Why was JBL nerfed so badly?  I never thought he was a NPE, maybe before the errata he was abusive.  But during his turn he isn't any more broken than Jericho with the Tron out.   IMHO That being said does he have any viable builds?  I kinda want to build him!

Have you ever played against JBL during its heyday? Having played as it and against it is no fun, he draws his deck in one turn and proceeds to beat you down.

His errata was mainly so that he didn't draw obscene cards during the Pre-match as all abilities iirc during GAB-era were changed to work during the Pre-match phase and thus make Kennedy's ability actually work.

As for viable builds, he has a 12 hand size and the Limo. You can build him any which way to be honest.

Also, all of the Virtual cards we make are Unique, so the NPE of JBL was only going to get worse, lol.  There were several obnoxious JBL decks making their rounds that would make sure they could get down an action (like, say, When Kurt Met Christy) that they pulled out of the Limo, then spam that to draw their deck and get the kill combo.

However, as Buddha enlightened us earlier, 12HS with 2 in the Limo gives you a lot of options, even with a blank Ability.

Ya...Unique fantasy pre-match cards + active ability can lead to a 20+ starting hand size, and that's not even accounting for the text on those pre-match. Add to the fact that almost every fantasy card to date has been unique, it just sets JBL on fire!

I liked JBL Heat. Discarding with commons - although, if people blank his ability, I guess that idea's out.

I guess I've never played him during that era.  I can see how it could be abusive, but the Jeri-tron is just as nasty, granted its got to hit the board.  But it does the same thing...  I guess that's why I don't play test.
