So it's looking like I may have a little bit of Dev time available to me in the near future, and I'm missing the random quotes module.

However, I think I've lost the old list of quotes that were available. So I have to start compiling new quotes. So feel free to post suggestions in here.

This is what's going in at the moment:

A clean house is the sign of a wasted life ~Anonymous
Don't dwell on what went wrong. Focus on what to do next. ~ BK
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined. ~ Henry David Thoreau
My generation, the old generation, promoted the nuclear plants. If we don't take responsibility, who will? --Kazuko Sasaki
“Harry Potter is all about confronting fears, finding inner strength, and doing what is right In the face of adversity. Twilight is about how Important it is to have a boyfriend.” ~ Stephen King
Sometimes life is less about the "Why" and more about the "How"
You always want to feel a little 'in over your head'.
I am Just A Man, May Not Change The World , But Let Me Inspire Someone Who Can ~ Wale Victor Flaring
May God stand between you and harm in all the Empty places you must walk
  (Old Egyptian Blessing)
failure is the next iteration of success.

"It isn't the rebels who cause the troubles of the world, it's the troubles that cause the rebels." -Carl Oglesby

Change is a guarantee. How you deal with change will define you. - Joey Elliot
Doubt is an Infection - CM Punk

I remember there being a couple quotes on that list from Civ IV's tech tree, so I figure I'd leave this here in case it helps.

http://www.squidoo.com/civ4quotes

Also, I don't have a good source, but some wrestling-specific quotes would be cool, too. A couple that come to mind:

"Win if you can, lose if you must, but always cheat!" - Jesse Ventura
"To be the man, you've got to beat the man." - Ric Flair
"Kick him when he's down. He's easier to reach." - Scott Hall

Pretty much anything Mick Foley's ever said would work, too.

anything from Yogi Berra. My two favorites would be:

"It aint over till its over"
and
"Nobody ever goes there, its too crowded"

Well one I've always liked and got reminded of today by listening to random things on youtube has always been the following.

"If you try to fail and succeed, which have you done?"

A few more random quotes. Some of these probably don't work for the random quote, but they're worth sharing, I think:

"Thunder rolled. It rolled a six." - Terry Pratchett
"I reject your reality and substitute my own." - Adam Savage (probably a few people before that, but he's the one I know said it.)
"Just because you have a choice, it doesn't mean that any of them has to be right." - The Dodecahedron, The Phantom Tollbooth
"My dad has a weird hobby. He collects empty bottles, which sounds so much better than 'alcoholic,' doesn't it?" - Stewart Francis

A pair that go together (pun completely intended):

"To call me an Englishman without those rights is like calling an ox a bull. He's thankful for the honor, but he'd much rather have restored what's rightfully his."
"When did you first notice they were missing, sir?" - Benjamin Franklin and John Dickinson, 1776

Living creatively is really important to maintain throughout your life. And living creatively doesn’t mean only artistic creativity, although that’s part of it. It means being yourself, not just complying with the wishes of other people. ~ Matt Groening

Just my 2¢, but I always hated the really long quotes, because they took the QOTD box from a cute blurb in the corner to a major annoyance when I had to chase the "Recent" sidebar down a page...

So if I'm going to go with longer quotes, let it find some place else to live. Got it.

CREED

It now lives over on the right hand side. The box can be minimized so that if you find it intrusive, you don't have to look at it.

I'll be adding to the quotes from what's posted in this thread possibly later today?

Posting the lyrics to an entire song, or an entire poem, is not a quote. doing so will result in the deletion of the post, and will accrue negative cowbell. (and my ire)

To ERR is human, to ARR is pirate.

"When you have come to the edge of all you know and are about to drop off into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen... There will be something solid to stand on or you'll be taught to fly." - Horus

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

I don`t make much distinction between being a stand-up comic and acting Shakespeare - in fact, unless you`re a good comedian, you`re never going to be able to play Hamlet properly. - Sir Ian Mckellen
