Maybe a Mcmahon-Helmsley Chairman Superstar card?
2  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / I was gonna give Rumble the Gore, but that's too obvious. on: May 16, 2013, 08:18:31 PM

1. OK, Buddha wanted to know what the most influential era in wrestling history was. I'm gonna flip the script. What era of wrestling history was the worst, or least influential, and why?

The months after WM X7 until the Jericho unified the titles.  We had the "I want Vince to like me" Stone Cold Steve Austin that made no sense.  Then we had the whole Invasion storyline with horrific storytelling, nonsensical heel turns, and horribly wasted potential.  Not to mentionn Sarah Undertaker beating DDP.  If it wasn't for Shane vs Kurt at King of the Ring would ANY match in that time period be remembered for anything positive?  I don't think I have a single match from that time on any of the DVD's I own and I own A LOT of DVD's.

Quote
2. The NHL and NBA playoffs are going on right now, which leaves me thinking. Of the athletes in those two sports, which would make the best professional wrestler and why? What would their finisher be, and what would they use as their entrance theme?

I feel that the character of Mantaur was very underdeveloped and not explored in the WWF, so I think we need to revisit that with Rumble the Bison, mascot for the Oklahoma City Thunder.  In 2009 he won Mascot of the Year, so he's not stranger to fame and beating the odds.  His theme would be a reworked version of Earthquake's entrance but with the beat sped up slightly faster and would start off with the sound of loud crack of lightning to pay homage to his backstory.    His finisher would be the Rumble-driver!  It would very similar to a  Quackendriver 3 but performed by a giant freaking buffalo!  If he fails to get over on his own, we'll bring in Tatanka as a manager.

3. A hammer falls on Vince McMahon's head. When he wakes up, as far as he knows, it's January, 2006, and he's got a great idea: the Spirit Squad! Which 5 members of the WWE and NXT rosters comprise the Spirit Squad today? Be funny. Friendly advice: suggesting Dolph Ziggler go back to the Spirit Squad is boring, not funny.

Hmmmm,

Justin Gabriel would be the high flying Kenny of the group.
AJ would be the screaming replacement for Mikey.
johnny was a "kung-fu expert" so we'd throw in Yoshi tatsu.
Mitch was the technically sound one so we'd give that to Daniel Bryan.
Nicky was a bumping machine, so that honor would go to Heath Slater.

They would, of course, feud with Rumble the Buffalo over who was the best mascot for a Superstar.

I'll give it a try!
4  Raw Deal / Virtual Raw Deal / Re: Did I miss something here? on: May 13, 2013, 05:16:18 AM
The Legacy Superstar is a Classic Superstar.  The card design just uses the Revo look.

He uses the bills (usually fronted by a $100 bill) for photo-ops. Along with the Million Dollar Belt.

Very good stuff!  Smiley

That is glorious!  I heard him on Art of Wrestling and he seems like a great guy!
6  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Shane O'Mac's Tornado DDT on: May 10, 2013, 01:12:31 PM
Its not entirely fluff.  The maneuver portion would still be effective for McMahon Dynasty, right?
7  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Hayabusa & Great Muta (W/pic) superstars card on: May 05, 2013, 05:21:36 PM
Thanks for letting me know.  An exploding steel cage match?  That's....wow. That's something different.
8  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: Hayabusa & Great Muta (W/pic) superstars card on: May 05, 2013, 11:34:52 AM
I just noticed that huge scar down Hayabusa's chest!  Shocked  Shocked  What the heck?  Thought he was a high flyer, not a hardcore fighter?

My knowledge of FMV is VERY limited to a DVD I have of them vs ECW.

These are good cards, though.  The abilities seem a little weak since they don't have any support cards, but they look fun.  Maybe if Muta made Spit at Opponent a F:0 card as well and if Hayabusa reduced all cards with "Drop Kick" in the title by 6 fort.
9  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Also, when are we going to get a Rikishi remake in the form of The Sultan? on: May 05, 2013, 11:28:36 AM
What is it about the Repo Man that remains in our memories so long after he has faded? I don't recall any memorable feuds or matches or even the theme music.  Why does he stay fresh in our minds while so many fade away?     Why not Battle Kat or Who or that magic guy Phantasmo or something?

