I have spoke with the Commissioner  - "D-lirious".  I have subbmitted the events for GenCon 2010 World Championships.  There will be 9 events scheduled over the weekend.  The events will look like this...

Thursday August 5, 2010
12:00 noon Classic Format (No Revolution, No Virtual Cards)
3:00 p.m.   All Axxess (No Virtual Cards)
6:00 p.m.   Virtual All Axxess

Friday August 6, 2010
12:00 noon Tornado Tag (No Virtual Cards)
3:00 p.m.   Virtual Classic (No Revolution)
6:00 p.m.   All Axxess (No Virtual Cards)

Saturday August 7, 2010
12:00 noon Revolution (No Virtual Cards)
3:00 p.m.   Virtual Revolution
6:00 p.m.   Virtual All Axxess

Sunday August 8, 2010
11:00 a.m. 2010 Raw Deal World Championship
-  Formats for the world championships will be determined at the event.

Each event EXCLUDING the World Championship will have a Fee of $4.00.  This is not a fee that we are charging it is a room fee for Gen Con.  Please if you have any opinions please express them but know that we have to pay them the $4.00 per event, per person so that we have a room to play the events in.  If you showed up last year you know how much of a Cluster #$^& it was so we will not have a repeat.

Also Prize Support will be determined at a later date.  I'm working on a trophy for the winner of the whole thing.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me off the boards or send me a message or even just post on this thread.  Thanks again.

If I win one of these events will I be able to play the other events?

Is revo 5 going to be legal for these events?

ALL of these events are World Championship qualifiers.

Yes, if you win one, you are still able to play in other events.  Should you win another event, the entry will go to the runner-up.

The legality of Rev5 is unknown at this time.  Without a concrete release date, we cannot be sure when it will be legal.

HOWEVER~!

All prize cards (new belts and whatnot) that have been released WILL be legal in all Virtual formats.

Also I added a couple of introduction to the game.  They are events that can be signed up for to help teach other players to play.  Maybe we can get a few new faces into the game.  I set them up for Thursday and Friday at 11:00 a.m. before the Qualifiers.  This way if we get players that are interested than we can maybe get more into the tourneys.  Also I have been talking to D-lirious and the prize support will be great.  If anybody want to help teach new players to play or if you have friends that want to learn to play teach them.  Lets keep this game alive ok thanks.

I don't know 100% everything that is being offered for prize support, but from what I do know, D is right on the money as far as them being amazing.

D, just LMK what you need and I'll get you the cards you need for prizes.

Another note on Prize Support, tournaments played, etc:

Play in as many as you possibly can, even if you've already qualified.  There may be prizes awarded for best percentage/worst percentage etc before the World Championship on Sunday.

Do not take last year into consideration.  We had a poor turn out but the events were not registered.  Prize support was not finalized.  It was a huge cluster F*&^.  This year I have already gone in and submitted the events.  They are up for approval as we speak.  We will have a location to play and meet at this year.  We have AWESOME Prize support. (Even a surprise or 2)  We will be running Intro in to the game to get new players in each day before the qualifiers.  If you can make it we would love to see you out there this year.  Any questions please contact me or the Commissioner D2.

Also doing a Canadian Q in Toronto Would help get people interested.

To organize 1 in Canada from Texas would be a little hard. lol..  Formats for worlds will be chosen from the list of qualifiers the day of the event.  You will need to bring 5 decks and then you will vote on which ones will be used.  We will have more updates as we get them but for the time being just plan off of the Qualifiers at Gen Con and go from there.  I hope you can make it and we will see about a Canadian Qualifiers.

Any person or persons willing to get together and do a Canadian Qualifier?

Also the date for the Texas Shoot out will be carved in stone soon.  Still working on a cool venue.  Formats to follow.

So step up and run one, heh.  Smiley

Basically, if enough people in any given area are interested, they could coordinate and set up a Qualifing tournament.  The catch is this: since there is no company backing up the game any more, it would be up to the winner to provide their own transporation to GenCon and such.

It would be hardly reasonable to expect one person to pay, out of pocket, for the travel from thousands of miles away.  Smiley  Unless, of course, I win the powerball - then hell yeah, I'll spring for some tickets.  Cheesy

I have no problems organizing qualifiers. I think it would have to be at least 2 slots though as to have a reason to fill a car to go to Gen Con.

Feel Free to PM me so we can work out details

2 Slot Canadian Qualifier? Sounds good to me.

1st place will be the Canadian Champion, 2nd place will still have the invite to Worlds also. (Using the GYOAT rule, as always!)

Let me know so I can post the tournament info.

Just so everyone knows, I received word from our 2010 Adam Crites Memorial Tournament winner that he WILL be at GenCon to represent Southern California.

As part of his prize, I will be paying for his badge to enter the convention for the weekend.

Ric, are we going to get a list of the qualifiers posted on the RDP web site? I'll have results sent to you this week as well. I'm WAY far behind in getting those to you, sorry.

I  have a couple questions about the 5 decks we have to bring, first off are they the following?

All axxcess
Virtual All Axxcess
RDC
Revolution
Virtual Revolution

For Virtual AA will that include WCW Invasion and Revo 4+5?

And for Virtual Revo does that only include virtual cards with REVOLUTION on them?

Assuming Revo 5 is released in time for GenCon (*insert mandatory disclaimer about when R5 will be released/legal, 'cause we don't yet know!*)

That is Correct. Only cards with the Revolution logo on them will be legal for Virtual Revo format.

*Edit: I'd also recommend bringing along a Tornado Tag deck as well. Not saying it will or won't be a format for Worlds itself on Sunday, but there IS a qualifier for the format. (Tornado Tag format info can be found on the left menubar at RawDealPlanet.com!)

Virtual Revolution would be any card from Revolution 1, 2, and 3, as well as R4 and WCW cards with the Revolution logo. Most notably, the four mixed cards with Classic and Revolution card types (Whirlwind Kick, Spinning Arm Lock, Spiral Bomb, and Turn the Match Around) are NOT legal for Virtual Revolution.

I'm purposefully excluding R5 from this discussion since it isn't finished yet. I'd like to give people a month or two, minimum, to play with the set before it becomes legal for Worlds, so if we can't get it out a month before GenCon, it won't be legal.

Yeah, nothing virtual is legal for Tornado Tag. R4 would bust half a dozen combinations of Superstars wide open, we weren't testing it with Tornado Tag in mind.
