Hey all just had a quick question; How do you sort your Raw Deal cards? mainly looking at Hybrids and the Backlash cards.

I sort mine by type first (if hybrid I use the type at the top of the card). By fortitude second, by damage third. My commons and uncommons are sorted together, rares separately.

Do you separate the Mid by type as well?

Yes.  Mid-match Actions together (including Action-Reversal hybrids), Mid-match Reversals together and Mid-match Maneuvers together (including Maneuver-Action hybrids).

Wow..would never dream of sorting cards by fort and rarity. I just stick to the types ( manuevers, actions, reversals) if they are hybrid I put them in a seperate area by themselves. That's if I have a huge collection. After slimming it down I just kinda have my commons and uncommons all mixed up. Sometimes it's useful looking through them, makes you read all the cards constantly and they might be useful again giving ideas for different combos.

I don't sort my Revolution cards.  However, if I did, I would NEVER mix them with classic.  I would sort them the same way as regular cards, but separated.

My Revolution is sorted the same way as my classic, but separately because I only use Revolution in Revolution format. My midmatch is Aldo separated by maneuver, action, reversal. I've got well over 100,000 Raw Deal cards. If they weren't sorted, I'd never find anything.

I'm in the same boat as Piper, more or less.

First off, every Classic (and Revo) Superstar is in a deck box for that Superstar, in a drawer of my desk.  Booster pack and promo Superstars have been taped to the front of other boxes, leading to fun combinations like Big All Over (Spike), Rampaging Redneck (Jamie Noble), The Dish (Moolah), Born of Hellfire (Mae Young), and Hardcore Goddess (Raven).  (Virtual stuff in a Battle Bag next to my desk)

The other cards are in boxes, whittled down to minimum amounts (9, 12, 18 or so) for low-play cards like Shoot Aerial 360 Kick and BASH Evader.  Revolution has its own box, as does non-Afterburn-legal cards - not really relevant anymore (the separation, not the cards, heh) but admittedly I get cards out of there far less often than the others.  Foils of any sort are stored in hard plastic cases - gotta protect the shinies!  Cheesy

Box 1 - Pre-Match (sorted by phase, then rarity, then Alphabetically - hybrids go here), Mid-Match (sorted by, then Rarity, then Mid-match type- Move/Action/Rev. - then by F/D), Face & Heel cards (sorted by type, then by F/D), and the last row is B2B junk (non-foils), B2B foil sets, and BASH cards.

Box 2 - Tech, Dynamic, and Diva only cards - then reversals (Move, Action, other) in priority order (Revo of the Mind up front with Elbow) - then Actions, sorted by rarity and F/D/Alpha.

Box 3 - Maneuvers - rarity, F/D, Alphabetically.  Most hybrids go here, except rare cases like Takedown where I'd never play it as a move, heh.

Sounds really OCD, I'm sure, but I've had it that way for years, so I'm very much used to it.  And unless I forget a card's rarity, this set-up means I can find any card in the game in well under 30 seconds, heh.

To add to what Creed said, I also sort my prematch by phase. Since I have every deck built, any "not packed" superstar specifics or cards used only by a small amount of folks like Feminine Wiles, Enforcers, Master Manipulator, G-Spot, etc are still kept in the deck box in case I change my mind. For some silly reason, even though I don't mix classic and revo, I still have complete sets of specific revo cards with each classic superstar. In otherwords I have 5 complete sets of Revo Triple H, one with each that can pack it. Eugene has a whole separate box for all of his non-packed specifics.

Damn.  SS3 killed me of having separate remake sets, I traded or gave away my extras.  I realized it would cost me about $300 to round up all the Throwbacks for The Game, Hero, Crippler, People's Champ, etc.

I do have a separate DX set (mostly from running the ridiculous 'overlord' DX challenge, but it worked out perfectly when we made actual DX, and again for New Age Outlaws, heh), and a Eugene set (haven't bothered to run off Virtual cards for him though, heh).  I did have separate Revo sets, besides having Revo sets in the original Superstars (a set for HHH, plus a Revo HHH for Revo format play), but I've traded or given most of those away.

I had a master set in a binder as well, but I got into that when I started building Revo 4 and now Revo 5 remakes.

I have about 75 or so boxes with built decks.

I have a couple 600 card boxes with foils and superstar specifics I don't use in the decks.

Then I have a stack of 3200 card boxes (3 high I think) that has everything else.  At one point, these were all sorted by type-->fortitude-->alpha.  These days, it's a big mess with some random parts sorted, but other cards in the order they came out of packs and starters, and others grouped by trait.  (My volley, chain, heat, and BASH cards are probably the best sorted cards in the whole collection, along with technicals and dynamics.)

When i sort and my friends can tell you i'm touchy about how i sort my cards. I sort by starting with:

Pre-Match: (Uncommon) - Venue, Feud, Stipulation, manager, PPV Event, Event (then if any damage on the cards by damage then.)

Follow The Same with guide with the common pre-match.

Mid-Match: (Uncommon) - Fortitude followed by damage...if they become hybrids that's up to you...i always followed with which ever color you did next (Example: Road To Victory would follow all hybrid mid-match/reversals into Mid-match reversals followed into mid-match reversal/maneuvers in the mid-match maneuvers.)

Then go into actions following the same uncommon then fortitude structure. do the same with the commons.

and just repeat this with maneuvers, antics, reversal and any hybrids you have.
but that's how i did it and it always helped me with my deck building cuz i knew where everything was and being it was sorted by fortitude i knew right where to look.

Rares & Foil Cards I Kept in a separate binder.

Superstars: I sorted by SS Card, Venue, Feud, Stipulation, Belts (if they have them), events, mid-match ect.)

i know it's a lot of work but trust me it will be worth it in the long run.

hope this helps

I sort by set. And I keep the rares separate from the commons and uncommons.

Then I group together by Actions, Moves, Reversals, Backlash, etc.
Superstars all live in a binder alphabetically. There are two binders - one for All Axxess only superstars, and one for Afterburn. Revo Superstars are again separate from that.

They live amongst 11 2000 count boxes, 3 4000 count boxes, and a bunch of other random boxes of different sizes spread over two rooms.

I know there's like a single 1000 count box of SS3 rares somewhere.

I'm regretting more and more that I quit buying altogether at SS3.  I absolutely loved the idea of Rumble packs, but I absolutely hated the idea of buying however many boxes it would take to get the necessary throwback UR's.  That was a nail in the coffin for the game for me for a long time.

One of each card is kept in binders.  Binder 1 is through Mania, 2 through Divas Overload, 3 through Unforgiven and 4 for the rest (I don't own anything from Revo 1-3).  I'm missing about 33 cards not counting prize cards.

Then my boxes go high risk, strike, grapple, submission, reversal, reversal/action, action, pre match and mid match.

Commons and uncommons are sorted by set. I store them in those 5000 count boxes so when a new set comes out I just throw them in. They aren't sorted any certain way, I'd be crazy to sort out 20,000+ commons.

My rares, promos, ultras etc are all in binders. I have three rare binders, two are classic the other is Revolution. All the rares are sorted by set (how they were released) and by number. I have two binders of superstars, they are also sorted out by when they were released. I just keep adding their new cards to their pages. Promos and prize cards are mixed in there somewhere. I also have a binder of a full set of SS3 parallel foils.

The only way I was able to sort my large collection was to do it as I opened my cases each set. If I let the cards build up it would never have happened. You learn to sort fast when you can't open the next pack until the current one is sorted. My downfall is the cards that I have switched out when tweaking a deck. They pile up until I use the to tweak another or build a new virtual superstar.

I'll take apart a few decks, then sort the cards I took out, and they can quickly be filed back in their original locations.  (Superstar-specifics just go back in the box they came from, heh)

I used to leave the most current set in the booster boxes, standing up in 2 rows, until the next set came out.  So Revo 3 stayed that way for a good year or more until I finally decided to re-sort the Revo box, one last time, heh.

Since I quit buying at SS3, I had cards from the previous set still sitting that way until the past few months.  I actually used to be really good about sorting boosters as I opened them.  However, after several years away from the game, my downfall was buying about 50 starter decks and buying out all of the SS3 and later pre-rev that a store still had in stock...and putting cards directly into decks, and sorting the rest to the side.  I already had decklists in a database, and knew exactly which cards I was looking for out of each pack.  The others just went in a pile.

Yup - what's worse is when you let friends build decks - and then they're never there to help sort all the crap back into where it came from.
