Lol, if you could retire on $25,000 I would have retired at 21. What an awesome find though.

Once they are all sold they are estimated around 3 million from what he said to me.

Mind you he had people from arizona I believe that flew in specifically to look at them ans gave him the 3 million number. There were people from all over flying in last night. Some news studio from NY was still at the restaurant at 11:30 last night.

The lot is expected to fetch up towards $3 million and will be sold over the next 2 - 3 years via auctions.

What makes this lot such an amazing find is not only the collection itself, but the overall condition in witch is was found. PSA graded all the cards with one of them even earning a perfect 10 grading.

An amazing find!  Smiley

Yes, but the proceeds will be split amongst 20 people after auction fees. Do the math.

Fair enough, but based on my experience, I think the $3,000,000.00 figure that's being mentioned in articles is a lot more likely than the 500k mentioned in this thread (and perhaps elsewhere).

I wonder what a Full Taker set will fetch in 100 years  Tongue

Also, I'm not really down with the whole PSA grading thing. You would think after a century, time would have gotten to them or do the protective cases really protect them flawlessly? A perfect 10 sounds amazing for something so old.

The cards will be sold over a three year period for an estimated 3m, the batch going up this year is expected to fetch 500K. The suggestion was made that he retire now. Dividing 500k by 20 is 25k not counting auction fees or taxes. Even if it's a guarenteed 3m over three years, you can not retire on future earnings. That still gets only $150k after 3 years or 50k per year before taxes and fees. Still it's not even close to retirement money. What it is though, is enough free money to invest or buy something nice.
