I wanted to comment on a question in the last DoD about the worst era in wrestling history, because I disagreed with the answers given... but not wanting to disrupt the game, it seems better to start a new topic.
My opinion was that the worst era wasn't mentioned, it was the post-Invasion era. After WCW was bought and ECW closed down, and all the 'extra' guys were let go by WWE, they had no competition and settled into a fairly boring rut. HHH ruled Raw, had merged the I/C title with the World title so there was only one champion, and tried to be hated with outrageous stuff like Katie Vick or borderline offensive stuff like the Wrestlemania Booker T angle, 'People like you'.
The only redeeming part of the only wrestling company available to watch was the Smackdown Six, tearing it up in all kinds of variations of matchups. (For those who don't know, that's Angle, Edge, Benoit, Mysterio, Eddie, and Chavo) But other than that, most guys (especially on Raw) didn't really have storylines, they'd just go out and wrestle. It was a pretty boring time, and I barely watched Raw back then.
I saw the comments about the 92-94 era, but there's things we remember fondly from then: I.R.S., Doink, Repo Man, the other wacky characters they came up with. Sure, it was fairly goofy, but at least there was something memorable...
So what do you guys think, agree/disagree?

Couldnt agree more. Post Invasion/Draft era was AWFUL.
On top of the sour taste of the invasion, Stone Cold was gone, The Rock was gone, the draft broke up a bunch of great tag teams, 2 title belts was just stupid, ugh it makes me cringe.
My darkest memory of WWE is the Raw with Jericho, Christian, and the Ass Cream. I just remember the payoff to the show being shillouettes of Jericho and Christian running around naked behind the titan tron screen looking for the gym bags. And the faces (I think it was Bubbah, Kane, and Bradshaw) are in the ring laughing.
That was the first memory I have of thinking "OMG wrestling sucks, I might not watch this anymore..."
