4  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Re: Bullying/Anti-Bullying vs. Parenting (NSFW?) on: April 11, 2013, 06:49:53 AM
I think the quotations merely imply that rape was alleged but not yet proven.

This is most certainly what I meant. I used the word "apparently"...which apparently isn't close enough to alleged.  Tongue

I know nothing of the situation. I wasn't there. Haven't dug into the situation at all.

Still, my concern is that the whole situation could've been avoided and that's what bugs me.
5  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Bullying/Anti-Bullying vs. Parenting (NSFW?) on: April 10, 2013, 11:52:46 AM
Yesterday I read in the news that a teenage girl (2nd one in a couple months that's made headlines) committed suicide due to bullying. This sucks. She was at a party with another girl and four guys. The girl left, she got wasted and apparently the four guys took advantage of this and "raped" her and took pictures and posted it online.

I'm all for the bullying/anti-bullying movement, but let's take a step back for a moment here.

WHERE IN THE BLUE HELL ARE THE PARENTS?

I'm sorry, but how do 6 teenagers get a hold of so much liquor and be left alone for so long that this can occur?? I know, I know, it happens all the time. It's easy, if you have an older sibling to hook you up....but this is ridiculous.

Not once in my life was I ever allowed in the same room with a girl unsupervised until I moved away to University! If we went into my bedroom, the door stayed open and if we even thought of going under the covers, we were reprimanded. I always had to call my parents when I arrived friend's house and had to call before I left.

At what point can we say - "Hey, if you didn't suck so much as a parent, this event wouldn't have occured and the bullying/anti-bullying wouldn't even be an issue (in this situation).

I know everyone's different, and situations are different, but this has got me so upset!!

Also, bringing your 6 month old to an NHL game...wtf, dude??
6  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Card of the Day/Week on: March 22, 2013, 10:14:59 AM
I honestly don't think I have EVER seen this card. Was it in the TMPT tin or the DA/TPT tin? I didn't buy either tin, but I don't recall every seeing it be played either. Hmm..
7  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Raw Deal Cube on: March 21, 2013, 10:32:59 AM
We don't use backlash decks, nor do we have SS cards in the "cube". The "cube" card selection, was just pretty random. We discovered after a few tries that Chain/Heat cards are a no-no so we took them out.

It takes tinkering, time, and house rules to get something like this up and running and to find a balance.
8  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Raw Deal Cube on: March 20, 2013, 12:06:59 PM
It's tough with Raw Deal due to the mechanics of the game. There's no way it'll work from scratch. ie - pick a wrestler and 60 cards and go...

What we do is draft starters (about 15 sets, then choose one to play). Then we have preset "starter decks" that come with about 20 cards, which are just standard 0F reversals.

From there, we dive into the cube (about 400-500 sleeved cards) and do a draft, build a deck of 60 cards and play 3-4 rounds.

The set up time is about 40-45 minutes, which is why we usually have a tourny and play 3-4 rounds.

Any more Q's let me know, I'll try to go into deeper details.
9  Raw Deal / Welcome (back) to Raw Deal / Re: Broadcasting Tournaments like magic on: March 18, 2013, 10:21:08 AM
Buddha Dudley has done some finals matches off his webcam. As to how to find them, I think you have to look at older (a few months ago) California tournament reports.

11  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Underplayed/Underused Superstars on: February 27, 2013, 11:51:57 AM

Snitsky, to a degree, can do it, too, but he lives and breathes with Baby Carriage; losing that means game over for the foot-licking baby-killing sadist.

Can you maybe expand on this a bit? Carriage is a cute toy, and it's won me some games, but I've never lost because someone DTTAH'ed the carriage and I no longer had it. Maybe if you pitch 4 cards and they DTTAH again, it'd be game over...

I'm talking classic here, if you're talking virtual, carry on, I have no idea what's going on there.

Faces of Fear/American Males

Don't even remember these teams, so they must not have been memorable.
14  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Revo Format on: February 17, 2013, 04:39:38 PM
Rather than starting a new topic about Revo, I'll add here.

What are people's opinions and thoughts about Revo with Classic: do they mesh well?  Should they remain separate?  What is the RDPC's outlook on Revo?

I got a lot of classic stuff which I got from a friend which I am slowly going through it to determine what is there.  There isn't a playgroup here, so it'd be a casual play with friends.  Revo-format intrigues me because it seemed like it was a reboot of the game, and I will probably try the trade/selling boards at some point.  Curious thought as to what people's thoughts were on it.

