Really like this look/style on a Raw Deal card.  A lot.  Very nice Toxic.

I do really like this. I think it would be cool if they did Superstar Specifics like this and keep the other cards the same.

I can tell you myself... that picture is too wide and too short for a card.  Check out the size of the card and the size of that picture, you'll see what I mean.

Still no good.  The problem is aspect ratio.  By the time you use enough vertical to fill the frame, there won't be enough horizontal space to fit all of her in (you'll most likely end up cutting off her kicking leg).  On the other hand, if you size it horizontally to fit her on the card, there will be empty space vertically.  The only other solution is to stretch the picture to fit the area, but that would look extremely bad.

Edit:  Daeva is absolutely correct.  I failed to notice that the bigger pic was a DIFFERENT pic.  I assumed it was the same one (just bigger).  My bad.   Lips Sealed

That source image is better than it originally seems. With a little cropping, I got to this:

A standard Raw Deal card has a vertical : horizontal aspect ratio of 1.4 : 1. (I know that Prong knows this, I'm just reiterating it for everyone who doesn't.) This pic has a V:H aspect ratio of 1.43 : 1. A little crop of the deck below her feet and it should work.

OMG. Thanks Alot, Prong & Daeva! Prong, could you please help me make that card? Thanks!

This is Toxic's thread, so we should leave the requests to him.

However, I thought this would be a suitable place to share my MTG promo design for textless Raw Deal cards (I dislike text over pictures).

very nice. Has the VS. full art card feel. I agree, why wast the space with text-less cards? Expand the art.

Prong...B2B set, stat!

Sorry, but I have no interest in making anything like that.  It felt weird enough making the Chairshot.  I just did it as an exercise of "What would textless Raw Deal cards have looked like if Comic Images would have made them?"

Besides which, I'm pretty sure Prong doesn't take orders from people, telling him to make full custom card sets, lol.  Be nice now...

I have to admit, I'm a little curious, so I took a stab at it.  One time thing, no its not legal (says so on the card! haha) and no, I'm not doing any more.  It's cute and all but a lot more work... plus we don't make cards Comic Images printed.

Again, one time thing, don't bother asking for more.

Alright, if Creed is going to make one, I have to as well.  This is it though.  I'm out after this.

I won't be sharing the template(s), but I encourage others to try and recreate it.

Why are you giving yourself requests?  laugh This is your thread, if you want to do Back to Basics cards, then do them up!