I'd love for him to be a star so I'm all for the hashing out of his card.  I'm not sure that it will convince the Dev team to make him, but it certainly can't hurt their chances.

Question 1:

John Cena.  Boy, he sure set the world on fire when he brought out his thug rapper gimmick.  I mean it.  Makes you wonder what would have happened had he not shown up that fateful Halloween edition dressed as Vanilla Ice.  Let's run with that, shall we?
Imagine, if you will, that John Cena never DID dress as Vanilla Ice and lay down that freestyle.  Where would Cena's career have gone?  And what would the WWE look like today?

Question 2:

Let's continue with the whole "John Cena isn't a rapper".  Vince McMahon JUST got around to watching 8 Mile, and thought that a battle rap in the main event of our next PPV would be a GREAT idea!  Take two wrestlers (excluding Cena of course) and put them one on one in a battle rap.  Two verses each, back and forth.  Don't just pick two random guys...pick two that would make sense to go against each other.

Question 3:

Epic Rap Battles Of History just finished their 2nd season.  That's 33 battles.  I want you to give me your Top 5, in order, and tell me why they are in the slot they are in.  Just so you know, there IS a correct answer as to what deserves to be ranked as high as it is, and the #1 Battle is set in stone.  Good luck.

1.  Cena would have been future endeavored in 2007 after a semi memorable run as InterNational Champion (The combined Intercontinental and European Championship belts.)  He had a good feud with Randy Orton while Cena was a member of HBK's stable "The Evolved but after they broke up, he floundered in Mid Card.  However, we'd be seeing a lot more of Batista!  In the early 2000's, desperate for something edgy to get people talking again, Vince decides to cash in on the corrupt church vibe and ramp up Reverend D-Von and his assistant, Deacon Bautista.  D-Von starts getting a more gaudy but extravagent entrance set and collection box even as he becomes increasingly more evil and heelish.  Eventually it is revealed that The Reverend is being backed by Million Dollar Man and the three of them form the Heel Stable, THE MEGACHURCH!  Batista continues to be D-Von and the MDM's lacky for almost 6 months before turning on the evil Reverend and hitting him with the collection box!  That propels him into a feud with D-Von's main follower, an up and comer named Brian Kendrick.  Batista wins that feud and goes on to cement his place in the WWE history by winning a power vs power battle at WM against Brock Lesnar.

2.  Vince decides that after their brawl at the Rumble, Cody Rhodes and older brother Goldust should rap battle in the ring.

Goldust:
I cannot believe you're my half-brother, I got my skills from Dad, you got yours from your mother.
I go by Dustin Runnels, I don't need the last name.  You go by Rhodes to piggyback on dad's fame.
I'm a Raw Deal Starter Deck; I got foils and all.  Your Raw Deal cards are printed at the mall.

Cody Rhodes:
Sorry, Dakota, I hate to do this to your dad, but comparing our careers, his makes me sad.
He was a champ, but look who he faced, a Road Dogg and a pimp, the belt he disgraced.
I've beaten Big Show, Dolph Ziggler, and Randy Orton.  He pin any hall-of-famers? Nope, not one.
So he had a unique finish, a shot to the balls.  That's fantastic if you're wrestling in bingo halls.   Raw Deal superstars, yeah I've got three; myself, Priceless, AND Legacy!

Goldust:
You'll never with the big one, you always choke. Like your song says, you're just mirrors and smoke.
You bore the fans, they only cheer for your stache, you look like a porn star or you're gonna sell me some hash.
Team Rhode Scholars seems desperate to me. I've been tag champs with Booker T.
We were a real team, we didn't need a dumb name.  Now go lose to Hell No, yawn, the match is always the same.

Cody Rhodes:
You make-up wearing freak, you're a joke, a disease.  I wish you didn't grow from ANY family trees.
I'm a multi-time champ, and I'll win again of course. I win a belt every time you divorce.
Your Wrestlemania moment is being a cross-dressing freak, I have more memorable matches every single week.
I'll keep it simple, your make-up makes you look like a whore.  I'm out of here, I'm gonna go,  because when its all said and done, I'm still on the show.  Enjoy being an agent, I'm sure its hard work, watching the monitor while making your curtain jerk.

3.
I've only seen a few of these, but I did enjoy what I've watched.

5. Mr T vs Mr. Rogers- This...shouldn't have been. Mr Rogers is one of the nicest people and this was just creepy, but train-wreck fascinating.  I couldn't look away.
4. Beethoven vs Beiber  It was clever and the rhymes were fun, but I'm generally tired of people taking shots at Beiber.  Its too easy a target these days. Its like beating 3MB.
3. Gates vs Jobs: This one was catchy.  HAL FTW.
2. Vader vs Hitler: I think this put the Epic in Epic Rap battle
1. Hogan and Macho vs Kim Jong Il.  This was the first one I saw.  It has a special place for me.
11  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Ultimate TCO Dungeon of Doom: The Revival on: April 29, 2013, 09:34:06 PM
This is...not as quick and easy as previous DoD's.   I'll make it my priority project for tomorrow.  I can't battle rap off the top of my head.
12  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Ultimate TCO Dungeon of Doom: The Revival on: April 25, 2013, 08:56:11 PM
I'll try again!  Go ahead, bridgekeeper, ask your questions!  I'm not afraid.
13  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Ultimate TCO Dungeon of Doom: The Revival on: April 19, 2013, 08:47:05 PM
Really? Last place?  That Juan Cena joke killed in rehearsal!  Maybe it lost something when translated from Klingon.  Ah well, I'll get it next time!
14  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / I lasted 7 rounds with the champ. on: April 18, 2013, 08:20:28 PM
Sorry guys, SOMEONE beat me senseless on Lackey League last night and I wasn't able to brain up any answers.

1.) Imagine that 4 aliens showed up tomorrow and has challenged humanity to War Games, the Match Beyond, for the fate of humanity. Of course they're the heels, so they win the coin toss… What 5 "wrestlers," in the categories listed below, would you choose to defend the fate of humanity?  Defend your choices

Any female wrestler from any time period:
A currently deceased or in the WWE Hall of Fame Wrestler:
An active Wrestler currently on WWE or TNA:
An active wrestler alive today currently not on WWE or TNA:
Any wrestling manager, alive or dead:

Any female wrestler from any time period: Saturnye.  The Sci-Fi name gives her a psychological edge and she's pretty awesome.
A currently deceased or in the WWE Hall of Fame Wrestler: Ravishing Rick Rude. He could remove his robe and show those aliens what a real human looks like.
An active Wrestler currently on WWE or TNA: Chris Jericho. They will mistake his jacket for futuristic armor!
An active wrestler alive today currently not on WWE or TNA: Juan Cena, John's Masked Mexican cousin, who's contract apparently expired since we haven't seen much of him lately.
Any wrestling manager, alive or dead: Bobby Heenan.  He's the brain.  He managed more champions than George Steinbrenner.

2.) I can't stand the lack of managers/mouthpieces in Wrestling today…  And the mouthpiece CM Punk has, HE DOESN'T NEED. Anyway, cut a promo getting over your wrestlers for War games as the manager you chose in part 1…

Listen you non-humaniods, before you stand the greatest warriors that Earth has ever seen and with me as their leader, we can't lose. You can all go back to Uranus because my team will destroy you and then we'll destroy Hulkamania.
Juan Cena: I don't wanna destroy Hulkamania.
Bobby: Shut up, you little jumping bean.  As long as you're on my team, you'll destroy who I want you to destroy and that's Hulkamania.

Quote
3.) **Spoiler Alert**

The heels lost at War Games. They demand another contest to determine the fate of the world, this time at fighting video games. Who is your favorite fighting video game character, and why? Assume I don't know who your video game character is… As if this were an intellectual debate, I will attempt to put my biases aside and dish out points to this question solely on your argument alone.

Earthworm Jim from Clayfighters.  Who says that Humanity's last hope must be human?  He's a worm that achieved sentience when an alien power suit fell on him.  Now he protects Earth from a variety of alien threats with his trusty ray gun and by using his own body like a whip!   When he puts his body on the line, he literally puts his body on the line!

(There you go.  Hope it was worth the wait.)

What about non-superstar specifics that reference a superstar specifically?  Can your Jerry Lawler and Million Dollar Man pack Falling Fist Drop?  Can your Edge and Christian pack the new Con-Chair-To card?
18  Raw Deal / Rules Forum / I feel like I am asking a silly question, but I just wanna be sure. on: April 14, 2013, 09:24:05 AM
But how about Fall-Away Suplex?