This is why there are three separate formats:
Revo Alone
Classic Alone
All Axxess: combined Smiley

I don't think that answered any of his questions.  Undecided

It all boils down to opinion. Some people hate Revo, some people got bored of Classic, and some people think AA is overwhelming. At the same time, some love Revo, some love Classic, and some love the challenge of AA.

There has got to be SEVERAL older threads dealing with this topic that you can find if you do a bit of digging.

17  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Keep or Part with FTTOM TB? on: February 08, 2013, 09:08:46 AM
If you asked me, i would sell it if the price is right. I used to have 4 superior leg work TB and i sold 1 with the full set of Stacy since the price is right, and since i have 3 more, so... Smiley

FTTOM is only usable in YFH. Basically if i am forming benoit/crippler or angle, i wouldnt actually touch that card at all.

/disagree  used to pull FTT off with that one guy we don't talk about quite often.
You pulled it off with Bruce Stark?

Now there's a name I haven't heard in 5-6 years!! Oh, the memories.
18  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Keep or Part with FTTOM TB? on: February 07, 2013, 02:18:43 PM
I had both sets as well. Never really ever played Benoit, so I went onto the Singapore boards and found someone to buy my entire Benoit set, TB included.

I keep the non-TB as part of my Angle set, who I played a little more often, but never used that stip anyways.

I don't miss the card. I'm fairly certain I only ever used it once anyway. Now my Undertaker set...I don't think I could sell it for $500 and he barely has money cards (compared to the other Premier guys). Too much sentimental value for me.
19  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Re: Adult Living on: February 03, 2013, 09:06:02 AM
We had a similar issue when my wife and I decided to move provinces. We had to find work, a house, and buy a car. Our issue was finding the right order - we couldnt get a house or car without a job, but didnt want a job that would be too far from our ideal community. It was a juggle, but we had all three within 2 weeks.

On the car note - we bought one because the public transportation was non-existent. If you can do without a car, do it. I break down our expenses monthly and a car costs as much as our rent does. On top of that, we have student loans that cost as much as our rent does. We both worked two-part time jobs for 50-60 hours each to make that happen. That's basically what it boils down to - if you want it to happen, you need to get resourceful and make it happen. Study on your commute, find a job closer to home, or school to cut travel time, etc.

We only lasted a year, doing two part time jobs. We weren't enjoying life as much as we wanted, so we moved back to our home province to use our networks to get better jobs. Within 1 month of being home, both of us have career jobs in our fields. If it can work out for me, it can work out for anyone.

So what are the rest of the numbers?? I need to know who to cheer!!
21  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Royal rumble discussion thread on: January 26, 2013, 02:49:06 PM

...now this is where it gets good.

Rock vs CM Punk:  CM Punk retains.  With help from Maddox.  This leads to Elimination Chamber, with Punk/Rock/Ryback/D-Bry/Ziggler/Kane  (the last three aren't really important)  What IS important is Rock going over Punk.  Sure, it gives us Rock/Cena II at WrestleMania, but it ALSO gives Punk a reason to play the "Rematch Clause" card, making it Rock/Cena/Punk at Mania.  Sure, Cena wins, blah blah blah, but at least it isn't a rehash of last year's match.

If this actually happens, I'm cyber-punching you. There is nothing "good" about that scenario  laugh

I associate Union Underground with the  "Triple H era" and Papa Roach with the "John Cena era". Not my favourite times in wrestling...
24  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: 20th Anniversary Raw on: January 16, 2013, 03:37:40 PM
They may not be much of a wrestling company these days?

Did you see Cena/Dolph tear the house down last week?? Did you see the Barrett/Orton match on Raw? Cena may be beating Dolph, but Ziggler is looking like a million bucks in the meantime. I'm 100% sure he'll be champ by or at Mania - no doubt in my mind.

For WWE, these past two weeks have been some of the best wrestling in a while in my opinion, but as you said, you're used to PWG standards and didn't watch it.
25  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: Card of the Day/Week on: January 14, 2013, 07:30:37 PM
Oh the memories. Kurt Angle with this card (and its heel counterpart) was awesome!

I never owned Pat & Gerry, so never played this card to its full potential. Much preferred the heel counterpart, though.
