Question about The Stinger
« on: January 10, 2017, 12:05:18 PM »
Quick question about The Stinger's SSV.
"When your 3D- card reverses from Arsenal, you may put that card into your Ring".
Is the "3D-" for any reversals that are 3D or less? I'm still learning and wanted to make sure I understood it right. Thanks!

Yes, it is shorthand for '3D or less'.  Similarly we use 4D+ to mean 'of 4D or greater'.  It all helps streamline the effects and try to shorten up the wording.

Thanks! I just wanted to make sure

Also note that his ability can move the card regardless of other effects like A Revolution of the Mind and Divine Intervention

See I was curious about that nick. I always thought card effect took place before the ability. You answered a question I didn't even have to ask. :)

Superstar abilities trump card effects

This is a broad statement that is not accurate.

For this particular question, an effect that changes where a card resolves to can change that location before another effect does so (see: The Urn and Revolution of the Mind in the OmniFAQ). So yes, his ability specifically overrides where the card resolves to, but not all abilities simply 'trump card effects'.
