make sense to me. it's a safety issue and a quality issue. he's not in the indies anymore, he doesn't have to go all out all the time to get noticed. he's already been noticed.

i've had quite a few guys tell me "if you feel like you're going to slow out there, slow down."

Thank you, Homeless and Llama!

We have our fave five (dammit, Booker, shut up), so now let's get to the questions!

1. OK, Buddha wanted to know what the most influential era in wrestling history was. I'm gonna flip the script. What era of wrestling history was the worst, or least influential, and why?

2. The NHL and NBA playoffs are going on right now, which leaves me thinking. Of the athletes in those two sports, which would make the best professional wrestler and why? What would their finisher be, and what would they use as their entrance theme?

3. A hammer falls on Vince McMahon's head. When he wakes up, as far as he knows, it's January, 2006, and he's got a great idea: the Spirit Squad! Which 5 members of the WWE and NXT rosters comprise the Spirit Squad today? Be funny. Friendly advice: suggesting Dolph Ziggler go back to the Spirit Squad is boring, not funny.

1) least influential, hmmm.... probably a few years ago. with the brand split and wwecw and the declining ratings. just steady years of cena orton and batista on top. nothing new. nothing exciting. nothing from then has really shaped anything we have now.

2) other sports? i know nothing about other sports. i'll go with harvey birdman's brother, larry bird(man). entrance theme = number one stunna by birdman. finisher = the audu-bomb. it's a tigerbomb. for the sort of reverse chicken-wing setup.

3) damien sandow, writes the cheers.
sin cara, constantly botches the pyramid.
william regal, to show his utter contempt with having to do it and for his squad-mates.
mark henry, because THAT'S WHAT HE DOES!
cody rhodes' moustache, actually gets them a reaction.

Welcome back to Buddah's Dungeon...  Your participants

1.) Commissioner D2
2.) Ziggy Zenf
3.) Homeless
4.) dilbert505
5.) ins9145

Alternate.) Millerson (feel free to PM me answers and if someone drops or can't answer in time, ill throw your answers in)

Be forewarned, I wasn't feeling well before the weekend started, and I think Tony Vela master of SoCalRawDeal tourneys didn't make me feel any better, so I'm a little out of it and a lot drugged up. These questions may seem a bit off, and I'm sure when I reread them when sober, I'll wonder what I was thinking...  But trudge on!

1.) So I got to speaking with some wrestling fans that I genuinely respect and we each had a different answer to a particular question.  Eventually, we got in to arguments over this quetion and now I pose it to you all. This question is meant to be very open-ended so I don't mind long winded answers for once...  In your opinion, what specific wrestling era is the most influential and why? (I'm looking for persuasive arguments to this question, not passionate ones for once.)

2.) Alternative Wrestling Timeline question! Pick a wrestler from from your chosen era in Part 1 and book a dream match with any active wrestler today and tell me why anyone should care to see it...

3.) So at the Adam Crites memorial this past weekend much ado was made about Zeke (who obviously didn't win)... In one match a player I respect very highly likened him to something unstoppable, a veritable "Juggernaut" and that his Superstar card should have Zeke shopped to have him wearing the Juggernaut helmet with a text box screaming "I'm the Juggernaut, female dog!" This popped me huge and I swore to somehow turn this into a question in DoD, so here it is... Everyone that has played Raw Deal has lost a Raw Deal game very badly: got every card reversed, rolled for 50D+, and not able to do a thing about it. I'm not interested in how it happened but I am your interested in your entertaining non-wrestling pop-culture based simile describing the severity of the beating to me after the fact.

1) "slam bang western style wrestling." brought to us in the 1920s by the "gold dust trio."  after frank gotch retired and controversy over wrestling's legitimacy was on the rise, the popularity of our beloved sport was dropping. so ed "strangler" lewis, billy sandow and toots mondt decided to restructure pro-wrestling. they introduced the first wrestling promotion, the first instances of storylines, the use of flashy new moves like the suplex and arm drags and body slams, as well as allowing punching, "the finish," an undercard, "working" and programs, among other things. they built the foundation for what wrestling is today, and without it, wrestling as we know it would not exist. this was mostly the brain-child of toots. and later on toots would mentor vince sr AND help him create the wwwf. even being the man to first push the great bruno sammartino as a main-event star. not only the most influential era in wrestling history, but toots mondt is probably the most influential man in wrestling history.

