walks off, leaving Angle laying. Mr. Anderson will fight either Mick Foley or Abyss in the next round.

Backstage: Eric Bischoff w/ Mick Foley & Abyss

Bischoff tells both guys he needs to make sure that there will be no shananigans. Bischoff reminds them if they try anything, he's taking Abyss' mask off. Abyss flips out but Foley calms him down. Bischoff makes Foley-Abyss a no disqualification match. He says the reason is because he wants them to use "this." He holds up the barbed wire bat. He says if either guy doesn't use it, off comes the mask. Foley says they'll use it. Abyss says he can't, he doesn't want to hurt Mick. End segment.

8-Card Stud Match:
(No Disqualification)
-Abyss vs. Mick Foley

Both guys go at it early. "Use the bat" chant from the crowd. Abyss picks up the bat but puts it down instead. He's telling Foley he can't do it. Foley slaps him in the face, basically daring him to use it. Foley continues to bitch-slap Abyss around the ring. Now he's going at him with punches. Abyss finally starts firing back. Abyss knocks Foley out of the ring. Foley slams Abyss across the guard rail. He grabs a steel chair and blasts Abyss in the back with it. Double bang-bang from Foley as he throws Abyss back in the ring. "Use the bat" chant again erupts from the Impact Zone. Foley slams Abyss on the ringside steps. He moves away from the tacks and chokeslams Foley regularly. Abyss has a small sock and is setting it up for Mr. Socko. "Use the sock" chant from the crowd. Foley counters and hits a double-arm DDT on Abyss. Foley goes for Mr. Socko but Abyss has it. Foley pulls the ref down, takes his shoe off and then takes his sock off. We have dueling Mr. Sockos from both guys now. Foley's wins over. Abyss fades down now. The ref is checking his arm. Foley goes for the bat. He turns around and Abyss nails a Blackhole Slam on Foley onto the tacks. He looks sad that he did it but pins Foley to end the match and advance in the tourney. Abyss continues to look apologetic.

All guys battle it out in a free-for-all early in the match. 3D preveils, knocking both Nasty Boys members to the floor. Now it's a tag-team match. Saggs works on Brother Ray for a while before tagging in Knobs. I don't think Knobs could be any heavier by the way. Knobs calls for the Pit Stop but Brother Ray avoids it. He slams Saggs down and goes for a pin. Saggs kicks out at two. Brother Ray tags in Devon. All four guys are brawling again. Two on the floor and two in the ring. It's turning into a hardcore match now. The crowd wants tables. Brooke Hogan is shown sitting in the front row. Knobs eye looks to be legitimately swelling up. Brother Ray knocks Saggs into a camera man and the camera man goes down. Devon and Saggs are battling it out in the ring now as the legal men in the match. Winners: The Nasty Boys

Bischoff explains how important tonight is for Joe. Joe explanis how he understands. Bischoff says he and AJ have no history with him. He says he does have history with Ric Flair though. Bischoff says he doesn't want to see Flair out there with a World champion. He assures Joe that he'll call the match down the middle. Joe tells Bischoff to take care of Flair, he'll take care of AJ. Bischoff tells Joe to control that Samoan temper of his. Bischoff says just to take care of AJ, he'll take care of everything else. Joe says it's a deal.

8-Card Stud Match:
(Semi-Final)
-D'Angelo Dinero vs. Matt Morgan

Morgan dominating the action for most of this match. The Pope is trying to use his quickness now to get in some offense of his own but Morgan stops him in his tracks. 8-Card Stud Match:
(Semi-Final)
-Abyss vs. Mr. Anderson

