I don't think $22 is that much overpriced. They're probably worth about $15, but it's nice to get the whe set at once.

seeing as that most of these go for an average of $10 a piece. I would say there's a pretty high chance of random profiteering

pity he doesn't ship overseas

I don't think those go for any where near $10 a piece. I don't care what the final bid price is, if the seller doesn't get the money, it didn't really sell for that price.

well thats what nevansdaddy has been doing Wink and TBH I'm watching velacard's current auctions of those

Failing that there's always street value

I'd gladly have bought that set if I could; selling Keibler Instincts, Brave H and A Few Heel Men at street value would already cover the ~USD$25 needed to bring it in and the rest would just be bonus. I'll probably even get to fritter Eugene Gump and WKMC away

The whole point of this thread is about not trusting nevansdaddys auctions as legitimate, paid, not disputed auctions though, so using that seller as a reference doesn't really work.

we're gonna need more popcorn for this

that d***o (*223) guy has been a real jerk this past week, cranking up the prices for everyone. I hope he actually wins something Wink that'll teach him.

still for someone to post a max bid of >$47 is madness in itself

If he wins something, he'll back out and nevans will offer it to the second bidder for just below the super-inflated price. Hopefully, that person is sharp enough to just let the auction go instead of getting scammed.

Pretty sure that they are to pump up nevansdaddy's auctions. Where have you been for this entire thread?  laugh

literal answer? didn't get into ebay till recently so I've only read the last 5 pages of this thread

between piperspitt and my own observations, I've never really smelled any trickery on nevansdaddy's side. I'm more inclined to believe piperspitt's theory that all these are the work of immature people who just bid high and refuse to pay or who pay and then file disputes to get their money back. I prefer this theory since Occam's razor dictates that its much more preferable to Nevans maintaining a zombie army of 'bidders' to jack up her own prices

Another reason why I've been leaning towards piperspitt's theory is that nevans has been dawdling over shipping my friend's BIN stuff. Perhaps her time is being sapped with lunchtime convos with the ebay resolution people seeing as that his period coincides with some of the wackiest prices I've seen

It's always this seller getting the outrageous prices. You, me, he, she ... we can all theorize all we want, but something in the room smells horrible and it's all around, making it difficult to locate.

ive sold to that guy on multiple occasions, hes a fairly nice guy to deal with, he won a few of my auctions and then i sold him some stuff that i had not listed that he was looking for. he was part of the $62 lita action card and i asked if he wanted to buy one since i had a spare, and he said he wanted the card but got overly into the ebay bidding war that he is glad he lost it cuz he wouldnt have wanted to pay $62 for it.

whether that says anything against him being in cahoots with that seller or not is up to everyones discretion, but just figured id share that in this thread

And how do you know who the buyer is? The name is scambled so others DON'T know who they are. The listed name isn't real as to protect the identity of the buyer.

So unless you have dealt with someone who said they were the one who made this purchase, it would be impossible to know who actually did.

Just sayin'

I just want to point out that the way that ebay scrambles your name is always the same. So I (lordfa9) will always appear as o***d (7) IIRC as 7 is my current ebay rep

it wasnt hard to realize who the buyer was, theres a somewhat limited raw deal ebay market and a lot of buyers these days are relatively new to ebay so their feedback is low. that being said, this guy is easy to notice because he always bids .02 on things. so when you see someone bidding 7.02, 8.02, 25.02, etc, i know its him. combine that with the fact i sold to him before so i can always see his amount of feedback i then match that feedback # with the hidden ID on other auctions, and between those 2 facts it's obvious. i also messaged him asking if it was him bidding on the lita card and he said yes, he said the bidding war got the best of him and he was glad he lost. i keep in touch with him every now and then, checking on his card needs to see if i can help him out. that is how i know who it is.

if they didnt show the feedback, itd be a lot more difficult to tell, nearly impossible most likely, but they show it so its easier to tell.

If this goes right, it shouldn't be below $200.

For a partially complete set? No Freaks Are Cool, no AIUU, no Revolution cards? Maybe $60, but you would have to be insane to pay $200 for that.

I can see 100 maybe 125 but with US only it should struggle to go much past that. The lack of AIUU doesn't bother me that much, Freaks either version would of been nice but the lack of takers non unique premium rares is not good either. The Revolution cards can be hit or miss in a lot of ways.