2) as the most feared and dangerous hooker of the "gold dust trio" era, i choose ed "strangler" lewis. vs? as much as i'd love to see how someone from back then would handle a gigantic freak of nature like mark henry,  i'm gonna go with daniel bryan. he's the closest thing to a hooker this generation has, and though lewis outweighs him i think bryan could take the fight to him(he has wrestled a bear, after all). oh, the stretching there will be...

3) *answer place holder* i have to think about this one. it's been a loooooooong time.

All right then!

1) Buddha Dudley
2) Homeless
3) Ziggy Zenf
4) Dilbert505
5) Commissioner D2

1) You wake up in the backstage area for Raw, locked in Max Moon's old costume, and Kevin Dunn tells you that you have a match against Fandango. Cut a short (emphasis on SHORT) promo and figure out a finish, because until this match is over, you're not getting out of that thing.

2) Having escaped the wardrobe of the man from Uranus, you stumble into Paul Heyman, who is looking for ideas for a gimmick match for Extreme Rules. You can put anybody in the midcard in it, and no blading allowed (so no variations on the first blood match!), so figure out a fun gimmick and put two guys in it. Extra points if it all makes sense together.

3) As we all know, special attacks in RPGs have been getting longer and flashier and more like cutscenes than actual swings of the sword or even the flashes of Ultima and Luminaire. Describe a special move for a wrestling-based RPG that is just as ridiculous as Knights of the Round or an FF XII Quickening chain, without destroying the arena.

1) da da da da da..... i got my own catchy song too, son! it goes "EEP! OPP! ORK! AH-AH! THAT MEANS I'MMA EFF YOU UP!!" *drops mic. it's attached to a string and someone behind the scenes uses this to make it moon bounce away.*

fandango to the top rope for the leg drop. moon goes to drop kick fandango off the top, but instead fandango hits the leg drop while moon is horizontal in the air! fdango unchained wins.

2) paul heyman presents: mark henry vs the ryback, in an EXTREME DWARF TOSS JAMBOREE!!! neither competitor is allowed to touch each other(they ARE allowed to touch themselves) but they are allowed to throw dwarves at each other. and in an extreme dwarf toss jamboree, the ring and surrounding area is littered with little people(mostly lucha mini's). the winner is the first one to knock his opponent down.

3) it's late in the match against a difficult super boss of an opponent. luckily, i have just enough mp left to use my LWO materia. so i cast "fin último", and similar to the knights of the round table's "ultimate end," one by one each member of the lwo hits their finisher on the opponent. Hector Garza, Ciclope, Damien, Villano V, Silver King, El Dandy, La Parka, Psychosis, Juventud Guerrera, Rey Mysterio Jr. and finally Eddie Guerrero with the frog splash to end it.

Slowing harassment/bullying has to be a mind change that includes the bully and the bullied alike.
right, totally agree. the problem is, nobody does it. they just accept that "kids will be cruel" and that's it. even you, this is the first time you brought up that the bully needs to change too.

yes, i know we're all different. the point isn't that we are different, it's that our differences are no reason for someone to decide "i have to attack this person." also, i'm not sure where you get the idea that society is trying to take away our differences. could you explain?

Quote
A person who is happy, comfortable with themselves will typically have way less problems with harassment or bullying.

agreed. unfortunately, it's hard to be like that when your formative years are filled with your peers telling you all the reasons you are less than a person.

yeah, people are going to dislike other people but that isn't a reason to attack them. i dislike a bunch of people, but i don't attack them, i simply don't talk to them. freedom of speech is great and all, but our society puts so much emphasis on its inherent selfishness, "i can say whatever i want. f*** everybody else, if they have a problem they can eat a d***." there is very little "yeah, i could say this, but should i?" just because you CAN do something, doesn't make it right. freedom of speech is no excuse for being an awful person.

16  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Re: Bullying/Anti-Bullying vs. Parenting (NSFW?) on: April 11, 2013, 11:31:08 PM
just because different states define it differently doesn't mean they are right. it just means they are misinformed and/or have no idea what they're talking about. chances are the people making these legal definitions never been raped. at what point is rape not rape? if there are these supposed various definitions of rape, then which ones aren't?