Anderson tries some kicks and chops on Abyss but Abyss is just standing there and taking it. Abyss over-powers Anderson. Anderson tries a flying cross-body on Abyss but he just bounces off Abyss' body. Abyss doesn't budge. Anderson puts his hand up for a test of strength. He uses it to trick Abyss. Abyss quickly regains control again. Anderson doesn't seem to know what to do. Abyss knocks Anderson to the floor. He slams Anderson's face on the ringside steps. Anderson is finally fighting back on the outside. He rolls into the ring to break the count. Back to the offense on the floor. Abyss turns things around again and slams Anderson's face into the guard rail. Back in the ring, Anderson cuts Abyss short with a dropkick to the knee. Anderson now comfortably working over Abyss. Anderson is trying to take the mask off of Abyss. Abyss fights out of it, crushing Anderson in the corner back-first. Abyss still selling the leg. Anderson chop-blocks Abyss' leg from behind. Another dropkick to Abyss' knees. Abyss shrieks in pain. Abyss is finally starting to fight back a little. Abyss with a side-slam on Anderson. Anderson again tries yanking the mask off Abyss. Abyss is blinded from the mask moving around and he grabs the ref by the throat. Anderson hits the Mic Check on Abyss and pins him to win the match and advance to the finals of the tournament. It will be Mr. Anderson vs. D'Angelo Dinero in the finals.

Winner: Mr. Anderson

Christy Hemme Interviews AJ Styles

AJ Styles does a typical Ric Flair promo mentioning all the old great champs. He talks about his diamond ear-ring. He has blond tips in his hair now. It's quite pathetic. Ric Flair puts over Styles some more and we fade away.

Backstage: AJ Styles' New Present

Backstage AJ Styles gets a Ric Flair-style robe. He puts it on but it has the same hoody as his old gimmick. AJ's hair is frosted blond as hell too.

TNA World Title:
-AJ Styles (c) vs. Samoa Joe

Eric Bischoff is in as the special guest referee. Jeremy Borash does his boxing-style intros for the World title match. And our match is officially underway. Joe dominates early. AJ does a lot of pussy heel stuff ala Flair. AJ gets some offense in now and is working on the leg of Joe. Wonder what that'll lead to? AJ tries wrapping up a figure-four leglock but Joe kicks him off and outside to the floor. Joe gets a running start and dives through the ropes onto Styles on the floor. Styles takes the mats off on the floor, exposing the concrete. Bischoff is yelling for them to get back in the ring. Styles is going for a suplex on Joe on the concrete. Joe blocks it. Joe turns him around and goes for a suplex of his own but AJ leaps over and lands on his feet, avoiding the move. AJ runs back into the ring. Joe stalks Flair and Flair backs off. AJ distracts Bischoff now, which allows Flair to wrap Joe's leg around the ring post. Joe limping bad now. Styles chop-blocks Joe's leg from behind. Styles continues to work on the leg of Joe. AJ locks in the figure four leglock on Joe. Joe is screaming in pain. Bischoff is down to get a closer look. Joe eventually works his way out of the figure four. Styles runs at Joe but Joe ducks and Styles goes out to the floor. Flair takes his jacket off and his panicking now. Styles is back in the ring and Joe is fighting back now. Joe clotheslines Styles down repeatedly. Styles moonsaults over Joe's head and catches him with a backwards DDT drop. He tries a pin but Joe kicks out at two. Ric Flair's reactions on the floor this entire match have been priceless. Christ that dude is the man. Styles is calling for the Styles Clash. Joe reverses it into a standing rear naked choke. Joe slams Styles over his head, while still holding him in the choke. Joe is setting Styles up for the Muscle Buster. Flair grabs Joe's leg. Bischoff goes to yell at Flair. Joe hits the Muscle Buster. Bischoff rolls back in to make the pin but Flair yanks Bischoff outside the ring. Bischoff punches Flair in the face and Flair is down. Flair is up now and is flipping out like a mad-man. God bless Ric Flair lol. Joe pulls Bischoff back in the ring and is yelling at him. Bischoff is trying to explain. Joe pushes Bischoff. Bischoff pushes him back. Joe grabs Bischoff by the shirt and pushes him into the corner. He turns around and Styles hits the Pele kick. Styles then sets him up for the Styles Clash. He hits it. Bischoff goes down and hits the slowest three count in the world. Styles retains the TNA title.

