"I, the one from Beyond, have returned. This shall be the final battle. Deep in space I have constructed a patchwork Battleworld made up of pieces of other planets. This will be the ultimate battle of your "good" versus your "evil". Yes this will be the first ever Secret Wargames team battle! Special power-ups shall be barred from this contest but Battleworld is ripe with many alien wonders. All men, women, creatures and celestial forces, currently living or dead, shall be granted entry with but a thought.

A ha, MOLECULE MAN has arrived. His bitterness since Magneto's 1986 Secret Wargames II victory has grown. MOLECULE MAN is the EVIL LEADER. And now, yes CAPTAIN AMERICA has appeared. He is the GOOD LEADER. All others that appear from now on will either appear in MOLECULE MAN's or CAPTAIN AMERICA's stable. Some that appear that are so powerful may be left to fight by themself!"

Uatu here. The Beyonder has finally let go of the mental hold he has had on me for the past 2 years. He has seemed to mellow out after being eliminated from Secret Wargames II by Juggernaut, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange and Silver Surfer. That was a beating. Anyways we got to talking and he's pretty chill now. So he asked me to kinda run this whole thing again while he does, whatever it is he does. Maybe he needs to chop up some more styrofoam in his Cuisinart.

HOW TO SELECT YOUR CHARACTERS
I am Uatu, the Watcher, I like to watch. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING carefully, as it will explain the character selection process that you MUST ADHERE TO. The characters below are organized into 2 different groups. There are Super Heroes and Super-Villains. A player may only select characters from ONE of these lists. EACH PLAYER GETS TO SPEND UP TO 16 POINTS. A player can select ANY NUMBER of characters. After a player has selected their characters, if they have any points left they may spend the remainder of their points on POWER-UPS (POWER-UPS are listed below the characters). Characters have certain words after their listing (such as Agility, Intelligence, Strength). A character with Agility can ONLY be given Agility POWER-UPS, etc.


As soon as 25 Super Hero characters have been selected, then players signing up at that point can only select Super-Villain characters and vice versa. Hence the Super Hero team will be 25 characters + Captain America and the Super-Villain team will be 25 characters + Molecule Man.

AS SOON AS 50 CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN SELECTED BY ANY NUMBER OF PLAYERS, The Match (from) Beyond begins! Any other players that end up trying to join in will unfortunately be cut off. DO NOT SELECT CHARACTERS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN SELECTED BY SOMEONE ELSE AND DO NOT SELECT A 51ST CHARACTER! It is your job to look over and correct your choices if need be. If you do not The Beyonder may introduce you to a cosmic screw job.

BRIEF GAME MECHANICS OVERVIEW
Characters will be posted with 2 numbers, #/#. The first # is their hand size (HS), and the second # is their character value (CV). Did You Know: All characters, stats, and specials were taken and converted from Marvel Universe Series 1-4 Trading Cards and X-Men Series 1 Trading Cards!
The higher the HS the more damage a character can take before having to make a save roll (failed save rolls result in elimination), though a character with HS4 or less heals 1 damage at the end of each round (HS2 or less does this too but also has their save rating reduced). A character with HS5 can reroll their dice once each round, though this ability is cancelled when attacking a character with HS6-7. A character with HS8+ has a small chance to avoid making a save roll altogether (they get to make a BBB roll before their save roll) while characters with HS8 possess the best chance to do this. Characters with HS11+ may take extra damage when being attacked (this is bad).
The higher a character's CV determines how easy it is for them to hit other characters and avoid being hit by other characters. The higher the better!
Recoveries can happen during SECRET WARGAMES. Characters with a lower CV have a better chance at recovering. Reroll counters may be given to characters during the course of SECRET WARGAMES through recoveries. Reroll counters act like a normal HS5 reroll ability, when used they are gone. Characters with HS0-1 begin with 2 reroll counters, HS3, 6, and 9 begin with 1 reroll counter.