Quote
Some of the best times a group of friends have is clowning each other or getting clowned by your friends.

key word in that is FRIENDS. when my friends tease me, it's ok(most of the time) because they know i know they're not trying to put me down. they only tease me about things i joke about. they know who i am and what i've been through because they were going through it with me. but when other people do it, people i have no relationship with other than we work at the same place or we go to the same school or we just happen to be in the same place at the same time, these other people who don't  know me, who aren't my friends, when they start calling me names, mocking my weight, how i talk, how i look, insulting my intelligence, when other people do that they are using verbal abuse to put themselves in a place of power over me. they are being bullies whether they realize it or not. and that crap about kids being targeted because of how they react is complete bull. we were targeted because we were different. how we reacted didn't matter. i know because i tried everything i could think of to get them to stop and nothing worked. yeah, we learned to deal with it and we got past it, but i can tell you i'm not better for it. i graduated high school 10 years ago, but my walls are still up. my self-esteem is still low. i'm completely insecure.

it's great  to teach kids to deal with it, but that doesn't address the problem. the lesson children should be taught is to not be a bully. don't treat other people like crap.
17  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Re: Bullying/Anti-Bullying vs. Parenting (NSFW?) on: April 11, 2013, 12:59:40 AM
i suppose i can see that. and i hope that is what he meant, hopefully he'll actually use the word 'allegedly' to avoid confusion next time. but what about the pictures? and just because her attackers weren't charged, doesn't mean they didn't rape her. that's a problem with rape cases, they're under-reported and people blame the victim. not just "she was asking for it," but also "she knew what she was doing, she just regrets her actions and is claiming rape to protect herself." and people use that to get away with it.

what i can't see is how rape can mean different things to different people. bully? maybe, though that is one of its problems, that people think something that is bullying isn't. but rape? no, rape is rape. there is no "she was only raped a little" or that idiot politician's "illegitimate rape."

i don't know which story this case is, but what it sounds like to me, she was drunk and 4 guys decided to rape her. other people claimed she was lying and a slut, so the attackers weren't charged. she says she was raped and nobody believes her. instead she is bullied to the point of suicide because she was raped. it happens a lot.

18  Everything Else / Rants Forum / Re: Bullying/Anti-Bullying vs. Parenting (NSFW?) on: April 10, 2013, 10:51:08 PM
i totally agree with jokerfish. i can relate.

and yeah, parents can try to help, sometimes they do, sometimes they make it worse. the best we can do is raise our kids to not be little douchebags and hope other parents will do the same.

something worth watching, i know that feels.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltun92DfnPY&feature=player_embedded

one big issue i'm surprised no one has addressed, in the initial post the word raped is in quotations.
Quote
She was at a party with another girl and four guys. The girl left, she got wasted and apparently the four guys took advantage of this and "raped" her and took pictures and posted it online.
to me, that implies that because the girl was drunk, 4 guys taking advantage isn't rape. which is horrible and hopefully not what the original poster believes. but there are people out there who do think like that. just because a female is drunk or scantily clad that they are "asking for it" and that is why they were raped. as if that makes it ok. that line of thinking is also insulting to men as it implies we are nothing but slaves to a base urge and the only thing keeping us from raping is the amount of clothes someone is wearing. that kind of victim blaming basically says of men that “we have no control over what we want, have no restraint when we want it and it’s their fault that they can’t protect themselves from us.”
19  Everything Else / Professional Wrestling Discussion / Re: Ultimate TCO Dungeon of Doom: The Revival on: April 09, 2013, 04:25:59 PM
Okay, time for some questions, sorry for the delay.

1) WWE has had video games for years, but they've decided that it's about time to go in a new direction.  What type of game is it? What's the title, and the premise?

2) Apparently Wrestlemania was a letdown (I didn't get a chance to watch it, but I've been reading the thread here about it)  You get to change one match, what is it and how do you change it?  If you choose to remove it, what do you replace it with?

3) You get to send a team of up to 5 people to North Korea to talk to Kim Jong Un to try to negotiate a peaceful resolution to what's going on. Who do you choose to send, and why?

