So by now, I think most people have heard about the Chris Jericho suspension - 30 days for kicking a Brazilian flag while on tour down there.  It was a cheap heel tactic, no biggie, but someone complained and technically its against the law ... 'desecrating the national flag', etc.  So Jericho gets the slap on the wrist... no biggie, word is he'll be taking a break soon to tour with Fozzy.

But I just read that Randy Orton was suspended for 60 days for a Wellness violation.. damn.  You'd think he would know better!

So it makes me wonder.. Brock's backed off, and he'll probably just be putting over the 'big names' that don't need it anyway (Triple H, Cena and such)  Lord Tensai was a total flop, going from a rush to the main event down to a squash match on Superstars.  Orton's in a bad way, Jericho's temporary.. while Sheamus has already been moving up with a nice long World Title reign, it makes you wonder.. who's next?

(Thankfully, not Goldberg! heh)

Could we see the 4SV guys step up, guys like Daniel Bryan?  Maybe a Dolph Ziggler getting back into the main event picture?

What do you guys think?

It will have to happen out of necessity, but that could be a good thing. The talent is stale, it's time for some nasty feuds.

Well....Punk v Bryan will now run all summer.Probably a three match set.Bryan wins it at this next PPV. Then Punk and Bryan have the rubber match.Ziggler feuds With who ever wins the best out of three That's the good news. Now the bad. Seamus will obviously keep the belt now, Not that I think they were going to put it on Del Rio. Than he will probably drop it to Big Show, Either in a Title match or using the money in the bank breifcase.
Jehricho makes it back in time for the elimination chamber either mugging someone for a spot or just being entered into the match late. Orton is a little harder to replace, but not completely horrifying.

The main problem I see is Orton, Cena, Big Show,Kane, Mysterio,Mark Henry,Christian,Jehricho, and Regal have a decade at most left the way the company is pushing them. Half of this list is done in 5 years as they are one bad injury away from being done.
That's not to say that they comeback every once in a while and wrestle.
The only other people who have even sniffed the main event on the roster at the moment are Ziggler,Punk, Bryan, Miz, Seamus,Del Rio*,Wade Barrett* and Swagger*(* means I'm not sure they will be with the company in 5 years). The problem I have with that list. Who is your main event Face. Punk is an obvious but the second one is way harder. You can put Bryan but I think he has better mic skills when heel.
This is the reason people are not as high on WWE since departing the Attitude era. You don't have a roster that has a lot of Main eventers That can flip flop between face or heel. Here is the list of main eventers that could during the attitude era. HHH,Rock,Shawn Michaels ,Undertaker,Kane(kinda) Mick Foley,Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero(i Know he didn't win a title until the 2000's),Jehricho, and Big Show. Each one of hem could go face or heel with out much problem.  They just don't have wrestlers with that kind of storytelling skill.

Seamus

Am I missing some kinda joke? Is there some reason you keep calling him "Seamus"?

Just wondering.

I'm guessing its because that's the traditional spelling, and the WWE probably uses the alternate 'Sheamus' so people didn't call him 'Sea-a-Muss' or something.

Jericho's suspension was planned so he could go do his summer tour with Fozzy.

Go look at the photos of him with his "police escort" out of Brazil, and you get the idea of how "serious" this wasn't

My understanding is that he's not 'coming back' exactly, but he'll be making appearances to promote a charity thing he's doing.  If I saw correctly, he's climbing seven mountains for charity.. inspiring donations, etc.

He was on XM's Busted Open today for a half hour (great spot if you don't have XM....you should!), he said "as long as I don't die on one of these mountains it's a virtual lock I will back with the WWE after these three years are over"...he'd be an epic improvement to Booker T for sure!

I must disagree wholeheartedly.  Hated JBL on commentary.  And Booker T is full of awesome.  His catchphrases and banter with Cole is awesome.

I like both, JBL is like having Ventura doing VOs. Booker T is kind of like having Macho Man do them.

JBL + Booker + Striker on play-by-play would be amazing, which means, of course, that it will never happen. We will probably end up with JBL coming into Raw next to Cole and King and having Booker + Cole + Mathews stay on SD.

Which brings me to my question Daeva, why is Micheal Cole on both shows?

Because the WWE has decided to shove him down our throats as a mega-heel announcer so he can hype Mr. Excitement. I'd be pretty happy if he disappeared from Smackdown all together.

Also, they don't have the confidence to put someone else as Smackdown's lead announcer just yet.  Josh Matthews is getting there, and I'd rather have Striker & Booker (though I'd take JBL over Booker) backing him up, but then I'd also like to see Antonio Cesaro get a push for actually being a talented wrestler instead of 'the guy who's with Aksana' or 'the rugby player' (which is lost on over 90% of Americans, lol).

I agree with pretty much everything stated. I'm actually rather fond of the NXT commentary team (Josh, Striker and/or Regal), and think Striker is probably the most entertaining commentary guy they have right now.

As for Cesaro, having finally seen him wrestle on some Chikara vids... he's getting sorely misused (and I fear the same will happen to Brodie Lee...)
