Jim Ross
Starting Hand Size: 0
Superstar Value: 2

Commentator Ability:
You may pack 1 superstar card in your Backstage Area. If you do, reveal it when you reveal this superstar card.  Add that card's Starting Hand Size and Superstar Value to this card.  You may pack cards in your arsenal as if you are that superstar.

When you successfully play a maneuver, you may search your arsenal or ringside for 1 card titled: He's Runnin' Like a Scalded Dawg, Gettin' Beat Like a Government Mule, He's as Crazy as a Pet Coon, or any card with "J.R." in the title;  reveal it, put it into your hand, and shuffle.

Your That's J.R.'s Animal Hat Trick, Folks! is not effected by your opponent's card effects.
You may pack WWE Commentators.
Your cards with "King" in the title are not Heel or Active.
Cards with titles printed on this superstar card cannot be reversed from your opponent's Backlash.

Not bad. Straight forward as far as a J.R. Deck would go. Power Creed is minimal being only able to pack arsenal cards. However, say HHH or Kane with 3 King Interferes seems a little bonkers.

Funaki is definitely the real gem, making you a 12/2 so you can Underrate.

hmm but you'll lose piper's SSA and JBL's limo so....

Evolution would be quite good too. Large SHS and SSV, awesome cards like PLM and you won't pin yourself

Yeah, in fairness, I read the SSA at first as "you get the second SSA", which on second read doesn't look to be the case.  Whoops...if it was, I'd use JR to dodge all the "when you are X, you are th3 fail" on Shenanigans cards.

In that case, give me Eugene.

My first thought after reading the ability was "it would make J.R.'s Animal Hat Trick too easy to play" but I don't actually know that, also, it would make for an interesting challenge to play against him, since the deck would have an uncommon victory condition that most decks haven't accounted for.

It could be interesting to play against and I've always thought a J.R. Superstar would be interesting.  He has a pinfall victory over HHH, you know?  At least that's what he kept telling me on the Smackdown vs Raw games.

I'm glad there is some interest in this card, thanks for the speculating!  My idea was to use him as if he was calling a match for whatever superstar you pick.  My guess would be that decks with a large Superstar-specific card pool would be ideal.  Like the premiere guys, or Edge (that was a good selection!), or Raw based decks.  I of course would love to see he played with some incarnation of Stone Cold, HHH, or Mick Foley!  A little bit of King love in there too just to make him a little bit better.  I probably wouldn't give him any other cards except maybe 1 pre-match or 1 Backstage card.

the part that I liked was how you worded it so JR can pack any "enforcer" but limited it to in-arsenal cards and no SSA, so it avoided a lot of brokeness

Maybe add that to the ability, "if the superstar card has a Stone Cold Steve Austin logo on it, you may copy his ability as well".....adds a bonus to it and SCSA and R:SCSA's abilities aren't too overpowered