Your answers can be as long as you feel is necessary, but try to keep me interested.  If I get bored reading your answer and start skimming it you might not get rewarded the way you should.  These aren't really short answer questions, so give it some thought. =)

1) wwe tactics: war of the lions. think final fantasy tactics and tactics ogre, but with added wrestling moves. set in a far off mystical place, the nations of smackdownia and raw-madania are at war! you play "rookie"(customizable sprite and name) who is caught in the middle of it all. deceit, blackmail, treason and murder are rampant. it's your job to get to the bottom of it, stop the war and save the world from the true threat lurking in the shadows. along the way you encounter a plethora of superstars, past and present. some friend, some foe. you can hire "jobber" troops that you can slowly mold into mighty warriors using the job system. all jobs based on wrestling gimmicks, ie: celtic warrior, nature boy, deadman, dr death, etc.

2) i enjoyed the show, save the last 2 matches. but i didn't sweat it as they weren't why i wanted to see it. i'd take hhh out of his match and let brock fight.... well anybody that isn't hhh. 3mb, r-truth, michael cole, a lion, a hungry ethiopian child, a bag of dead cats, the dried wrinkled remains of foley's missing ear, mark and mae's son, literally anybody not named paul levesque would have been more entertaining. hell, it wouldn't even have to be a match, just brock lesnar playing pogs or something.

3) i'd send the 5 greatest rappers of all time: dylan, dylan, dylan, dylan and dylan. because he spits hot fire.

we had a show saturday night and we got the whole thing on the youtube. i thought i'd share the playlist for anyone interested in checking out a small piece of the georgia indy scene.

match 1:
insane tommy dame vs james morgan in a lumberjack strap match. (some fans were handed belts to whip the wrestlers if they exited the ring)

match 2:
jon davis(of fip/roh) vs the desperado christian walker

match 3:
pure goodness vs blake austin(replacing psyche) in a table match

match 4:
the real deal jake slater vs PAIN

match 5:
the winnersville classic cassius clay vs homeless vs white trash fred for the epw heavyweight title. (fred claimed to have won a raffle with the prize being a title shot. he obviously wrote it himself, but i let him in the match anyway.)

match 6:
blaine rage vs the warhorse kevin kantrell

alright, well your time is up. my time is now. ....why? why am i quoting cena?

anyway, sorry bigpimpin and d2, i got to do it without you guys.

1) defend a title against a masked superstar.

correct answer: in a title defense against mantaur, his massive mask head is removed by a wild yakuza kick, revealing his actual head: an actual bull head. mantaur is counted out as he flees the arena trying to hide his freakishness.

daeva: 4. i like it, just ekhari's a little better.
ekhari: 5. i like the idea of defending an actual black belt. and i'm imagining the leap of death as that thing jann lee does in doa, though i know the description is different.
dudley: 3.  it's good, but i enjoyed the others a bit more.

2) the amazing/spectacular/superior/ultimate <insert superstar here>-man.

correct answer: jericho is bitten by a radioactive lightning bug and no longer needs his led jacket to create the same effect. unfortunately, a terrible particle accelerator accident gives the charisma-black hole steve blackman the ability to absorb the light. batman lets jericho join because he is still more useful than aquaman.

daeva: 4. ha! bird people....
ekhari: 5. yes! dancing japanese movie monsters, wanton destruction, great.
dudley: 3. i like that he still spits water, but i had to take points for lack of batman. superman might be dc's jesus, but batman is dc's god. what he says goes.

3) learning the ropes.

correct answer: i don't have one for this. but i'd totally put kate micucci in it.

daeva: 5. love it. i imagine punk and heyman yelling out something equivalent to "sweep the leg!"
ekhari: 4. i love big show and the masked giant deal, but i liked daeva's answer just a bit better.
dudley: 1(3). sorry, but the only thing i hate more than zombies and superman is time travel.

final scores:
daeva: 13
ekhari: 14
dudley: 7(9)

ekhari wins. fatality.

next round:
dm-ekhari
1, homeless
2. ?
3. ?
4. ?
5.?

okay.

1. i'm defending my epw heavyweight title this saturday in my hometown. so YOU will be defending your own random championship against a random masked superstar in where ever the hell you want. who are you facing and how does the finish go down?

2. choose a superstar. remember, fire types are good against plant types but weak against water types, etc... now, your superstar has been bitten by a radioactive _______. describe this new super-superstar's powers and his nemesis. does batman allow him into the justice league and why?

3. wwe films is working on an updated theatrical version of "learning the ropes." which superstar is the lead? who are his cast mates? and what's the rough plot?  learning the ropes = http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=N1fRXCKFrqw
