Howabout a "Shoutbox" feature? (It's a chat type of thing, you can see it on www.lackeyccg.com/forum although you have to be logged in to see it.

I could run online tournaments!

I've never much been a fan of Shoutboxes. How exactly would that enhance TCO?

If a shoutbox sounds bad, some other sort of "Chat" would be cool (If they make one that integrates with SMF.)

That's not really answering Brian's question, though. Why does TCO need a chat function independent of actually posting? That just seems like redirection of content.

...and a massive invitation for spam, if you ask me, lol.

My friend runs an internet radio station (cheap plug! www.epicrockradio.c om) and has a Shoutbox, but they had to do a bunch of programming in the back-end to make it where only people logged in could chat.  Even then they have to keep at least 1 moderator on at all times to keep things in check.

Way too much of a hassle, if you ask me.

Daeva & Creed pretty much covered my feelings on that. And really with Twitter, Gmail Chat, AIM Chat, Myspace Chat, Facebook Chat, and every other chat program out there, wouldn't having TCO chat just be a little redundant when we can have more content in the forums?

At 3:30 in the morning, I'll give the stereotypically popular answer.

Boobs.

You have just earned some cowbell for your honesty.
