What does everyone think of this? I personally feel that they've needed to do this for quite a while. Good move.

i say it was made to trump what TNA is doing, going live for 2 months straight to see if it works, and with WWE announcing this it may take a little steam out of TNA's sail... but on the other hand... who knows, that announcement may bring more fans back into wrestling; we'll just have to wait and see though...

also this will ONLY Be a good move for WWE if this gives an extra 3-5 minutes per match to the show, if we even get much wrestling on raw anymore...

I really don't like the idea because it's hard enough to get two hours of good TV out of the WWE let alone another hour. If they are using it to give us more real matches instead of Hornswoggle trash segments that would be great. However I just feel like the WWE is overexposing themselves. With Raw, Smackdown and NXT that would be six hours of original broadcasting every single week.

7 hours actually, 3 for Raw(starting in july) 2 for SD, 1 for nXt & 1 for Superstars; and yes i agree, they're VERY overexposed right now... 28 hrs a month PLUS a ppv... yeah a little much, maybe it's time to trim a show or 2 down... that way they don't strain the booking commitee down, was listening to a podcast(Pro-wrestling-torch) over at blogtalkradio.com and they had Russo on(about 2 months back) and he said basically that it's bad enough that they spend 60ish hours a week just booking shows and writing them, and that's just for 2 shows a week, not counting house-shows & the other 2 shows, meh...

Another 25 minutes of commercials, yay.  I have trouble watching two hours lately (on dvr). Three will be overbearing for me.

Nitro couldn't handle 3 hours either.  The only way this will work is if they expand the mid card on the show.

With a lot of injuries and wellness violations, I worry that .. even with these 'new' guys they're bringing up (Sandow, Ryback, Brodus, Tensai) their roster is really thin.  It's been more noticeable on Smackdown, when they keep having the top guys wrestle twice a night.

Could be interesting, though, and its not like I have anything else to watch on Mondays, haha

As mentioned, its good IF:

The spend a good portion of the extra 35-40 minutes of actual show time (not counting commercials) on matches. Honestly, i've liked watching these newer guys like Ryback and Brodus and even that Rugby tool. But id like to see them expaded on a little more in the ring.

They develop their storylines a little more. Some of the story lines and developments have been good as of late, but i feel like all of them are rushed. Im not saying i want all this extra time to go to talking and back stage segments, but a little extra in some cases wouldnt hurt. Case in point, i would have LOVED to see Big Show go on an emotionla rampage throughout the arena monday night after he got fired. Now, whether that didnt happen because of time or because of storylines, i dunno. But a little extra time may allow for things like that in the future.

Lastly, and this is personal, but im usually busy on Mondays. I like that i can at least catch some Raw somewhere now. Watch the early part of the shwo, watch the end, in the middle, whatever. It makes it easier for me to get a lil wrestling fix.

I honestly think this could be good, but who knows. Like Rio said, Nitro tried 3 hours and crashed and burned. We will have to wait and see.

I personally enjoyed the long Nitros because of the expanded mid/low cards, ike the cruiserweights. And of course, this could be a good opportunity for them to actually DO something with the tag division...but I doubt they will (I wanna see more Uso's damnit!).  But they have the people to do more matches and more variety, they just don't. I'm curious to see what they do with this or if it will be a typical let-down.

This.  Usos vs. Primo/Epico, hell, that 4-team match they had a couple months ago was HOT, they should do more high-energy stuff like that to pop the crowd (not just rely on a Brodus squash, where the entrance takes longer than the match, heh)

BTW, that 'rugby tool' is Antonio Cesaro, aka Claudio Castagnoli who was just AMAZING in ROH.  Once they move him past squash matches, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.  Wink  Now let's just get Seth Rollins (Tyler Black) on TV....

haaaaa, if you have WWE 24/7 go back and watch the old Nitros....those shows were 40% Bischoff and the nWo rubbing themselves off and "how great they were"....I am expecting a similar level of crap from the extra hour of Raw.....

I'm usually done with Raw after the first hour, it depends on my mood. Either we'll be getting another hour each week of crappy things they show in the second half like contract signings and uninspired main events, or we get an extra hour of pushing the undercard.

If it's the later, I might be in favor of this.

Oh i liked his in ring skill, and honestly, the character is unique enough to work. I just chose the word "tool" cuz honestly, thats what his character is, lol.

I'm pretty sure they will use this to somehow actually include fewer and shorter matches. This is going to make supershow tapings unbearably long.
