Man, this is a blast from the past.

I was an avid Raw Deal player back around the Survivor Series 3 time (maybe some people around here remember me), and a little bit after that, and am really impressed with the virtual stuff, so a couple friends and I have decided to bust out the cards again and take a crack at playing.  I was known back in the day for playing X-Pac (actually beat Evolution in the Origins Smackdown! tourney Top 16 years ago, and then lost in the Top 8 to Barron's Victoria), so I'm trying to bring him back.  I've seen the Virtual cards, but don't have a great feel for them yet or what would really help X-Pac or in the current meta, so any advice is great.  This deck is for Virtual Classic play (i.e., all Classic cards, all Virtual cards, but no Revo cards).  I'm making this from memory, but it should be pretty close to what I actually have built.  Thanks in advance for the help!

X-Pac, Heel / Cheater / nWo

Backstage:

X-Pac
He'll Beat you Syxx Ways from Sunday
[other stuff, but will usually only reveal this unless the matchup dictates...]

Pre-Match (usually play the *):

Outsider Distraction*
Trash Talkin Interview TB*
Managed by Teddy Long*
Underrated Superstar*
nWo T-Shirt TB*
Lethal nWo Poison*
A No Show*
It's Showtime*
You Rang?
My Game, My Way
Managed by William Regal
Distractingly Divalicious

Mid-Match:

Pac's Back
nWo Reinforcements Arrive
The Road to Victory
Graceful as a Cow in Ice
Shoot Counter
Sustained Damage
Unscrupulous SOB
This is Going Nowhere Fast
Restricted Use in this Area
Panic Grab x3

Maneuvers - 20:

Clutch onto Opponent x2
Waist Lock TB x2
Grab
Pump Kick
Judo Takedown
Apply Illegal Leverage x2
Shoot Forearm
German Suplex TB x2
Back Throw
Shoot Lockup x2
Precision Sleeper x2
X-Factor
Thrust Knee Lift x2

Actions - 9:

nWo Black and White
4 Life
Pac's Pack
Shoot Action x2
The Switch x2
Backed by Stephanie McMahon x2

Reversals - 31:

A Revolution of the Mind x3
Elbow to the Face x3
Anything and Hate It
Manager Interferes x3
Volley This x3
Oversell Maneuver x3
No Chance in Hell TB x3
Leaping Spin Kick
The Coach Says Today's the Day! x2
Sidewalk Slam x3
Too Many Rules, Too Many Refs x2
Don't Try This at Home x3
Help's On the Way TB

The deck uses Outsider pretty much every turn, and nearly always dumps Thrust Knee Lift into the Ringside (unless you need to get a card there to grab with The Switch), and immediately recycles it to kill cards in your opponent's Ringside.  Gets F to stick through either an opening Pump Kick hopefully followed soon by a TB German, or Panic/Clutch/Apply.  Use No Show to grab Apply and Anything and Hate It usually.

Worked my Pre-Match around a bit to get the free nWo cards in there (thanks, CreedP), and added Regal and Divalicious as additional options depending on the superstar values of my opponents and if they play Showtime themselves.  I also took out Switcheroo as I'm gonna guess most players are prepared for it, and threw in My Game, My Way just in case I get It's All About the Game'd.  In that case, I'd still get Outsider, Trash Talkin and Managed by Regal / Teddy and all of my Mid-Match back, so I should be fine.

Check Revo 5 for the nWo T-Shirt TB (Allegiance) card.  Smiley

Yeah - I saw that in my look throughs and didn't really think it was necessary, but missed that it will give me an extra Pre-Match slot for Outsider Distraction, so I guess there's really no reason not to pack it and make the nWo Actions tougher to reverse and Pac's Pack a bit cheaper.

Seems like nWo Comes to Ringside might be a good addition to slow the opponent down if I'm gonna pack the T-Shirt.

Also, what do you guys think about packing High Flying Style, and a few cards to support it?  Actually, having an 11-10 High Risk with no requirement that I can just go grab whenever is probably pretty solid, and maybe a From the Top Rope TB + Back Splash combo since I can just wait until I reverse a card, and then use Outsider to go grab FttTR TB and hit Back Splash, or some other hard-to-reverse HR.  Any thoughts there?  How could I change up my Pre-Match to fit that in there?

