1  Raw Deal / Virtual Raw Deal / Re: 2013 Virtual Revision on: June 18, 2013, 09:56:50 AM
As one of the ones who did playtest it....turning She's Got legs into "recover everything you damn well please"....yeah it was a touch much, not like anyone has a gun to your head and was stopping you from playing nothing but slingshots into the ring post anyway to max out on Raw cards Smiley

it was even grosser if you can guarantee PRS too....which was NOT easy mind you
2  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: I just HAD to come up with this! :P on: June 14, 2013, 11:25:18 AM
Awesome movie and cool card, now if only it had "opponent can not respond if Morgan Freeman is explaining the text of this card to you" Smiley
3  Everything Else / General Chat / Re: Why do people hate Episodes I-III? on: June 12, 2013, 02:06:26 PM
The biggest problem I found with III was that there were too many gaps to fill between II and IV. The transition from Skywalker to Vader was rushed.

This is typical Lucas writing though....he always writes the story like he assumes we all know what's going on....

cases in point:
-- the Dooku "reveal"....how are we supposed to be shocked that this proud ex-Jedi turned heel when we never fraking saw him before? You want to add this effect, give him a small part in Ep I
-- the Anakin turn was also kinda weak....but it was saved by the marvelous job Palpatine did pulling the strings and starting a war who's true goal was to weaken and divide the Jedi to make them ripe for the picking...
-- the love dialogue between Padme and Anakin....it's worse then Twilight-level badness...

Maybe, it's entirely possible that Lucas hitting Ep IV and V out of the park were the exceptions instead of the rule and the other movies were more what he really was (though I though ep III did a fantastic job of making I and II better and filling the holes through Palpy's evil plans, and maybe even he had Ani's mom killed to fuel his rage and turn....a hint of that would have been nice too)

Maybe you need to watch them in the order suggested by fan-boy's....

IV, V, (I is optional). II, III, then VI .....I've never tried this but it makes sense.....
Luke....I am your father!!!!

is he really???

Let's go watch....

give it a shot.....
4  Raw Deal / Deck Reviews - Virtual / Re: Mr Perfect, not so perfect :( Face/Fan fav on: June 06, 2013, 06:13:35 AM
What a maneuver has rms which cannot be used to whack or protected by ability. and the -1 when played is a great turn off.

I meant to use as the cards to RFG FOR your ability, FYI
5  Raw Deal / Deck Reviews - Virtual / Re: Mr Perfect, not so perfect :( Face/Fan fav on: June 05, 2013, 09:45:51 AM
You'd lose the recovery part on MOD when you use your ability on it though (since its blank), I would think there might be better options for a move to toss then that

what about what a maneuver? Put three of those in there and it's a strike/grapple/sub for your ability fodder and it feeds the perfect plex as well
6  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Bored at work. Lots of Fantasy Cards. on: May 30, 2013, 09:51:32 AM
so the tb elbow is kind of boosted? is the intention meant to bypass abilities or cards that boost a maneuver's dmg beyond a normal elbow's reach?

It also makes sustaining a move down to elbow rang on overturn useless as well, its a give and take, but it does give you options if people are running jacked up cores in your play group as a way to stop them out the door
7  Raw Deal / Raw Deal Players Committee / Re: OFFICIAL Gen Con 2013 Event Listings & More on: May 27, 2013, 02:31:00 PM
For Worlds, prepare for 6 rounds of Swiss: 2 rounds in Virtual Classic, 2 in Virtual Rev, 2 in Virtual AA all before the cut.

......and it will be fair to say you can't use 2 different decks for say the Virtual Classic format yes?
8  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Card of the Day/Week on: May 23, 2013, 06:24:48 PM
it's one of those "card 61" type of cards....it has a nice effect and Boston protection but not quite good enough to make the cut....even in a volley deck.....
9  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Hiroshi Tanahashi on: May 20, 2013, 07:33:06 AM
Yeah I play a clutch....it goes through.....I then play punch after punch which by the way gains the text of clutch!?!?!?!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked
10  Raw Deal / Raw Deal Players Committee / Re: OFFICIAL Gen Con 2013 Event Listings & More on: May 17, 2013, 06:50:35 AM
I was just on Gencon's website, found Raw Deal.  My only question is why is the maximum players listed as 16?  I hoped to see more there.

