Maybe I'm just being picky, and I know it's too late to change it, but.......

If Steve Lombardi was The Brooklyn Brawler, shouldn't he have been wearing Mets gear?

Just sayin' because historically Brooklyn's been an anti-Yankees borough, along with Queens.

Still, really nice job! And I actually do get the feeling that he'd be surprisingly playable, even without Legends support.

You know you're overthinking it when he's WEARING a Yankee shirt, dude.  Wink

But this isn't the sports section, its just part of the infamous Brooklyn Brawler gimmick he had for so many years.

I know I'm overthinking it. When I was a little kid I didn't think anything of it. But now that I'm older, it just kinda makes me scratch my head that he wore Yankees gear when Brooklyn is a Mets borough.

He was pushing the New York part. It makes more sense to see "NY" on him than "Mets". I don't think it really had anything to do with Yankees or Mets, otherwise wear Dodgers.

Since when have the Mets not had a stylized "NY" of their own?

Umm, during the time of the Brooklyn Brawler and even now. Their jerseys featured a stylized Mets and cursive New York. Only their hats had an NY and the Brawler didn't wear a hat much.

Fair point.

I know I'm being way too picky about it. It's just that being as old as I am, it makes less sense to me.

That and I now understand why my paternal grandfather (who was from Brooklyn) called him a fake when we watched wrestling together.

Probably because people hate the Yankees more than the Mets.

Back then nobody hated the Yankees because they went around 15 years with out making the playoffs.

I hated the Yankees then just as much as I do now.

LOL  I didn't like the Yankees as a kid because they beat my hometown team (Dodgers) in the World Series.  Later in life, I had to respect the Pinstripes Of Win... Smiley

Anyone else remember one (he might have done it twice) of Lombardi's one-off's where he was the "Boston Brawler" and wore a Red Sox t-shirt?

Yes, he did. It was at an MSG Raw some time in early 2005, though I don't remember the segment and why the cheap heat was needed.

Cheap heat is ALWAYS needed.

Especially when you're just doing a "guest appearance"-type thing.

Now that you mention it, I do remember.

I also found a picture.