Secret Wargames III is divided into 3 static sections. In the far west is Battlefield #1 (The Volcanic Plains), Battlefield #2 (Alien Healer's Village) lays between east and west and in the east is Battlefield #3 (The Swamp). Characters will enter randomly into these sections at 1 minute intervals though some choice is given. Entrants alternate between hero characters and villain characters. A hero character will enter Secret Wargames first. When a character is KOd (or worse) they are eliminated from SECRET WARGAMES! The last team standing will be the winners of the most epic Match (from) BEYOND of them all!!! All the surviving characters on the winning team shall immediately converge in one of the Battlefields chosen at random to do FINAL BATTLE. Only one character will walk away the overall victor of SECRET WARGAMES III.

Super Heroes can only double team with other Super Hero characters and Super-Villains can only double team with Super Villains. Characters with TELEPATHY can try and double team with anyone!

Many events can occur during this Wargames, it shall be exciting and unpredictable. (Creators note: these events are run by means of a 52 card deck that mirrors the actual events of the 1984-1985 Marvel Secret Wars comic series.)

Captain America, the loser of Wargames 1, will start in Battlefield #1 and Molecule Man, who was snubbed in Wargames #2, will start in Battlefield #2.

POWER-UPS
If you have any points left after selecting your characters, use your remaining points now! Each POWER-UP can only be given once to an individual character. POWER-UPS that state MULTI after their name may be given any number of times to the same character. Remember a character with Agility can ONLY be given Agility POWER-UPS, a character with Durability and Strength can ONLY be given Durability and/or Strength POWER-UPS etc. If a POWER-UP temporarily changes a characters HS number, the characters original HS bonus remains.

AGILITY

(X points spent gives the character X+1 reroll counters, at least 1 point must be spent)
-1pt COMBAT GYMNAST (HS may=8 when being attacked for purposes of making a BBB roll)
-2pts SUPER SENSES (MULTI) (When this character is automatically eliminated without being able to make a save roll one of these POWER-UPS may be immediately removed from this character, if removed this character is no longer being eliminated and is immediately moved to the end of their section and is declared DOWN BUT NOT OUT)

DURABILITY
-1pt TOUGHNESS
(This character's save rating is decreased by -1 if the current save rating is 4+/5+/6+, the save rating is not decreased by -1 if it is at 6+ and this character has HS0-4)
-2pts SUPERHUMAN Can only be given to a character with HS8+ (This character always gets to make a BBB roll regardless of opposing HS)
-3pts INDESTRUCTIBLE (MULTI) (When this character is eliminated (not automatically) one of these POWER-UPS may be immediately removed from this character, if removed this character is no longer being eliminated and is immediately moved to the end of their section and they are declared DOWN BUT NOT OUT, this character immediately rolls 2D6 and removes a number of hits from themself equal to the lowest number just rolled (highest number is used if character has HS0-7))

ENERGY PROJECTION
-2pts DYNAMO
Can only be given to a character with HS0-4 (This character recieves no hits from 1s or 2s)
-2pts ENERGY BLAST (This character may make a normal attack against any character in their section or an adjacent section that is not DOWN BUT NOT OUT, HS5-7 characters with ENERGY BLAST may make an automatically successful Empty the Section attack against all other characters in their section)
-2pts ENERGY SHIELD Can only be given to a character with HS8+ (This character always gets to make a BBB roll regardless of opposing HS)

FIGHTING ABILITY
-1pt BATTLE PLANNER
(This character may remove themself as a target from an Empty the Section attack unless a character with ENERGY BLAST is attacking, this character may choose to not be selected to participate in a Double Team attack unless a character with TELEPATHY is attacking)
-1pt COMBAT EXPERT (This character's reroll ability and reroll counters cannot be cancelled)
-2pts LETHAL (This character always hits on 5+ when making a normal attack)

INTELLIGENCE
-Xpts MASTERMIND
(X points spent gives the character X+3 reroll counters, at least 1 point must be spent, a character with MASTERMIND cannot reroll their attack roll)