...and nWo Reinforcements (Mid-match reversal)  Smiley

They may or may not work for your build, but the nWo move/action hybrids in R4 might be worth a glance.  With or without them, Ref Takes a Bump (R4 Action) is worth a glance.

And since you're removing cards anyway, and its 'free', Lethal nWo Poison could be worth your while.  And just for my style, I'd try to squeeze in Get Out of Here.. that Raw reversal from the holiday set with Bischoff, reversing any maneuver based on the damage and the amount of cards removed from the game.

Overall, though, it looks like a good framework!

Lethal nWo Poison - wow.  I certainly forgot that card existed.  Makes sense though since it's free and I'm not overly concerned with Break You.  I might lose it early for not playing a maneuver, but no biggie.  I suppose Outsider lets me grab a maneuver when I need one to keep it going if I want to.  Between that and TKL, they'll be hard-pressed to keep a Ringside pile when I'm killing 4 cards per turn.

Get Out of Here is nice if I go Raw.  Seems to me I haven't really branded myself yet with this deck, so I could go either way.  High Flying Style would switch it to Smackdown though, and I'd have to add Perfectly Executed Tope, a few Hurricanrana's and probably some FttTRs and at least Back Splash or Perfectly Executed Moonsault (whatever that 13-17 HR is that turns to multi after FttTR, and is +3D with High Flying Style down).

The nWo Strike/Action multi scares me, since I'm not going to be playing many (or any) Strikes easily reversible from hand.  There might be a couple of painful reversals waiting for me when I do.  The submission is ok, but I don't think I really care for the 8-4 stat line compared to the tougher to reverse moves.

Ref Takes a Bump is interesting, as my move-set will probably have me seeing a lot of It's Great to Be Back Here In.... or Coach Says against my Panics, which would both trigger Ref Bump and get me some Fortitude.  Might be worth taking out my Judo Takedown that I have in there for the likes of Flair, etc, though I like the permanent F it gives me against those types of decks.

Switched my reversals up a bit, too.  I'd forgotten to include DTTAH and Sidewalk Slam, both of which I think I need.  I probably need a plan against Hell in a Cell Match as well, since I'm packing a few Run-In's and some big recursion cards..... Maybe Duchess / Bischoff or Vince GRA or something like that is in order?

Teddy Long is Raw.  Sad

If you drop that and go with SD (I'd advise) consider adding Backed by Vickie Guerrero (R4) for extra protection, and you could use the extra slot given for say Banned From Ringside, so the reversed card will go back on the bottom of your Arsenal to be tossed out next turn as well.  Smiley

Good call - I forgot Teddy was branded.  Certainly has been a while for me.....

Vickie doesn't do that much more considering that High Flying Style already nullifies the damage, but it's still nice to stop them from playing the reversals altogether, and it's free I suppose.  Also lets me get down Banned, which as you said is really nice for X-Pac, especially against Legends where I can just keep throwing Shoot Lock-Up until Jimmy is gone, or keep throwing Hurricanranas or Clutch for Apply.  Also helps a little bit in case I get locked in a Cell.

I might have to work on a Smackdown decklist for High Flying Stye.... Smackdown takes away Bischoff for helping me out of the Cell, though.  Then again, most Cell decks are going to work pretty hard to deny the usual ways out of it, and Pulled Some Strings.... makes it even tougher.  Maybe it's worth it to just not worry about Cell and try to deal with it some other way, like through Waist Lock TB.

Those who pack Cell cannot pull some strings.

And as a note, if you can find it, Don't Cross The Boss (Original) in the Ringside pile means 0F No Chance In Hell's, another good use of Outsider Distraction.  And if you play it, and it bounces to your hand, you can skip Outsider and discard it back to the pile.

That's a cute little combo using another old card I used to like - thanks!  I think I used to pack that in X-Pac back in the day once NCiH TB came out.

That one might even be better than my old "Outsider Turn 1 for Trailer Park Trash and dump Kissin Up into the Ringside"

EDIT:  Also, there's probably a pretty sick X-Pac Volley deck somewhere in here that abuses Lethal nWo Poison and Thrust Knee Lift to kill their Ringside, so they're forced into hard-reversing Volley maneuvers and can't play actions or Mid-Match.  Hmmm....

Banned only works when the maneuver is reversed from hand, so getting Jimmied won't let you put the maneuver on the bottom.
