I'm a little surprised by the lack of any political posts on here almost a week into the primary season. I guess I'll throw up a candidates topic for each party, and perhaps we can start a big debate thread for each party (or maybe even a thread for each debate if it turns out more than just a few of us are watching). Maybe some sort of delegate tally thread or something. I'll start things off.

I currently support John Edwards. I know some of you are probably thinking something like "that NC kid supporting his former senator, no surprise there..." however that really isn't the case. Friends of mine can tell you that about a year ago I was just waiting, hoping, that Obama would announce his candidacy, and of course once he did, I supported him for most the year. I had pretty much zero true interest in politics from '99-05 and couldn't have even told you that Edwards was my senator until he got the VP nod from Kerry. However during the debates he got my attention, and after looking through all of the candidates platforms, and reading their specific plans for their goals, I have moved my support over to Edwards with Obama a close second.

Obama is by far the best public speaker, and unlike Edwards, still has a real chance after tonight (even though tonight was a big blow). The man is simply inspirational and I would be glad to support him as our leader.

Hillary Clinton would make a fine leader as well, in my opinion, but she just isn't Bill. And personally, and I don't think I'm alone in this, I feel that she just tries to be a centrist and isn't as strong in her beliefs as the other two top three candidates are.

Honestly, amongst the top 3, there isn't much of a difference between there stances, however I do think there are enough differences to separate them and not make them all seemingly be clones.

Also, I'd like to toss out here that I'm a bit surprised that Richardson and Biden basically didn't get any traction.

In any event, remember, kids, get out and vote!

John Edwards has dropped out and thus far is not endorsing anyone... which I think means he probably has some sort of deal set-up with both sides (maybe VP for Obama, and maybe Attorney General or some cabinet position for Clinton or Obama).

Sad to see him go, but I guess I'll move over to Obama, even though he's probably a bigger underdog in this 2 person race due to the weird dynamics of it all.

Obama's public speaking =  Shocked in my opinion.

There's a reason why we haven't been talking politics: it usually leads to hellfire and brimstone since there are so many varied opinions on this site. I think that's why I'm immigrating to avoid this debate. ^_^

So it finally comes down to the Kennedy backed Obama or Clinton...

Certainly is interesting.

At the moment, it is being predicted that Obama will take down the regular delegates/popular vote, but Hillary will squeak it out due to the Super Delegates... but it is still nowhere near over. The DNC is going to do their best to try to avoid a brokered convention, Howard Dean specifically has said both on and off the record that he will do everything in his power to stop a brokered convention.

And just for fun, two pictures from the caucuses today:
