Sorry, I know i'm quite a noob..

I recently tried making a b2b Al snow... And i just couldn't get it started right..

I played 3x old school beating & 1 old school wrestling match.

Maybe its just my bad luck, but i couldn't get maneuvers in at the start of the game because my opponents large handsizes meant they had one of each reversals on hand... e.g Triple H, Tajiri, LAISE

I used the old You Feeling Lucky but it was often reversed by volley this, two things, etc..

When i do finally get a maneuver in, its already 3-4 turns into the game and my opponent already wiped out half of my arsenal into my ringside pile.. and i end up nothing being able to recover from their early beatings...

please help .. I'm really puzzled as to what i can do to make this deck work..

Well lets just say Al Snow was a OK basics deck about 5 years ago, anymore he just isnt that good since there is cards like a Revolution of the mind and Scotty's BASH worm and such, when step/escape was the standard u threw what wasn't in their hand, but not so much anymore.

If you make Al Snow Face for the Old School Psycholog,it still works just fine.My buddy won our local tourney a couple off weeks back, quite easily might I add.

On topic-
I think later today I'm going to try a Chris Masters just to see what happens.I think having the ability to look at their hand and rip out reversals might work.

What's Remove turnbuckle do again? Huh?

It's a heel mid-match action/reversal (it only reveres touch turnbuckle I think) that makes your opponent overturn cards when throw into the corner turnbuckle is played. I LOVED that card back in the day, almost as much as I loved Over The Top Rope. (Irish whip into Clutch/Shake/Poke then over the top rope HAHAHA)

I'm probably getting part of that wrong or missing a card I played but I only used it in Diva/Female decks with maneuver restrictions or Goldust with Lumberjack Match

My friend was saying that Stone Cold could be a good choice because of his Open A Can Of Whoop A%$.Once you get 2f,go to town on them.

That's... not a good reason, really.

One card in your Arsenal.. that IF you get it, and IF they don't reverse it, can help you - everyone's got that.  If you get lucky and draw your card, 'and your opponent doesn't play reversals'* you win.  That's any Superstar.  Smiley

I always liked BFM B2B... With That's usually. Less cards to fish through. And Kane's Return with all them maneuvers is cool...

Speaking of which...

<R> Undertaker makes for a pretty decent B2B deck (especially when you can hit "Taker Sits Up" using your opponent's fortitude, then run house the next turn.)

Doesn't that strategy get stuffed by Took That on the Chin? Because of Taker Sits Up making the mid-level moves do 8D. Same story with Kane's Return as well.

For Kane? Yeah, probably. Undertaker can clear out Chin with You're Gonna Pay! TB or Twelve Years of Terror, though.

Is there any good Venues to go with B2B ?

I was thinking Washington, DC to search for a You Feeling Lucky (TB)..

I know people play Houston, Texas with old school psychology to reduce opponent's Starting Handsize, but it doesn't seem to be much of a use against people who already have a handsize around 9+, or maybe i'm just really unlucky.

On a side note.. I am contemplating on giving up trying to make a B2B Al Snow.. Is there any other viable build for this Superstar to make a half-decent deck ?

Re: Al Snow, I've seen Heat Hell In A Cell, Heat non-Cell, and Foreign Objects work well for him, the latter when Al has his Virtual support.  I'm of the opinion that Al benefits enough from <R> card (ECW Originals, Cruiserweight Title) that he's stronger in AA than Classic.

And not to mention if you play houston, you have to shuffle all your B2B's Moves into the deck when you play it. Which can be bad.

If you opt not to play a new stip, play "Your Town" lots of people play title belts and feuds when they don't get all their stuff it hurts their strategy, especially funny when they drop First of All and you have "Your Town" out, had a BFM drop that against me at Gencon and I wiped the floor with his face on my 3rd turn after I hit 14F and cleared his hand out with Break It Out's he couldn't RTV lol

For a low-SSV guy, Las Vegas, Nevada is also solid with B2B. You can't Showtime, so it gives you a chance to go first.

Houston, Texas (V2)
Pre-match Venue
You and your opponent draw 6 cards. Randomly pick 1 card in his hand. If it is an Action or Maneuver card, he discards it and you randomly pick another card. If it is a non-hybrid Reversal card, he discards it and you stop picking cards.
Discard cards until you have the same number of cards in your hand as him.
All players’ Starting Hand Sizes are -3.

Permanent
F: 0      D: 0

Mitch, am I missing something? Why would you need to shuffle all the B2B moves into the deck due to Houston?

Because you don't get the basic's moves under B2B until you play B2B's, Houston is played before you get to play B2B's and pull the moves from your deck.

Mitch is saying that he wouldn't bother shuffling before playing B2B since you have to fish through your deck and shuffle anyway.

Otherwise you can end up drawing the B2B's moves into your hand where they are totally useless to you since you want them under the card, and since houston works immediately the B2B's moves must be shuffled in the deck for houston.  I like to keep all my moves in a stack after the game so I don't gotta fish for them every game.

Good thinking there. Nothing sucks more for a B2B deck than drawing the 0F's and discarding them to Houston. Can't believe I missed that one!

On the topic of Venues, yup Washington is the most consistent one for Face. Another choice would be Boston, if you like plunging into the 2nd tier Grapples under B2B. A few Jockeys, Gut Wrenches and Throws maybe?

Otherwise you could default to Rochester/Denville.
