So was anyone else as amused as I was over the first 20-30 minutes, until Vince came out?

Sure, it was expected in terms of the types of promos that came out from Cena, Shamus, Punk, Etc.

But it seemed like they were truly having fun.

I genuinely wanted to see HHH Wrestle a broomstick, I felt it was a nod to the Invisible Dancing Bear.

I was hoping that the WWE would have let it go on for a bit longer, and could have been a great excuse for HHH to "Make some calls" and have a few "surprise" guests show up, and cut some promos etc.

I think if they had let it play out, it really could have given a feeling of "Monday Night Raw, where anything can happen."

Ah, good old Monday Night Raw, where anything can happen, as long as it's not fun or interesting.

I missed the first two thirds of the show because I was out, but by the time I got home, read what had happened, and saw that they'd turned over the show to (and I can't believe I hadn't heard this nickname until last night, but I'm using it forever now) John Laryngitis, my interest level plummeted. At least they've put Miz back on TV. R-Truth I can take or leave, but Miz actually is pretty much what he says he is: a must-see part of the program. And I'm floored that I'm saying this about Real World boy, but he put in his dues and is turning in some... awesome performances.

QFT!

I would have liked to seen it gone on longer.

I sat there thinking "Ok, so someone wins this match....now what" Trips decide's he's gotta wrestle, decides it's gotta be against punk, Sheamus ref's, and Cena talks. Honestly, thats what i was hoping for. I mean, it's not like they wouldnt be quality matches. 4 HUGE names in the compnay are fighting.

And as you said, once that was done, Trips coulda made some phone calls, brought in some "friends", wrestled a bear, hell, they coulda had the Raw comedy hour for all i care.

In all, it was a great effort, and a good result. But i think it coulda been better.

Still a really good Raw overall though. Only plot hole was JR getting canned. Eveybody walked out, i dont see how JR was insubordinate just because HHH hired him, but oh well.

+1 from me.  The start was very interesting, the sudden and abrupt wrap-up was not.  The payoff for the first 30 min (with only one brief, interrupted 'match') - John L. takes over, Morrison gets beat down, JR gets fired... it felt like the night nWo took over Nitro.  Too much time spent doing non-wrestling stuff.

And yeah, I'm with 'goth on that - I was enjoying the mayhem & chaos at the start of the show, and Vince ruined it.  Now we get 'bury everyone beneath my ego' Triple H back as a wrestler, which no one needed, and taking away JR to let Cole run rampant on commentary all over again, which no one needed.

Great start, failed results.

Oh, and I've been saying good things about Miz for months - he's like Trish Stratus, came from outside wrestling, paid his dues, and has become a VERY good wrestler!

Surprised no one has mentioned CM Punk asking HHH if he could wear his blazer while doing commentary yet.

Anyway, I wish they would've made the whole strike last longer than one week, the way they handled it was a big buzzkill imo.

Didn't mention it because that was part of the awesomeness of the entire first segment to me.

I will admit I kinda saw all that happened coming, I just expected it to take more then 10 minutes into the show for some of the walk out people and Laryngitis to do the exact actions that everyone walked out about making it an unsafe work enviroment. I think CM Punk put it best "Unsafe work enviroment? This is professional wrestling, not ballet."

I literally laughed out loud, so did my wife and she HATES wrestling. CM Punk and HHH were priceless.

I thought for sure there would be a legend or two on hand to put together a Raw. Along with everyone else, I wish it lasted at least 2-3 matches longer. Give the "live" fans a few dark matches to make up for it (if it really matters).

i was fully expecting 2  45 minute matches(orton vs cena and punk vs sheamus) followed by a tag main event(punk/sheamus vs orton/cena) interrupted by r-miz. hhh ref-ing throughout.

would have been fun if hhh was like "you guys don't wanna be on monday nights? fine. these guys do."  then zack ryder leads out the fcw roster. never would have happened, but i think it would have been cool.

There should have at least been ONE moment where we saw the people outside the arena.

...and people thought the "HHH-Punk storyline" was hotshotted...

I don't think its been hotshotted yet. Although they did back themselves into a corner having a roster walkout a few weeks before a PPV. But I still feel as though this storyline is heading towards the Lauranitis vs HHH Survivor Series match (otherwise there would have been no point in the segment at the start establishing which superstars were still on HHH's side).
