They're worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Looks like they were worth that much on that day.

The above mentioned Backstage Signatures are my auctions.

The winning bidder is a Singapore buyer (and TCO trader).  He only has a Feedback rating of 32 on Ebay, but actually has 242 Positive feedback total.  He buys a lot of items (mostly Raw Deal) from a small number of dealers.  His TCO trade rating is all positives with no negatives.  The second highest bidder is a US user with a 654 Feedback rating on Ebay.  I have no idea if he's on TCO.  I've never sold items to either of them in the past.

I agree that those auctions went higher than expected, but as near as I can tell, the bids are on the level.

Some stuff I've sold have gone higher than I've expected as well and it was Singapore buyers and they paid without any problems. Singapore buys always pay more.

Wow, is it that these don't go up on eBay too often, or are springboard dropkicks really this valuable? Seems to be going higher than some of the footstomps and patented kicks I've seen as of late!

Sometimes the version of the card has an effect, but it's not an important card in a Jericho deck at all. Being non-unique raises the value more than anything.

I have a playset of each version of this card and I never paid over $8 for each copy.

I really like the TB Spingboard over the original, but Piper does have a point...and the non-uniques do interact with World Tour, so there's a possibility of additional recovery, but I doubt it'd be worth the effort. Jericho was the first Raw Deal deck I ever built and ironically enough I NEVER built him seriously nor have I ever had any of his cards outside of the original starter. Hmmmmmm.

How are you getting the non-Uniques to pretend to be Unique for World Tour '05?

I have to agree with this one, people simply want 3 copies for their collection/set and that really inflates the demand

Easy, I just take the "Let's totally forget exactly what World Tour does" since it's been years since I've read it. LOL! I'm assuming that logic is bad.  Tongue

On a different note, when did Brock become so popular?  Or is this just another example of seller inflation?

seems legit to me, i bought a set at a very similar price

I guess shenanigans for this is confirmed. A friend of mine is one of the bidders and he told me last night that Nevansdaddy got a no-payer for this and offered him a 2nd chance at $12, which he declined

I agree with LordFa9 regarding the Brock set.  He was a big wrestler whose card's were only printed once.  Combine that with his recent return and Collegiate Champions and you have a recipe for a decently priced Superstar set.

I remember for quite some time Brock was a fairly popular superstar while the game was in print.

At least locally, people really took to him.

In our gaming group we played a lot of multiplayer games in big groups. I loved Brock because once you hit 35f, you put the fear of God into everyone at the table Tongue And there was always one idiot who forgot.

I'm building a Eugene deck that has the same purpose. Except that'll be the true fear of the unknown.

It was these kinds of things that I miss about the game when it was full swing. Much like if I played Brock, I ate a lot of Suicide Strikes just because my buddies enjoyed seeing my face when a strike actually hurt. A lot.

Exactly what Prong said here ... Collegiate Champions is an in demand card right now, so that certainly does drive up the desire of this set.

It does look like it is pretty dependent on who it is, there was a Goldberg set that just ended and a Lashley set ending in 11minutes that both went for 20-21 dollars

Actually yes.

A bunch of us are still incredulous at the prices.

This has been found to be educational, and I've had a number of players comment that they appreciate this thread.