Quote
When this card is in your Ring area, your cards with the word "suplex" in the title are +1D.

It does increase its own damage, thus modifying itself, making itself a target for Straight Edge Superstar?

I doubt that anyone would overturn 5 to avoid that +1D, but its the first example I could think of.
19  Everything Else / General Chat / Re: The players around you... on: April 13, 2013, 10:38:53 PM
Virtual Cards do give people who are using them an advantage over people who aren't using them.  Its true. Its true.  Every superstar is given a huge boost by his Virtual superstar card. Admittedly, the entire point of the Virtual 1 set is to give weaker superstars more power and make them fun and competitive to play, so it shouldn't be a shock whenever someone who isn't playing with Virtual cards assumes that your awesome virtual cards gave you the edge you need to defeat them.

However, once that person has learned of virtual cards, there isn't anything stopping him from going and printing off his own virtual cards and battling you with them. The joy of virtual cards is that ANYONE can get them.  It doesn't come down to who bought the most packs or spent the most time bidding on E-Bay to get the uber awesome prematch card or the amazing Trademark Finisher.
20  Raw Deal / Fantasy Cards / Re: My Fandango it OUT to for a dance!! on: April 11, 2013, 05:21:58 AM
The "your opponent overturns cards - to half the damage" seems overpowered, but I do think the part about placing actions back in the arsenal to search for kick/leg cards is pretty cool.

Would "Gooooooooo!"  reverse from arsenal if it’s FAHN...' & '...DAHN...' isn't in the ring?

1) WWE has had video games for years, but they've decided that it's about time to go in a new direction.  What type of game is it? What's the title, and the premise?

Research for this question has made realize just how many different types of games the WWE has actually released.

ummmmm.....Wow.  They've really..yeah.....wh at haven't they done?

Oooooh, they've never had a tower defense game like plants vs Zombies or...well, I can't think of any other tower defense games. Except...this will be a RING defense game.

Oh no!  The fans didn't like the main event!  Now they are making their way to the ring to tear it down.  Vince has to send his superstars out to protect it from the hordes of refund demanding former fans.

You'd select different WWE superstars who would use their unique abilities to protect the squared circle at all costs.

Brodus Clay, Heath Slater, Hunico, Great Khali = These are your standard superstars who are good against your regular fans, but don't have any special abilities.

Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Justin Gabriel= These high flyers are good for intercepting the fans coming in from above, aka the ones literally hanging from the rafters.

Nikki Bella, Alicia Foxx, Aksana= These Divas don't do much against regulars fans, but they are great for distracting the teenagers who sprint to the ring quicker than normal fans.

Undertaker, HHH, Brock Lesnar, = These powerhouses will stop a large number of fans, but don't count on them to save you often because they appear infrequently.

2) Apparently Wrestlemania was a letdown (I didn't get a chance to watch it, but I've been reading the thread here about it)  You get to change one match, what is it and how do you change it?  If you choose to remove it, what do you replace it with?

I'd remove the Jericho/Fandango match.  It was okay, but I don't think Fandango was really worth his debut match on Mania and I think the crowd felt the same way.  Given how close we are to Long Island, I'd have had Antonio Cesaro come out and say how much he wanted to annex the New York/New Jersey area out of the USA.  This would cause Ryder to come out and they would have a match.  Cesaro would win and start beating up Ryder after the match. This would cause Foley to make the save and we'd have a Long Island moment.

Quote
3) You get to send a team of up to 5 people to North Korea to talk to Kim Jong Un to try to negotiate a peaceful resolution to what's going on. Who do you choose to send, and why?

I'd send Jason, Trini, Kimberly, Zach, and Billy, the original Power Rangers. They'd arrive in their giant freaking robot of doom and give Kim a reminder of what would happen if he got out of line.
23  Raw Deal / General Discussion: Raw Deal / Re: <Revolution> Divas? on: April 07, 2013, 08:58:48 AM
I agree.  I believe they would have their limitation.  Personally, I'm in favor of Divas entering the world of Revolution.

Any must-have Divas?

Hmmmmmm  I'd go with Beth Phoenix.  She seems like the most influential diva of this era.

I wonder if the WWE made the Streak DVD because they figured the Streak had capped its marketing potential and wanted to release the "undefeated streak" DVD before Taker finally lost?