Winner and STILL TNA World Champion: AJ Styles

After The Match: Ric Flair Has One Final Demand

Flair asks for a microphone and demands that Bischoff raise Styles hand. Flair is flipping out demanding that Bischoff do it. Bischoff finally obliges. Flair is definitely the man.

He runs down his checklist: beat Angle, Abyss, etc. He says he's now going to send Pope back to the Harlem street corner that he came from. He said he's one match away from his title shot.

Jeremy Borash Interviews The Pope, The Band Attacks!

Pope calls him BJ, lol. He talks about how he doesn't respect Mr. Anderson. He says from now on he's going to call him Junior. He says Junior is writing checks his ass can't cash. He says he's Junior's cashieer and he is voiding his check. Pope explains how he's going to beat Anderson. As he finishes, The Band, Scott Hall and Syxx-Pac attack Pope. They beat the crap out of him badly until security tries breaking it up. They fight off security and continue the assault. Hall looks into the camera and addresses Hulk Hogan. He says he heard Hogan's having a party and warns him not to turn his back on the Wolfpac. Hall and Syxx-Pac walk off.

8-CARD STUD FINAL:
-D'Angelo Dinero vs. Mr. Anderson

The Pope's music plays but no one comes out. Finally the music cuts off. The lights go out and Mr. Anderson's music hits. Out comes Mr. Anderson. Anderson yells at the ref to ring the bell. He does. Now he yells at him to begin the count-out. The ref obliges. Pope crawls out of the entrance. Anderson runs up and beats him down some more. Anderson sprints back to the ring to break the count. Pope takes forever trying to climb in the ring but Anderson runs into the ropes and knocks him down to the floor again. Pope tries fighting back again but Anderson cuts him short yet again. Pope pulls the kneepads down and hits his finisher. He tries a pin but only gets two. Pope looks shocked. In the middle of the match, Anderson calls for the microphone. Down it comes. He says we are Mic Check away from the next Number One Contender.......he asks us to hold that thought. He sets Pope up for the Mic Check and hits it. He rolls Pope over and pins him but Pope manages to kick out at two. Crowd popped big for that. Anderson is throwing a temper tantrum. Anderson misses a big plunge off the top. And if so, what better way to help the promotion by having the guys who are young up-and-comers, passing the torch to the next generation of.... wait, no, Nasty Boys are old, fat, and out of shape.  They really should be promoting TNA talent, but I've already lost hope on TNA.  At this point, WWE vs. TNA is just 'which flavor of mediocre do you prefer?' heh

And today TNA is going to announce they are going live every week on Monday nights. I started to watch TNA a few months ago and it was great, but now Hogan messed it up. That's why I watch ROH every Monday. Their main events every week blow anything WWE or TNA does out of the water.

If I could, I probably would, but my cable system doesn't have HDnet.  Sad

Even if there isn't a lot of storyline in RoH, at least you know you'll see some actual good wrestling, heh.

And today TNA is going to announce they are going live every week on Monday nights.

I had heard they would be working every other Monday and Tuesday - Live on Monday and taping the next Monday on Tuesday, much like WWE did before WCW forced them to go live each week by putting the results on air.

I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Helps if you actually watch the product before critizing it.  Wink  WWE puts on spotfests, 3 minute matches on Raw where the guys take turns hitting their moves, mix up some transition moves, then implement the run-in or whatever.  I'd rather see actual wrestling skill, ring psychology and so on, in ROH than the same carbon copy blandness Vince has been putting out for the last few years.

Also, WWE puts on one good spotfest every year, Money in the Bank.  ROH may have a few guys like that (Briscoe Brothers come to mind) but you get those at least once a show instead, heh.

I ordered almost all of their PPVs, taking a short break during the snore-a-thon Nigel World Title reign (my rants against it archived elsewhere in TCO history, heh), but I stand by my statement.  I guess your definition of 'spotfest' means 'any type of wrestling match' if that's all you saw, lol.

I'd love to have the old Hogan cartoon series on DVD. Hillbilly Jim and Nikolai Volkoff were hilarious and Piper was awesome. Smiley
