This poll comes as a result of a conversation where someone felt that knowledge of what kayfabe was is fairly common.

I figured I'd put that to the test.

Poll will run for 5 days, and then the results will be published.

I know the word but I'll be honest and say I wouldn't know the definition without looking it up.

I think it's like... the understood idea that wrestling fans accept the story as "truth" even though it's all constructed meticulously.

If I rember right it's the idea that all of wrestling is "Real" the people and the storylines. Just rember wrestling is carney and we should all play the games at the sideshow to give the promter all of out money.

I know the term from looking it up once, and could probably define it from memory, but yeah...good poll.

Of course I know what Kayfabe is.

It's that crappy action nobody's put in their deck in years.

isn't Kayfabe the term, wrestlers themselves, used for staying into character no matter what? Didn't the late Barron do an article on this?

Don't break kayfabe. don't break character. don't break that bond between fans and the character?

so i think i know so i am saying yes.

it is not the first rule of fight club!!! wtf!!!

Here's something I've learned getting in this business:

KAYFABE:  If you don't know what it means, keep buying the ticket.
