Got some questions, hope someone can help me out.

1. Chris Jericho's superstar ability, I'm slightly confused. It reads as "When a card is reversed during your opponent's turn his turn does not end. After you reverse a card, if it is still your opponent's turn you may play a card of the the same type as the card reversed. If you do, it is -5F for each reversal played this turn, and your opponent may respond to it as normal." My question is what exactly does it mean by type? Is it maneuver or action? Or more specific as in strike, grapple, high risk, etc?

2. Carlito's superstar ability reads as "At the start of your opponent's turn, before his Draw Segment, choose 1 card in your opponent's Ring. Your opponent removes a card from his Ring that does not share a card type with the chosen card." The card that gets removed, does it go to ringside or is it removed from game?

3. Cryme Tyme's card "Stealin' the Wins." Reads as "If your opponent has 6 or less cards in his Arsenal, he loses the game via Pinfall victory." Does the card keep checking for the Pinfall or is it only when successfully played?

4. The Pre-match card titled "Technicality" reads as "At the end of the Pre-match phase, you may discard 1 non-Reversal card for each copy of this card in your Ring. If you do, search your Arsenal for 1 card, put it face down under this card and shuffle your Arsenal. When this card is in your Ring, if you have the Technician style or if your opponent has a maneuver in his Ring, non-unique Reversals under this card may be played as if they were in your hand. If this card is removed from your Ring, put all cards under this card into your Ringside." If I have 2 copies in my ring I discard 2 cards, but how many cards do I get to search for?

I'm not too familiar with NRD, but I am familiar with wording.

3.  Yes, given that wording, it continuously checks.

4.  "At the end of the Pre-match phase, you may discard 1 non-Reversal card for each copy of this card in your Ring. If you do, search your Arsenal for 1 card, put it face down under this card and shuffle your Arsenal."

One card.  Only one card.  Just one.  One.  Uno.

3 is flat-out wrong and 4 is badly worded. Bad D2. Bad.

1) The types are Maneuver, Reversal, Action. Since you can't reverse a reversal, only the other two are relevant.

EXAMPLE 1: Jericho is feeling Technical and reverses his opponent's Punch with a Block. He then follows up via his ability with a Running Bulldog, which the opponent can attempt to reverse as normal before his turn continues.

EXAMPLE 2: Jericho's opponent tries to Smile to the Fans, but Jericho hates when anybody is more of a Showman than him and says he's All Talk, No Action. Jericho then tries to Smile to the Fans himself, which the opponent can attempt to reverse as normal before his turn continues.

EXAMPLE 3: Jericho's opponent is sick of his showboating and tries to shut him up with a Strangle Hold. Jericho, still Technical as ever, reverses with a Break the Hold. He really wants to play an Offer Handshake since his hand is looking empty, but he just reversed a maneuver, so he has to respond with a maneuver or do nothing. Sadly, all Chris has is blue, so he passes on his opportunity. Opponent's turn continues and he can play whatever he wants.

2) The card is removed from the game, as per the download wording.

3) Stealin' the Wins does NOT continuously check. It only checks when it is successfully played. If it continuously checked, it would say "When this card is in your Ring..."

4) Each Technicality gets one card underneath it, even if you discarded 3 cards per Technicality.

Yes, that's right, the discard is (# of Technicalities in Ring) ^ 2.

Ok, thanks for the answers. Couple more questions, but not really rules related. Has there been any updates to the availability of the promo cards or NRD2? Checking through the past topics there aren't any new posts since August 2009. Anyone know if they are still in the works?

Last I heard from Bryson, he was still working on NRD and had put together set 2, but felt there wasn't enough response on TCO to continue posting about it here.  There was good response locally for the game, so he was still going forward, though.

~ONE MONTH LATER~

Bryson: I wonder what's happening on TCO these days?  Maybe I should go say hi.

* * *

@Daeva/D2 - Thanks for fielding the questions in my absence.  I love you guys <3

@Leech -0 Short answer: CREED is correct.  Given the success of NRD in my local scene, I've been continuing its development primarily on that front.

Long answer: When CREED and I last spoke, NRD2 was designed, but I was feeling lethargic towards actually putting the designs into hard-copy form.  TCO was having its issues with being online, and the TCO community seemed by-and-large uninterested in further NRD, so I was hard-pressed to actually spend the countless hours it would take to turn the cards from their text file into the physical copies you would need to play.  In order to somewhat circumvent this, rather than release NRD2 as a 300 card set, a decision was made that it should be released in rumbles of 36 cards, which would include 18 non-superstar specific cards and 18 Superstar Specific cards.  This has been going well thus far, and the first rumble is slated to go to my local print shop on May 10.  It contains Team Xtreme, Mick Foley and Right to Censor.

Is there any chance of a file mirror being put up to host this rumble set of NRD2?  While my playgroup is not active on the boards anymore, we still prefer Raw Deal to the majority of other card games we've tried.  New Raw Deal brought us back to the better times of Raw Deal and reset the game as opposed to continuing the bloat of later sets as Rev 4 and 5 seems to be doing.  Its a small voice, but there is an interest in seeing the newer sets continue and any effort to post them on TCO or any other site would be welcome.

I appreciate your interest.  Had I known someone was looking for the PDFs, I would have put them up.  Gimme a day or two to put them into the same format the NRD1 PDFs were, and I'll throw a link up here.  In the mean time, I'll post some JPG previews in another thread.
