Isn't there a card that has an ACE that "resets" your turn, so the game believes you haven't played any cards yet this turn?  I'm thinking its "The Show Must Go On" but I could easily be wrong.  Maybe slipping one or two of those in your deck might help the one manuever problem.

I think we'd need a ruling from Creed, because it says that the next card you play after you pop the ACE is considered to be the first card played this turn. I'm not so sure that means it resets it completely.

That's exactly what it means.  There's no ambiguity there... if you haven't played any cards, you haven't played any cards period.

However, good luck with getting that non-Unique non-Multi action to stick...
