outside of michael cole being too big a dick and just annoying in the "I'm the vet announcer and I never touch the internet screw you your my rookie matthews" I really dug the show.

Michael Cole is playing the role of like every WWE Vet in the back though "Screw this kid...hes nothing...who cares about internet fans. This is WWE....who cares main eventing and wrestling around the world"

I just hate michael cole so much

VINTAGE Great White Dope.    Oh My.

I don't hate him.....well I do, it's difficult.   When JBL was just putting him down at every turn, that was hilarious.  At least he calls about 90% of his stuff right.  Not like say....Mike Ademle.  Matt Striker is still the best in my opinion.

I never thought I'd say this, but...I'm glad Cole is the heel on commentary.  Matthews playing the Rookie side of the coin is great because he's been through it.  And, last time I checked, the Manhattan Center and Tokyo Dome held more than 50 people.

Plus, when Cole said "World?  What world?!", anybody else waiting for Matthews to say "Jupiter, jackass.  What world do you think?" ?  I know I was.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Josh isn't terrible behind the desk. Hopefully he eventually grows a pair and starts telling Cole off more like Bradshaw used to.

I wish Josh Matthews would have just headbutted Cole and knocked him out at the end of the show. That would have been hilarious. I'm not really a big Michael Cole fan to begin with though.

Could anyone read what was on the arms of Danielson's robe? I know it said American on the left arm, but I couldn't make out if the right arm said Dragon or something else. I mean I don't see what else it could have said, but who knows with WWE changing things around.

It
s american dragon.  his back had an outline of a dragon with american flag inside it.  least it looks like he keeps that part of himself

Thank God. Now let's hope he actually makes it in the company so he doesn't leave and lose the name.

I think he will.  He may be WWE's new Benoit in terms of style in ring and ability.  I think they will capitalize on it

Quote
WWE World Heavyweight champion Chris Jericho has posted a message on Twitter about NXT rookie Daniel Bryan, who he wrestled in the main event of last night's debutshow. Jericho also complimented fellow NXT rookie Wade Barrett. Jericho wrote on Twitter:

"NXT was pretty cool. Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett will be stars However, Punk's guy has the worst hair I've ever seen..."

thats definitely a good sign at least, your world champion endorsing your work lol

That's how they should end EVERY show.

Anybody else thinking along my lines that a very significant reason of Miz' push for the titles recently is because of who they planned/did pair him up with?  Sort of if Miz is this hotshot, wait till his "rookie" outshines him.

He did a little. Cole was saying how he was the mentor and then Matthews said something like "you have been mentored for the past 12 years, you still are. You get tips emailed to you." (Because JR said on his blog or twitter that he emailed notes to Cole for the Elimination Chamber PPV.)

Cole & Matthews are okay on the mic as a commentator team. Cole over does it alot and doesnt let Matthews talk much but I think that was the whole plan from the begining.

I am waiting for Mattews at the end of the season or in the middle of it just hall off and smack, punch, kick or headbutt Cole mid-sentence and take over the rest of the show.

Actually, what might be fun (though they'd never do it) is for Matthews to get pissed off enough at Cole to challenge him to a match in-ring. Wade Barrett's described on the WWE website as being fairly good on the stick, and he's paired with Chris Jericho, who we all know is gold, so they could put Cole and Matthews in the ring, with Barrett and Jericho calling the match.

Danielson looked good out there. I love that they paired him with Jericho it was a very good match for a WWE TV show match. I like how it seemed that he was physically on the same level just Jericho caught him off guard and countered a couple of times to win. They made him look very good and I for one can't wait to see him get Miz one on one.

Also as for Cole I think him bashing Bryan is the best thing that can happen. No one likes Cole and when Cole is putting you down like that it's just going to get more people behind you.

The debut of NXT pulled a 1.3, while TNA iMPACT pulled a 1.2.

This proves Bryan Danielson is a bigger ratings draw than Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair combined.

- The Miz was getting ribbed on backstage a lot by his co-workers about being picked to mentor Daniel Bryan on NXT. Sources say that after this week's NXT premiere, Vince McMahon felt that they had already made Bryan into a star in one night with the Miz interaction and the main event with Chris Jericho

- Daniel Bryan wrote the following on Twitter this week regarding his match with Chris Jericho on WWE NXT: "Resting and allowing my ribs to heal... There's a reason it's called a "suicide dive." Yikes!"

I think the 1.3 was from people's curiosity. We'll see how it does in the next few weeks and judge it from there.

Ratings reports are saying NXT got a 1.4, rounding it up from a 1.35.

And this week's TNA iMPACT?

1.10

Survey SAYS?  One more for the young guys.

Yea.

As for the rookies, based on what i've seen so far, Danielson, Otunga, and Gabriel all have bright futures, Slater is a maybe, Barret is a maybe. Tarver And punks guy I dont see having a major future, and Sheffield neither.

Wade Barrett is a monster he's going to go places. Otunga is a future world champion in my opinion. Bryan Danielson is doing great, and I think he'll be in the WWE for a long time. Gabriel will be the next guy lost in the midcard shuffle on Raw. The rest are just meh.

Dear Lord, I've been asked, nay commanded, to thank Thee for the Christmas turkey before us... a turkey which was no doubt a lively, intelligent bird... a social being... capable of actual affection... nuzzling its young with almost human-like compassion.