Partially based on past attendance....and I'd assume the more people you say are in your event the more the venue wants to charge for the events....so this is a smart thing...keep costs down! Remember how much the CI-backed qualifiers cost after all
11  Raw Deal / Tournament Announcements / Re: raw draft mworld qualifier for 2014 world championships on: May 10, 2013, 07:05:35 AM
No one's stopping you guys from calling it "the PA State Championship" ya know.....  Cool

As from someone who's been to the last 3 Gen Cons .....the whole "qualifying process" was more of "oh this guy hasn't made it yet...let's get him in"....it seemed silly....and the people running the event had no time to wander and enjoy the convention too, plus the Sunday championship event was always chaos of finding a place to play as the venue was shutting down.....
12  Raw Deal / Tournament Announcements / Re: 6/2 Raw Deal Tournament on: May 09, 2013, 03:14:12 PM
You have a 133% better (love me some Steiner math)  chance of me showing up on the Saturday sir.....just an FYI
13  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Card of the Day/Week on: May 08, 2013, 03:53:07 PM
All I got for this is plunged test of strength....guess that's a pretty good option eh?
14  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Any superstar....Revolution on: May 08, 2013, 02:04:59 PM
Letting my opponent to draw six (and maybe some unique moves) so I can cycle three cards back into my hand....not the kinda way I'd want to make my Raw Deal living....esp in Revo....that's a dangerous way to stay alive....
15  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Any superstar....Revolution on: May 08, 2013, 12:15:22 PM
GGGOOOOLLLLDDDBBBEE EEERRRRGGGG!!!

Good luck keeping a hand to use your ability for though.....

Chyna could be quite obscene too since they are throws and holds that you pick up all the time

Or even D'Von....hit move....draw...play move you drew.....same idea in reverse with Goldust......

Or a real swing for the fences deck could be Bubba Ray Dudley....talk about hand advantage
16  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Any superstar....Revolution on: May 08, 2013, 09:45:18 AM
Since i'm a huge fan of big Handsizes and a revo deck can function without hybrids i deff would be down for some Funaki

Second Solution would cover the 0F hybrids, sure, but you don't get Defenses or Only One Solutions. I don't think I'd run that.

I would think R: Clean Break, etc would be a good fixer to that problem and give him enough quality red.....
17  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Also, when are we going to get a Rikishi remake in the form of The Sultan? on: May 05, 2013, 04:16:08 PM
What is it about the Repo Man that remains in our memories so long after he has faded? I don't recall any memorable feuds or matches or even the theme music.  Why does he stay fresh in our minds while so many fade away?     Why not Battle Kat or Who or that magic guy Phantasmo or something?

His gimmick was so stupid over the top it makes it easy to remember....much like the Bezerker....he was a waste of time and a king of the count-out (heh would be a funny part of his ability if he ever got one "when you win by count out it is considered a pinfall victory :p )...but HUSS HUSS was so stupid it was memorable!
18  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: What non-superstar specific cards have hell in the title? on: May 02, 2013, 07:01:49 AM
Will those count because I am making a Devil's Favorite demon. does the card have to be exactly say hell? I think it might be kinda cheesey if you could take any card with hell in it.

apply ilLEGal leverage works for RP: Leg, why wouldn't it?
19  Raw Deal / Rules Forum / Re: Carlito says vs. Classic Claw/ Bulldog Lariat on: April 30, 2013, 01:55:54 PM
But doesn't Carlito need be played before it can blank the card? I'm a bit confused there too....
20  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Team Hell No! on: April 29, 2013, 08:59:39 AM
I would like to see just to make it fun, for the search, if the maneuver played has a Kane logo, search for a D-Bry move, and if you played a D-Bry move search for one with Kane logo...kinda adds a bit of flavor to their bickering tag team ways and makes them a lil different then other decks that can move search Smiley
21  Raw Deal / Rules Forum / Re: Ignoring a cards text. on: April 28, 2013, 08:49:11 AM
Reach for the Ropes, Iron Will (OG) still work since they specifically name Clutch in their text .....you can still oversell it too....drink some decaf over there :p

This also means that Total Package dodges Vickie Protection and There is No Escape too yes?
Does it also dodge things like Old School Cage Match if I say wanted to tuck a thrust knee life or Back Body Drop TB??

I think I got a new deck to make!
22  Raw Deal / Welcome (back) to Raw Deal / Re: Power Cards/Strats: Virtual 5 Nexus or Against Us Meta. on: April 27, 2013, 11:48:45 PM
Not on my Broadcast TB kills mean Gene pretty much dead though.....such a powerful and amazingly underrated card it is.....
23  Everything Else / Sports Discussion / Re: NFL Draft on: April 26, 2013, 05:03:32 PM
And with that Crasher, I'll mark you in the "DO NOT WANT" category regarding that pick. I'm seeing Cowboys fans bickering with each other over the pick. Some think he's a talent at the level of Mike Webster, while others are saying he'll be a bust, and then a middle of the road opinion of "He may be good or great, but it's still a bad pick because the Cowboys could've gotten him later."
to me he's far more comfortable saying what's on his mind when he's analyzing things.

Exactly....why get a guy now you can get at the end of the 2nd Round right???

And there goes Mr Overrated right to San Diego.....
24  Everything Else / Sports Discussion / Re: NFL Draft on: April 26, 2013, 10:17:05 AM
Please....unless the bad guy is the Jets....it's more fun to hate the 'evil team' when they're actually kinda GOOD....otherwise the act gets old....after all there's a reason no one EVER hated the Hartford Whalers......
25  Everything Else / Sports Discussion / Re: NFL Draft on: April 26, 2013, 09:46:48 AM
Until this day.....till all are one.....

can someone PLEASE poison Jerry Jones' food???
